up±sana½ ariñcanto [na ricchanto (s². ka.)], labhate bhattavetana½.
“‘Tatheva buddhaputtopi, karoti k±yup±sana½;
k±yup±sana½ ariñcanto, arahattamadhigacchat²”’ti.

Rañño ca therassa ca pucch±visajjan±vas±ne catur±s²tisatasahassayojanabahal± udakapariyanta½ katv± aya½ mah±pathav² chadh± kampittha, vijjullat± nicchari½su, devat± dibbapupphavassa½ pavassi½su, mah±brahm± s±dhuk±ramad±si, mah±samuddakucchiya½ meghatthanitanigghoso viya mah±ghoso ahosi, iti so milindo r±j± ca orodhagaº± ca siras± añjali½ paº±metv± vandi½su.
Milindo r±j± ativiya pamuditahadayo sumathitam±nahadayo buddhas±sane s±ramatino ratanattaye sunikkaªkho niggumbo nitthaddho hutv± therassa guºesu pabbajj±su paµipad±-iriy±pathesu ca ativiya pasanno vissattho nir±layo nihatam±natthambho uddhaµad±µho viya bhujagindo evam±ha “s±dhu, bhante n±gasena, buddhavisayo pañho tay± visajjito, imasmi½ buddhas±sane µhapetv± dhammasen±pati½ s±riputtatthera½ añño tay± sadiso pañhavisajjane natthi, khamatha, bhante n±gasena, mama accaya½, up±saka½ ma½, bhante n±gasena, dh±retha ajjatagge p±ºupeta½ saraºa½ gatan”ti.
Tad± r±j± saha balak±yehi n±gasenatthera½ payirup±sitv± milinda½ n±ma vih±ra½ k±retv± therassa niyy±tetv± cat³hi paccayehi n±gasena½ koµisatehi bhikkh³hi saddhi½ paricari, punapi therassa paññ±ya pas²ditv± puttassa rajja½ niyy±tetv± ag±rasm± anag±riya½ pabbajitv± vipassana½ va¹¹hetv± arahatta½ p±puºi, tena vutta½–
“Paññ± pasatth± lokasmi½, kat± saddhammaµµhitiy±;
paññ±ya vimati½ hantv±, santi½ papponti paº¹it±.
Yasmi½ khandhe µhit± paññ±, sati tattha an³nak±;
p³j± visesass±dh±ro, aggo seµµho [so va (p².)] anuttaro;
tasm± hi paº¹ito poso, sampassa½ hitamattano [atthamattano (p².)];
paññavanta½bhip³jeyya, cetiya½ viya s±daro”ti [p³jiyanti (p².) ito para½ tisso g±th±yo s². p². potthakesu natthi].

milindar±japañho ca, n±gasenavisajjana½;
milindo hi mah±pañño, n±gaseno supaº¹ito;
imin± puññakammena, ito gacch±mi tussita½;
metteyya½n±gate passe, suºeyya½ dhammamuttamanti.
