“Bhante n±gasena, yadi eva½ ayutta½, ya½ bodhisatt±na½ bodhisattehi vemattat± hot²”ti. “Cat³hi mah±r±ja, µh±nehi bodhisatt±na½ bodhisattehi vemattat± hoti. Katamehi cat³hi? Kulavemattat± padh±navemattat± [addh±navemattat± (s². sy±. p².)] ±yuvemattat± pam±ºavemattat±ti. Imehi kho, mah±r±ja, cat³hi µh±nehi bodhisatt±na½ bodhisattehi vemattat± hoti. Sabbesampi, mah±r±ja, buddh±na½ r³pe s²le sam±dhimhi paññ±ya vimuttiy± vimuttiñ±ºadassane catuves±rajje dasatath±gatabale cha-as±dh±raºañ±ºe cuddasabuddhañ±ºe aµµh±rasabuddhadhamme kevale ca buddhaguºe [buddhadhamme (s². p².)] natthi vemattat±, sabbepi buddh± buddhadhammehi samasam±”ti.
“Yadi, bhante n±gasena, sabbepi buddh± buddhadhammehi samasam±, kena k±raºena gotameneva bodhisattena dukkarak±rik± kat±”ti? “Aparipakke, mah±r±ja, ñ±ºe aparipakk±ya bodhiy± gotamo bodhisatto nekkhammamabhinikkhanto aparipakka½ ñ±ºa½ parip±cayam±nena dukkarak±rik± kat±”ti.
“Bhante n±gasena, kena k±raºena bodhisatto aparipakke ñ±ºe aparipakk±ya bodhiy± mah±bhinikkhamana½ nikkhanto, nanu n±ma ñ±ºa½ parip±cetv± paripakke ñ±ºe nikkhamitabban”ti?
“Bodhisatto, mah±r±ja, vipar²ta½ itth±g±ra½ disv± vippaµis±r² ahosi, tassa vippaµis±rissa arati uppajji, araticitta½ uppanna½ disv± aññataro m±rak±yiko devaputto ‘aya½ kho k±lo araticittassa vinodan±y±’ti veh±se µhatv± ida½ vacanamabravi–

“Yath± pana, mah±r±ja, mahatimah±-aggikkhandho jalam±no aññena kaµµhena upa¹ahito bhiyyosomatt±ya jaleyya, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, bodhisatto pakatiy±va ukkaºµhito tass± devat±ya vacanena bhiyyosomatt±ya ubbijji sa½vijji sa½vegam±pajji.
“Yath± v± pana, mah±r±ja, mah±pathav² pakatitint± nibbattaharitasaddal± ±sittodak± cikkhallaj±t± punadeva mah±meghe abhivuµµhe bhiyyosomatt±ya cikkhallatar± assa, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, bodhisatto pakatiy±va ukkaºµhito tass± devat±ya vacanena bhiyyosomatt±ya ubbijji sa½vijji sa½vegam±pajj²”ti.
“Api nu kho, bhante n±gasena, bodhisattassa yadi sattame divase dibba½ cakkaratana½ nibbatteyya, paµinivatteyya bodhisatto dibbe cakkaratane nibbatte”ti? “Na hi, mah±r±ja, sattame divase bodhisattassa dibba½ cakkaratana½ nibbatteyya, api ca palobhanatth±ya t±ya devat±ya mus± bhaºita½, yadipi, mah±r±ja, sattame divase dibba½ cakkaratana½ nibbatteyya, bodhisatto na nivatteyya. Ki½ k±raºa½? ‘Aniccan’ti, mah±r±ja, bodhisatto da¼ha½ aggahesi, ‘dukkha½ anatt±’ti da¼ha½ aggahesi, up±d±nakkhaya½ patto.
