Puna ca tath±gato pañcas±la½ br±hmaºag±ma½ piº¹±ya pavisitv± kiñcideva alabhitv± yath±dhotena pattena nikkhantoti. Yadi, bhante n±gasena, tath±gato l±bh² c²varapiº¹ap±tasen±sanagil±nappaccayabhesajjaparikkh±r±na½, tena hi pañcas±la½ br±hmaºag±ma½ piº¹±ya pavisitv± kiñcideva alabhitv± yath±dhotena pattena nikkhantoti ya½ vacana½, ta½ micch±. Yadi pañcas±la½ br±hmaºag±ma½ piº¹±ya pavisitv± kiñcideva alabhitv± yath±dhotena pattena nikkhanto, tena hi l±bh² tath±gato c²varapiº¹ap±tasen±sanagil±nappaccayabhesajjaparikkh±r±nanti tampi vacana½ micch±. Ayampi ubhato koµiko pañho sumahanto dunnibbeµho tav±nuppatto, so tay± nibb±hitabbo”ti.
“L±bh², mah±r±ja, tath±gato c²varapiº¹ap±tasen±sanagil±nappaccayabhesajjaparikkh±r±na½, pañcas±lañca br±hmaºag±ma½ piº¹±ya pavisitv± kiñcideva alabhitv± yath±dhotena pattena nikkhanto, tañca pana m±rassa p±pimato k±raº±”ti. “Tena hi, bhante n±gasena, bhagavato gaºanapatha½ v²tivattakappe [gaºanapathav²tivatte kappe (s².)] abhisaªkhata½ kusala½ kinti niµµhita½, adhunuµµhitena m±rena p±pimat± tassa kusalassa balavega½ [ta½ kusalabalavegavipph±ra½ (s².)] kinti pihita½, tena hi, bhante n±gasena, tasmi½ vatthusmi½ dv²su µh±nesu upav±do ±gacchati, kusalatopi akusala½ balavatara½ hoti, buddhabalatopi m±rabala½ balavatara½ hot²ti, tena hi rukkhassa m³latopi agga½ bh±ratara½ hoti, guºasamparikiººatopi p±piya½ balavatara½ hot²”ti. “Na, mah±r±ja, t±vatakena kusalatopi akusala½ balavatara½ n±ma hoti, na buddhabalatopi m±rabala½ balavatara½ n±ma hoti. Api cettha k±raºa½ icchitabba½.
“Yath±, mah±r±ja, puriso rañño cakkavattissa madhu½ v± madhupiº¹ika½ v± añña½ v± up±yana½ abhihareyya, tamena½ rañño dv±rap±lo eva½ vadeyya ‘ak±lo, bho, aya½ rañño dassan±ya, tena hi, bho, tava up±yana½ gahetv± s²ghas²gha½ paµinivatta, pure tava r±j± daº¹a½ dh±ressat²’ti [m± te r±j± daº¹a½ p±peyy±ti (s².)]. Tato so puriso daº¹abhay± tasito ubbiggo ta½ up±yana½ ±d±ya s²ghas²gha½ paµinivatteyya, api nu kho so, mah±r±ja, r±j± cakkavatt² t±vatakena up±yanavikalamattakena dv±rap±lato dubbalataro n±ma hoti añña½ v± pana kiñci up±yana½ na labheyy±”ti? “Na hi, bhante, iss±pakato so, bhante, dv±rap±lo up±yana½ niv±resi, aññena pana dv±rena satasahassaguºampi rañño up±yana½ upet²”ti “Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, iss±pakato m±ro p±pim± pañcas±lake br±hmaºagahapatike anv±visi, aññ±ni pana anek±ni devat±satasahass±ni amata½ dibba½ oja½ gahetv± upagat±ni ‘bhagavato k±ye oja½ odahiss±m±’ti bhagavanta½ namassam±n±ni pañjalik±ni µhit±n²”ti.
“Hotu, bhante n±gasena, sulabh± bhagavato catt±ro paccay± loke uttamapurisassa, y±citova bhagav± devamanussohi catt±ro paccaye paribhuñjati, api ca kho pana m±rassa yo adhipp±yo, so t±vatakena siddho, ya½ so bhagavato bhojanassa antar±yamak±si. Ettha me, bhante, kaªkh± na chijjati, vimatij±toha½ tattha sa½sayapakkhando. Na me tattha m±nasa½ pakkhandati, ya½ tath±gatassa arahato samm±sambuddhassa sadevake loke aggapuggalavarassa kusalavarapuññasambhavassa asamasamassa anupamassa appaµisamassa chavaka½ l±maka½ paritta½ p±pa½ anariya½ vipanna½ m±ro l±bhantar±yamak±s²”ti.
