“‘Vadhissametanti par±masanto, k±s±vamaddakkhi dhaja½ is²na½;
dukkhena phuµµhassudap±di saññ±, arahaddhajo sabbhi avajjhar³po’ti.
“Puna ca bhaºita½ ‘jotip±lam±ºavo sam±no kassapa½ bhagavanta½ arahanta½ samm±sambuddha½ muº¹akav±dena samaºakav±dena asabbh±hi pharus±hi v±c±hi akkosi paribh±s²’ti. Yadi, bhante n±gasena, bodhisatto tiracch±nagato sam±no k±s±va½ abhip³jayi, tena hi ‘jotip±lena m±ºavena kassapo bhagav± araha½ samm±sambuddho muº¹akav±dena samaºakav±dena asabbh±hi pharus±hi v±c±hi akkuµµho paribh±sito’ti ya½ vacana½, ta½ micch±. Yadi jotip±lena m±ºavena kassapo bhagav± araha½ samm±sambuddho muº¹akav±dena samaºakav±dena asabbh±hi pharus±hi v±c±hi akkuµµho paribh±sito, tena hi ‘chaddantena n±gar±jena k±s±va½ p³jitan’ti tampi vacana½ micch±. Yadi tiracch±nagatena bodhisattena kakkha¼akharakaµukavedana½ vedayam±nena luddakena nivattha½ k±s±va½ p³jita½, ki½ manussabh³to sam±no paripakkañ±ºo paripakk±ya bodhiy± kassapa½ bhagavanta½ arahanta½ samm±sambuddha½ dasabala½ lokan±yaka½ uditodita½ jalitaby±mobh±sa½ pavaruttama½ pavararucirak±sikak±s±vamabhip±ruta½ disv± na p³jayi? Ayampi ubhato koµiko pañho tav±nuppatto, so tay± nibb±hitabboti.
“Bh±sitampeta½, mah±r±ja, bhagavat± chaddanto n±gar±j± ‘vadhissametanti…pe… avajjhar³po’ti. Jotip±lena ca m±ºavena kassapo bhagav± araha½ samm±sambuddho muº¹akav±dena samaºakav±dena asabbh±hi pharus±hi v±c±hi akkuµµho paribh±sito, tañca pana j±tivasena kulavasena. Jotip±lo, mah±r±ja, m±ºavo assaddhe appasanne kule pacc±j±to, tassa m±t±pitaro bhaginibh±taro d±sid±saceµakapariv±rakamanuss± brahmadevat± brahmagaruk±, te ‘br±hmaº± eva uttam± pavar±’ti avasese pabbajite garahanti jigucchanti, tesa½ ta½ vacana½ sutv± jotip±lo m±ºavo ghaµik±rena kumbhak±rena satth±ra½ dassan±ya pakkosito evam±ha ‘ki½ pana tena muº¹akena samaºakena diµµhen±’ti.
“Yath± mah±r±ja amata½ visam±sajja tittaka½ hoti, yath± ca s²todaka½ aggim±sajja uºha½ hoti, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, jotip±lo m±ºavo assaddhe appasanne kule pacc±j±to, so kulavasena andho hutv± [so kulaj±tivasena andho bhavitv± (sy±.)] tath±gata½ akkosi paribh±si.
“Yath±, mah±r±ja, jalitapajjalito mah±-aggikkhandho sappabh±so udakam±sajja upahatappabh±tejo s²talo k±¼ako bhavati paripakkanigguº¹iphalasadiso, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, jotip±lo m±ºavo puññav± saddho ñ±ºavipulasappabh±so assaddhe appasanne kule pacc±j±to, so kulavasena andho hutv± tath±gata½ akkosi paribh±si, upagantv± ca buddhaguºamaññ±ya ceµakabh³to viya ahosi, jinas±sane pabbajitv± abhiññ± ca sam±pattiyo ca nibbattetv± brahmalok³pago ahos²”ti. “S±dhu, bhante n±gasena, evameta½ tath± sampaµicch±m²”ti.