“Yath±, mah±r±ja, anotattadahato udaka½ gaªga½ nadi½ pavisati, gaªg±ya nadiy± mah±samudda½ pavisati, mah±samuddato p±t±lamukha½ pavisati, api nu, mah±r±ja, ta½ udaka½ p±t±lamukhagata½ paµinivattitv± mah±samudda½ paviseyya, mah±samuddato gaªga½ nadi½ paviseyya, gaªg±ya nadiy± puna anotatta½ paviseyy±”ti? “Na hi, bhante”ti. “Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, bodhisattena kapp±na½ satasahassa½ caturo ca asaªkhyeyye kusala½ parip±cita½ imassa bhavassa k±raº±, soya½ antimabhavo anuppatto paripakka½ bodhiñ±ºa½ chahi vassehi buddho bhavissati sabbaññ³ loke aggapuggalo, api nu kho, mah±r±ja, bodhisatto cakkaratanak±raº± [cakkaratanassa k±raº± (s². sy±. p².)] paµinivatteyy±”ti [parinivatteyy±ti (s². p². ka.)]? “Na hi, bhante”ti.
“Api ca, mah±r±ja, mah±pathav² parivatteyya sak±nan± sapabbat±, natveva bodhisatto paµinivatteyya apatv± samm±sambodhi½. ¾roheyyapi ce, mah±r±ja, gaªg±ya udaka½ paµisota½, natveva bodhisatto paµinivatteyya apatv± samm±sambodhi½; visusseyyapi ce, mah±r±ja, mah±samuddo aparimitajaladharo gopade udaka½ viya, natveva bodhisatto paµinivatteyya apatv± samm±sambodhi½; phaleyyapi ce, mah±r±ja, sinerupabbatar±j± satadh± v± sahassadh± v±, natveva bodhisatto paµinivatteyya apatv± samm±sambodhi½; pateyyumpi ce, mah±r±ja, candimas³riy± sat±rak± le¹¹u viya cham±ya½, natveva bodhisatto paµinivatteyya apatv± samm±sambodhi½; sa½vatteyyapi ce, mah±r±ja, ±k±so kilañjamiva, natveva bodhisatto paµinivatteyya apatv± samm±sambodhi½. “Dasa kho panime, mah±r±ja, puggal± lokasmi½ oññ±t± avaññ±t± h²¼it± kh²¼it± garahit± paribh³t± acitt²kat±. Katame dasa? Itth², mah±r±ja, vidhav± lokasmi½ oññ±t± avaññ±t± h²¼it± kh²¼it± garahit± paribh³t± acitt²kat±. “Bhante n±gasena, bodhisatto dukkarak±rika½ karonto evam±ha ‘na kho pan±ha½ im±ya kaµuk±ya dukkarak±rik±ya adhigacch±mi uttarimanussadhamma½ alamariyañ±ºadassanavisesa½, siy± nu kho añño maggo bodh±y±’ti. Api nu tasmi½ samaye bodhisattassa magga½ ±rabbha satisammoso ahos²”ti?
“Pañcav²sati kho panime, mah±r±ja, cittadubbal²karaº± dhamm±, yehi dubbal²kata½ citta½ na samm± sam±dhiyati ±sav±na½ khay±ya. Katame pañcav²sati? Satasahassa½, mah±r±ja, kapp±na½ [kappe (ka.)] caturo ca asaªkhyeyye kappe bodhisatto catunna½ yeva ariyasacc±na½ abhisamaya½ anvesi t±su t±su j±t²su, ki½ panassa pacchime bhave abhisamayaj±tiya½ magga½ ±rabbha satisammoso hessati? Api ca, mah±r±ja, bodhisattassa saññ±matta½ uppajji ‘siy± nu kho añño maggo bodh±y±’ti. Pubbe kho, mah±r±ja, bodhisatto ekam±siko sam±no pitu sakkassa kammante s²t±ya jambucch±y±ya sirisayane pallaªka½ ±bhujitv± nisinno vivicceva k±mehi vicicca akusalehi dhammehi savitakka½ savic±ra½ vivekaja½ p²tisukha½ paµhama½ jh±na½ upasampajja vih±si…pe… catuttha½ jh±na½ upasampajja vih±s²”ti. “S±dhu, bhante n±gasena, evameta½ tath± sampaµicch±mi, ñ±ºa½ parip±cento bodhisatto dukkarak±rika½ ak±s²”ti.
