Puna ca kira so lagu¼ehi paripothito bhinnas²so sañcuººitaµµhima½sadhamanichinnaparigatto parinibbuto [dhamanimajjaparikatto (s². p².), dhammanimiñjaparigatto (sy±.)]. Yadi, bhante n±gasena, thero mah±moggall±no iddhiy± koµi½ gato, tena hi lagu¼ehi pothito parinibbutoti ya½ vacana½, ta½ micch±. Yadi lagu¼ehi paripothito parinibbuto, tena hi iddhiy± koµi½ gatoti tampi vacana½ micch±. Ki½ na samattho iddhiy± attano upagh±ta½ apanayitu½, sadevakassapi lokassa paµisaraºa½ bhavitu½ arahoti? Ayampi ubhato koµiko pañho tav±nuppatto, so tay± nibb±hitabbo”ti.

“Nanu, bhante n±gasena, iddhimato iddhivisayopi kammavip±kopi dve acintiy±, acintiyena acintiya½ apanayitabba½. Yath± n±ma, bhante, keci phalak±m± kapitthena kapittha½ pothenti, ambena amba½ pothenti, evameva kho, bhante n±gasena, acintiyena acintiya½ pothayitv± apanetabban”ti? “Acintiy±nampi, mah±r±ja, eka½ adhimatta½ balavatara½, yath±, mah±r±ja, mahiy± r±j±no honti samajacc±, samajacc±nampi tesa½ eko sabbe abhibhavitv± ±ºa½ pavatteti. Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tesa½ acintiy±na½ kammavip±ka½ yeva adhimatta½ balavatara½, kammavip±ka½ yeva sabbe abhibhaviya ±ºa½ pavatteti, kamm±dhiggahitassa avases± kiriy± ok±sa½ na labhanti.
“Idha pana, mah±r±ja, koci puriso kismiñcideva pakaraºe aparajjhati, na tassa m±t± v± pit± v± bhagin² v± bh±taro v± sakh² v± sah±yak± v± [bhaginibh±taro v± sakhisah±yak± v± (s². p². ka.)] t±yanti, atha kho r±j± yeva tattha abhibhaviya ±ºa½ pavatteti. Ki½ tattha k±raºa½? Apar±dhikat±. Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tesa½ acintiy±na½ kammavip±ka½ yeva adhimatta½ balavatara½, kammavip±ka½ yeva sabbe abhibhaviya ±ºa½ pavatteti, kamm±dhiggahitassa avases± kiriy± ok±sa½ na labhanti.
“Yath± v± pana, mah±r±ja, mahiy± dava¹±he samuµµhite ghaµasahassampi udaka½ na sakkoti nibb±petu½, atha kho aggi yeva tattha abhibhaviya ±ºa½ pavatteti. Ki½ tattha k±raºa½? Balavat± tejassa. Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tesa½ acintiy±na½ kammavip±ka½ yeva adhimatta½ balavatara½, kammavip±ka½ yeva sabbe abhibhaviya ±ºa½ pavatteti, kamm±dhiggahitassa avases± kiriy± ok±sa½ na labhanti, tasm±, mah±r±ja, ±yasmato mah±moggall±nassa kamm±dhiggahitassa lagu¼ehi pothiyam±nassa iddhiy± samann±h±ro n±hos²”ti. “S±dhu, bhante n±gasena, evameta½ tath± sampaµicch±m²”ti.
