Idha, bhante n±gasena, yo koci samm±paµipanno nibb±na½ sacchikaroti, so uppanna½ sacchikaroti, ud±hu upp±detv± sacchikarot²”ti? “Yo koci, mah±r±ja, samm±paµipanno nibb±na½ sacchikaroti, so na uppanna½ sacchikaroti, na upp±detv± sacchikaroti, api ca, mah±r±ja, atthes± nibb±nadh±tu, ya½ so samm±paµipanno sacchikarot²”ti.
“M±, bhante n±gasena, ima½ pańha½ paµicchanna½ katv± d²pehi, vivaµa½ p±kaµa½ katv± d²pehi chandaj±to uss±haj±to, ya½ te sikkhita½, ta½ sabba½ etthev±kir±hi, etth±ya½ jano samm³¼ho vimatij±to sa½sayapakkhando, bhindeta½ antodosasallan”ti. “Atthes±, mah±r±ja, nibb±nadh±tu sant± sukh± paŗ²t±, ta½ samm±paµipanno jin±nusiµµhiy± saŖkh±re sammasanto pańń±ya sacchikaroti. “Tassa pavatte bhayadass±vissa eva½ citta½ uppajjati ‘santatta½ kho paneta½ pavatta½ sampajjalita½ bahudukkha½ bah³p±y±sa½, yadi koci labhetha appavatta½ eta½ santa½ eta½ paŗ²ta½, yadida½ sabbasaŖkh±rasamatho sabb³padhipaµinissaggo taŗhakkhayo vir±go nirodho nibb±nan’ti. “Yath±, mah±r±ja, puriso vippanaµµho videsapakkhando nibb±hanamagga½ disv± tattha pakkhandati pas²dati paha½sayati tusayati [paha½s²yati kuh²yati (s². p².)] ‘paµiladdho me nibb±hanamaggo’ti, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, pavatte bhayadass±vissa appavatte citta½ pakkhandati pas²dati paha½sayati tusayati [paha½s²yati kuh²yati (s². p².)] ‘paµiladdha½ kho me nissaraŗan’ti.
“So appavattatth±ya magga½ ±y³hati gavesati bh±veti bahul²karoti, tassa tadattha½ sati santiµµhati, tadattha½ v²riya½ santiµµhati, tadattha½ p²ti santiµµhati, tassa ta½ citta½ apar±para½ manasikaroto pavatta½ samatikkamitv± appavatta½ okkamati, appavattamanuppatto, mah±r±ja, samm±paµipanno ‘nibb±na½ sacchikarot²’ti vuccat²”ti. “S±dhu, bhante n±gasena, evameta½ tath± sampaµicch±m²”ti.
