R±j± ±ha “bhante n±gasena, vedag³ upalabbhat²”ti? “Ko panesa, mah±r±ja, vedag³ n±m±”ti? “Yo, bhante, abbhantare j²vo cakkhun± r³pa½ passati, sotena sadda½ suŗ±ti, gh±nena gandha½ gh±yati, jivh±ya rasa½ s±yati, k±yena phoµµhabba½ phusati, manas± dhamma½ vij±n±ti, yath± maya½ idha p±s±de nisinn± yena yena v±tap±nena iccheyy±ma passitu½, tena tena v±tap±nena passeyy±ma, puratthimenapi v±tap±nena passeyy±ma, pacchimenapi v±tap±nena passeyy±ma, uttarenapi v±tap±nena passeyy±ma, dakkhiŗenapi v±tap±nena passeyy±ma. Evameva kho, bhante, aya½ abbhantare j²vo yena yena dv±rena icchati passitu½, tena tena dv±rena passat²”ti.

“Na kho te, mah±r±ja, yujjati purimena v± pacchima½, pacchimena v± purima½, yath± v± pana, mah±r±ja, maya½ idha p±s±de nisinn± imesu j±lav±tap±nesu uggh±µitesu mahantena ±k±sena bahimukh± suµµhutara½ r³pa½ pass±ma, evametena abbhantare j²ven±pi cakkhudv±resu uggh±µitesu mahantena ±k±sena suµµhutara½ r³pa½ passitabba½, sotesu uggh±µitesu…pe… gh±ne uggh±µite…pe… jivh±ya uggh±µit±ya…pe… k±ye uggh±µite mahantena ±k±sena suµµhutara½ saddo sotabbo, gandho gh±yitabbo, raso s±yitabbo, phoµµhabbo phusitabbo”ti? “Na hi bhante”ti
“Na kho te, mah±r±ja, yujjati purimena v± pacchima½, pacchimena v± purima½, yath± v± pana, mah±r±ja, aya½ dinno nikkhamitv± bahidv±rakoµµhake tiµµheyya, j±n±si tva½, mah±r±ja, ‘aya½ dinno nikkhamitv± bahidv±rakoµµhake µhito”’ti? “¾ma, bhante, j±n±m²”ti. “Yath± v± pana, mah±r±ja, aya½ dinno anto pavisitv± tava purato tiµµheyya, j±n±si tva½, mah±r±ja, ‘aya½ dinno anto pavisitv± mama purato µhito”’ti? “¾ma, bhante, j±n±m²”ti. “Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, abbhantare so j²vo jivh±ya rase nikkhitte j±neyya ambilatta½ v± lavaŗatta½ v± tittakatta½ v± kaµukatta½ v± kas±yatta½ v± madhuratta½ v±”ti? “¾ma, bhante, j±neyy±”ti. “Te rase anto paviµµhe j±neyya ambilatta½ v± lavaŗatta½ v± tittakatta½ v± kaµukatta½ v± kas±yatta½ v± madhuratta½ v±”ti. “Na hi bhante”ti.
“Na kho te, mah±r±ja, yujjati purimena v± pacchima½, pacchimena v± purima½, yath±, mah±r±ja, kocideva puriso madhughaµasata½ ±har±petv± madhudoŗi½ p³r±petv± purisassa mukha½ pidahitv± [pidahitv±va (ka.)] madhudoŗiy± pakkhipeyya, j±neyya, mah±r±ja, so puriso madhu½ sampanna½ v± na sampanna½ v±”ti? “Na hi bhante”ti. “Kena k±raŗen±”ti. “Na hi tassa, bhante, mukhe madhu paviµµhan”ti.
“Na kho te, mah±r±ja, yujjati purimena v± pacchima½, pacchimena v± puriman”ti. “N±ha½ paµibalo tay± v±din± saddhi½ sallapitu½; s±dhu, bhante, attha½ jappeh²”ti.
Thero abhidhammasa½yutt±ya kath±ya r±j±na½ milinda½ sańń±pesi– “idha, mah±r±ja, cakkhuńca paµicca r³pe ca uppajjati cakkhuvińń±ŗa½, ta½sahaj±t± phasso vedan± sańń± cetan± ekaggat± j²vitindriya½ manasik±roti evamete dhamm± paccayato j±yanti, na hettha vedag³ upalabbhati, sotańca paµicca sadde ca…pe… manańca paµicca dhamme ca uppajjati manovińń±ŗa½, ta½sahaj±t± phasso vedan± sańń± cetan± ekaggat± j²vitindriya½ manasik±roti evamete dhamm± paccayato j±yanti, na hettha vedag³ upalabbhat²”ti.
