2. “Bhante n±gasena, tumhe bhaºatha ‘tath±gato sabbasatt±na½ ahitamapanetv± hitamupadahat²’ti. Puna ca bhaºatha aggikkhandh³pame dhammapariy±ye bhaññam±ne ‘saµµhimatt±na½ bhikkh³na½ uºha½ lohita½ mukhato uggatan’ti. Aggikkhandh³pama½, bhante, dhammapariy±ya½ desentena tath±gatena saµµhimatt±na½ bhikkh³na½ hitamapanetv± ahitamupadahita½. Yadi, bhante n±gasena, tath±gato sabbasatt±na½ ahitamapanetv± hitamupadahati, tena hi aggikkhandh³pame dhammapariy±ye bhaññam±ne saµµhimatt±na½ bhikkh³na½ uºha½ lohita½ mukhato uggatanti ya½ vacana½, ta½ micch±. Yadi aggikkhandh³pame dhammapariy±ye bhaññam±ne saµµhimatt±na½ bhikkh³na½ uºha½ lohita½ mukhato uggata½, tena hi tath±gato sabbasatt±na½ ahitamapanetv± hitamupadahat²ti tampi vacana½ micch±. Ayampi ubhato koµiko pañho tav±nuppatto, so tay± nibb±hitabbo”ti.
“Tath±gato mah±r±ja, sabbasatt±na½ ahitamapanetv± hitamupadahati, aggikkhandh³pame dhammapariy±ye bhaññam±ne saµµhimatt±na½ bhikkh³na½ uºha½ lohita½ mukhato uggata½, tañca pana na tath±gatassa katena, tesa½ yeva attano katen±”ti.
“Yadi, bhante n±gasena, tath±gato aggikkhandh³pama½ dhammapariy±ya½ na bh±seyya, api nu tesa½ uºha½ lohita½ mukhato uggaccheyy±ti, na hi, mah±r±ja, micch±paµipann±na½ tesa½ bhagavato dhammapariy±ya½ sutv± pari¼±ho k±ye uppajji, tena tesa½ pari¼±hena uºha½ lohita½ mukhato uggatan”ti. “Tena hi, bhante n±gasena, tath±gatasseva katena tesa½ uºha½ lohita½ mukhato uggata½, tath±gato yeva tattha adhik±ro tesa½ n±san±ya, yath± n±ma, bhante n±gasena, ahi vammika½ paviseyya, athaññataro pa½suk±mo puriso vammika½ bhinditv± pa½su½ hareyya, tassa pa½suharaºena vammikassa susira½ pidaheyya, atha tattheva so ass±sa½ alabham±no mareyya, nanu so, bhante, ahi tassa purisassa katena maraºappatto”ti. “¾ma mah±r±j±”ti. “Evameva kho, bhante n±gasena, tath±gato yeva tattha adhik±ro tesa½ n±san±y±”ti.
“Tath±gato, mah±r±ja, dhamma½ desayam±no anunayappaµigha½ na karoti, anunayappaµighavippamutto dhamma½ deseti, eva½ dhamme des²yam±ne ye tattha samm±paµipann±, te bujjhanti. Ye pana micch±paµipann±, te patanti. Yath±, mah±r±ja, purisassa amba½ v± jambu½ v± madhuka½ v± c±layam±nassa y±ni tattha phal±ni s±r±ni da¼habandhan±ni, t±ni tattheva accut±ni tiµµhanti, y±ni tattha phal±ni p³tivaºµam³l±ni dubbalabandhan±ni, t±ni patanti. Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tath±gato dhamma½ desayam±no anunayappaµigha½ na karoti, anunayappaµighavippamutto dhamma½ deseti, eva½ dhamme des²yam±ne ye tattha samm±paµipann±, te bujjhanti. Ye pana micch±paµipann±, te patanti.
“Yath± v± pana, mah±r±ja, kassako dhañña½ ropetuk±mo khetta½ kasati, tassa kasantassa anekasatasahass±ni tiº±ni maranti. Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tath±gato paripakkam±nase satte bodhento [bodhetu½ (s².)] anunayappaµighavippamutto dhamma½ deseti, eva½ dhamme des²yam±ne ye tattha samm±paµipann±, te bujjhanti. Ye pana micch±paµipann±, te tiº±ni viya maranti.
“Yath± v± pana, mah±r±ja, manuss± rasahetu yantena ucchu½ p²¼ayanti, tesa½ ucchu½ p²¼ayam±n±na½ ye tattha yantamukhagat± kimayo, te p²¼iyanti. Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tath±gato paripakkam±nase satte bodhento dhammayantamabhip²¼ayati [dhammayantamatip²¼ayati (ka.)], ye tattha micch±paµipann±, te kim² viya marant²”ti.
“Nanu, bhante n±gasena, te bhikkh³ t±ya dhammadesan±ya patit±”ti? “Api nu kho, mah±r±ja, tacchako rukkha½ tacchanto [rakkhanto (s². p².] ujuka½ parisuddha½ karot²”ti? “Na hi, bhante, vajjan²ya½ apanetv± tacchako rukkha½ ujuka½ parisuddha½ karot²”ti. “Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tath±gato parisa½ rakkhanto na sakkoti bodhaneyye [abodhan²ye (sy±.)] satte bodhetu½, micch±paµipanne pana satte apanetv± bodhaneyye satte bodheti, attakatena pana te, mah±r±ja, micch±paµipann± patanti.
“Yath±, mah±r±ja, kadal² ve¼u assatar² attajena [attajena phalena (s².)] haññati, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, ye te micch±paµipann±, te attakatena haññanti patanti.
“Yath±, mah±r±ja, cor± attakatena cakkhupp±µana½ s³l±ropana½ s²sacchedana½ p±puºanti, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, ye te micch±paµipann±, te attakatena haññanti patanti [jinas±san± patanti (s². p².)]. Yesa½, mah±r±ja, saµµhimatt±na½ bhikkh³na½ uºha½ lohita½ mukhato uggata½, tesa½ ta½ neva bhagavato katena, na paresa½ katena, atha kho attano yeva katena.
“Yath±, mah±r±ja, puriso sabbajanassa amata½ dadeyya, te ta½ amata½ asitv± arog± d²gh±yuk± sabb²tito [sabb²tiy± (s².)] parimucceyyu½, athaññataro puriso durupac±rena ta½ asitv± maraºa½ p±puºeyya, api nu kho so, mah±r±ja, amatad±yako puriso tatonid±na½ kiñci apuñña½ ±pajjeyy±”ti? “Na hi, bhante”ti. “Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tath±gato dasasahassiy± lokadh±tuy± devamanuss±na½ amata½ dhammad±na½ deti, ye te satt± bhabb±, te dhamm±matena bujjhanti. Ye pana te satt± abhabb±, te dhamm±matena haññanti patanti. Bhojana½, mah±r±ja, sabbasatt±na½ j²vita½ rakkhati, tamekacce bhuñjitv± vis³cik±ya maranti, api nu kho so, mah±r±ja, bhojanad±yako puriso tatonid±na½ kiñci apuñña½ ±pajjeyy±”ti? “Na hi, bhante”ti. “Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, tath±gato dasasahassiy± lokadh±tuy± devamanuss±na½ amata½ dhammad±na½ deti, ye te satt± bhabb±, te dhamm±matena bujjhanti. Ye pana te satt± abhabb±, te dhamm±matena haññanti patant²”ti. “S±dhu, bhante n±gasena, evameta½ tath± sampaµicch±m²”ti.
