4. “Bhante n±gasena, bh±sitampeta½ therena s±riputtena dhammasen±patin± ‘parisuddhavac²sam±c±ro ±vuso tath±gato, natthi tath±gatassa vac²duccarita½, ya½ tath±gato rakkheyya ‘m± me ida½ paro aññ±s²’ti. Puna ca tath±gato therassa sudinnassa kalandaputtassa apar±dhe p±r±jika½ paññapento pharus±hi v±c±hi moghapurisav±dena samud±cari, tena ca so thero moghapurisav±dena maªkucittavasena rundhitatt± vippaµis±r² n±sakkhi ariyamagga½ paµivijjhitu½. Yadi, bhante n±gasena, parisuddhavac²sam±c±ro tath±gato, natthi tath±gatassa vac²duccarita½, tena hi tath±gatena therassa sudinnassa kalandaputtassa apar±dhe moghapurisav±dena samud±ciººanti ya½ vacana½, ta½ micch±. Yadi bhagavat± therassa sudinnassa kalandaputtassa apar±dhe moghapurisav±dena samud±ciººa½, tena hi parisuddhavac²sam±c±ro tath±gato, natthi tath±gatassa vac²duccaritanti tampi vacana½ micch±. Ayampi ubhato koµiko pañho tav±nuppatto, so tay± nibb±hitabbo”ti.
“Bh±sitampeta½, mah±r±ja, therena s±riputtena dhammasen±patin± ‘parisuddhavac²sam±c±ro ±vuso tath±gato, natthi tath±gatassa vac²duccarita½, ya½ tath±gato rakkheyya ‘m± me ida½ paro aññ±s²’ti. ¾yasmato ca sudinnassa kalandaputtassa apar±dhe p±r±jika½ paññapentena bhagavat± moghapurisav±dena samud±ciººa½, tañca pana aduµµhacittena as±rambhena y±th±valakkhaºena. Kiñca tattha y±th±valakkhaºa½, yassa, mah±r±ja, puggalassa imasmi½ attabh±ve catusacc±bhisamayo na hoti, tassa purisattana½ mogha½ añña½ kayiram±na½ aññena sambhavati, tena vuccati ‘moghapuriso’ti. Iti, mah±r±ja, bhagavat± ±yasmato sudinnassa kalandaputtassa sat±vavacanena samud±ciººa½, no abh³tav±den±”ti.
“Sabh±vampi, bhante n±gasena, yo akkosanto bhaºati, tassa maya½ kah±paºa½ daº¹a½ dh±rema, apar±dho yeva so vatthu½ niss±ya visu½ voh±ra½ ±caranto akkosat²”ti. “Atthi pana, mah±r±ja, sutapubba½ tay± khalitassa abhiv±dana½ v± paccuµµh±na½ v± sakk±ra½ v± up±yan±nuppad±na½ v±”ti? “Na hi, bhante, yato kutoci yattha katthaci khalito, so paribh±san±raho hoti tajjan±raho, uttamaªgampissa chindanti hanantipi bandhantipi gh±tentipi jh±pentip²”ti [j±pentip²ti (s². p².)]. “Tena hi, mah±r±ja, bhagavat± kiriy± yeva kat±, no akiriy±”ti.
“Kiriyampi, bhante n±gasena, kurum±nena patir³pena k±tabba½ anucchavikena, savanenapi, bhante n±gasena, tath±gatassa sadevako loko ottappati hiriyati bhiyyo dassanena tatuttari½ upasaªkamanena payirup±sanen±”ti. “Api nu kho, mah±r±ja, tikicchako abhisanne k±ye kupite dose sinehan²y±ni bhesajj±ni det²”ti? “Na hi, bhante, tiºh±ni lekhan²y±ni bhesajj±ni det²”ti. “Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tath±gato sabbakilesaby±dhiv³pasam±ya anusiµµhi½ deti, pharus±pi, mah±r±ja, tath±gatassa v±c± satte sinehayati, muduke karoti. Yath±, mah±r±ja, uºhampi udaka½ ya½ kiñci sinehan²ya½ sinehayati, muduka½ karoti, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, pharus±pi tath±gatassa v±c± atthavat² hoti karuº±sahagat±. Yath±, mah±r±ja, pituvacana½ putt±na½ atthavanta½ hoti karuº±sahagata½, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, pharus±pi tath±gatassa v±c± atthavat² hoti karuº±sahagat±. Pharus±pi, mah±r±ja, tath±gatassa v±c± satt±na½ kilesappah±n± [kilesappah±n±ya (s².)] hoti. Yath±, mah±r±ja, duggandhampi gomutta½ p²ta½ virasampi agada½ kh±yita½ satt±na½ by±dhi½ hanati, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, pharus±pi tath±gatassa v±c± atthavat² karuº±sahagat±. Yath±, mah±r±ja, mahantopi t³lapuñjo [t³lapicu (s². sy±.)] parassa k±ye nipatitv± ruja½ na karoti, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, pharus±pi tath±gatassa v±c± na kassaci dukkha½ upp±det²”ti. “Suvinicchito, bhante n±gasena, pañho bah³hi k±raºehi, s±dhu, bhante n±gasena, evameta½ tath± sampaµicch±m²”ti.
