Buddh±nussati½ bh±ventop²ti-±d²ni cha pad±ni maraºassati½ bh±ventopi, upasam±nussati½ bh±ventop²ti im±ni ca upac±rajjh±navasena vutt±ni. ¾n±p±nassati½ bh±ventopi, k±yagat±sati½ bh±ventopi, paµhama½ jh±na½ bh±ventop²ti-±d²ni nevasaññ±n±saññ±yatanasam±patti½ bh±ventop²ti pariyos±n±ni appan±jjh±navasena vutt±ni. “Seyyath±pi gahapati, kukkuro jighacch±dubbalyapareto gogh±takas³na½ paccupaµµhito assa, tamena½ dakkho gogh±tako v± gogh±takantev±s² v± aµµhikaªkala½ sunikkanta½ nikkanta½ nimma½sa½ lohitamakkhita½ upasumbheyya. Ya½n³n±ha½ ima½ rukkha½ ±rohitv± y±vadatthañca kh±deyya½, ucchaªgañca p³reyyan’ti? So ta½ rukkha½ ±rohitv± y±vadatthañca kh±deyya, ucchaªgañca p³reyya. Atha dutiyo puriso ±gaccheyya phalatthiko phalagaves² phalapariyesana½ caram±no tiºha½ kuµh±ri½ ±d±ya. So ta½ vanasaº¹a½ ajjhog±hetv± ta½ rukkha½ passeyya sampannaphalañca upapannaphalañca. Tassa evamassa ‘aya½ kho rukkho sampannaphalo ca upapannaphalo ca, natthi ca k±nici phal±ni bh³miya½ patit±ni, na kho pan±ha½ j±n±mi rukkha½ ±rohitu½. Ya½n³n±ha½ ima½ rukkha½ m³lato chetv± y±vadatthañca kh±deyya½, ucchaªgañca p³reyyan’ti. So ta½ rukkha½ m³latova chindeyya. Ta½ ki½ maññasi gahapati, amuko so puriso paµhama½ rukkha½ ±r³¼ho, sace so na khippameva oroheyya, tassa so rukkho papatanto hattha½ v± bhañjeyya p±da½ v± bhañjeyya aññatara½ v± aññatara½ v± aªgapaccaªga½ bhañjeyya, so tatonid±na½ maraºa½ v± nigaccheyya, maraºamatta½ v± dukkhan”ti? “Eva½, bhante”. “Evameva kho, gahapati, ariyas±vako iti paµisañcikkhati ‘rukkhaphal³pam± k±m± vutt± bhagavat± bahudukkh± bahup±y±s±, ±d²navo ettha bhiyyo’ti.