“Catt±ro kho, mah±r±ja, antar±y± adiµµhantar±yo uddissa katantar±yo upakkhaµantar±yo paribhogantar±yoti. Tattha katamo adiµµhantar±yo? Anodissa adassanena anabhisaªkhata½ koci antar±ya½ karoti ‘ki½ parassa dinnen±’ti, aya½ adiµµhantar±yo n±ma.
“Katamo uddissa katantar±yo? Idhekacca½ puggala½ upadisitv± uddissa bhojana½ paµiyatta½ hoti, ta½ koci antar±ya½ karoti, aya½ uddissa katantar±yo n±ma.
“Katamo upakkhaµantar±yo? Idha ya½ kiñci upakkhaµa½ hoti appaµiggahita½, tattha koci antar±ya½ karoti, aya½ upakkhaµantar±yo n±ma.
“Katamo paribhogantar±yo? Idha ya½ kiñci paribhoga½, tattha koci antar±ya½ karoti, aya½ paribhogantar±yo n±ma. Ime kho, mah±r±ja, catt±ro antar±y±.
“Ya½ pana m±ro p±pim± pañcas±lake br±hmaºagahapatike anv±visi, ta½ neva bhagavato paribhoga½ na upakkhaµa½ na uddissakata½, an±gata½ asampatta½ adassanena antar±ya½ kata½, ta½ pana nekassa bhagavato yeva, atha kho ye te tena samayena nikkhant± abbh±gat±, sabbepi te ta½ divasa½ bhojana½ na labhi½su, n±ha½ ta½, mah±r±ja, pass±mi sadevake loke sam±rake sabrahmake sassamaºabr±hmaºiy± paj±ya sadevamanuss±ya, yo tassa bhagavato uddissa kata½ upakkhaµa½ paribhoga½ antar±ya½ kareyya. Sace koci iss±ya uddissa kata½ upakkhaµa½ paribhoga½ antar±ya½ kareyya, phaleyya tassa muddh± satadh± v± sahassadh± v±.
“Catt±rome, mah±r±ja, tath±gatassa kenaci an±varaº²y± guº±. Katame catt±ro? L±bho, mah±r±ja, bhagavato uddissa kato upakkhaµo na sakk± kenaci antar±ya½ k±tu½; sar²r±nugat± mah±r±ja, bhagavato by±mappabh± na sakk± kenaci antar±ya½ k±tu½; sabbaññuta½, mah±r±ja, bhagavato ñ±ºaratana½ na sakk± kenaci antar±ya½ k±tu½; j²vita½, mah±r±ja, bhagavato na sakk± kenaci antar±ya½ k±tu½. Ime kho, mah±r±ja, catt±ro tath±gatassa kenaci an±varaº²y± guº±, sabbepete, mah±r±ja, guº± ekaras± arog± akupp± apar³pakkam± aphus±ni kiriy±ni. Adassanena, mah±r±ja, m±ro p±pim± nil²yitv± pañcas±lake br±hmaºagahapatike anv±visi.
“Yath±, mah±r±ja, rañño paccante dese visame adassanena nil²yitv± cor± pantha½ d³senti. Yadi pana r±j± te core passeyya, api nu kho te cor± sotthi½ labheyyun”ti? “Na hi, bhante, pharasun± ph±l±peyya satadh± v± sahassadh± v±”ti. “Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, adassanena m±ro p±pim± nil²yitv± pañcas±lake br±hmaºagahapatike anv±visi.
“Yath± v± pana, mah±r±ja, itth² sapatik± adassanena nil²yitv± parapurisa½ sevati, evameva kho, mah±r±ja, adassanena m±ro p±pim± nil²yitv± pañcas±lake br±hmaºagahapatike anv±visi. Yadi, mah±r±ja, itth² s±mikassa sammukh± parapurisa½ sevati, api nu kho s± itth² sotthi½ labheyy±”ti? “Na hi, bhante, haneyy±pi ta½, bhante, s±miko vadheyy±pi bandheyy±pi d±sitta½ v± upaneyy±”ti. “Evameva kho, mah±r±ja, adassanena m±ro p±pim± nil²yitv± pañcas±lake br±hmaºagahapatike anv±visi. Yadi, mah±r±ja, m±ro p±pim± bhagavato uddissa kata½ upakkhaµa½ paribhoga½ antar±ya½ kareyya, phaleyya tassa muddh± satadh± v± sahassadh± v±”ti. “Evameta½, bhante n±gasena, corik±ya kata½ m±rena p±pimat±, nil²yitv± m±ro p±pim± pañcas±lake br±hmaºagahapatike anv±visi. Sace so, bhante, m±ro p±pim± bhagavato uddissa kata½ upakkhaµa½ paribhoga½ antar±ya½ kareyya, muddh± v±ssa phaleyya satadh± v± sahassadh± v±, k±yo v±ssa bhusamuµµhi viya vikireyya, s±dhu, bhante n±gasena, evameta½ tath± sampaµicch±m²”ti.
