Tattha gacche v±ti, mah±r±ja, aha½ ito gaccheyya½ v± na v±, n±ha½ tena gamanena v± agamanena v± amaro siya½, ahañhi ito gatopi agatopi maraºato amuttova, ito pubbe pana sukhita½ ta½ up±sitv± id±ni dukkhita½ ta½ katha½ jaheyyanti vadati. Maraºa½ v±ti mama agacchantassa v± tay± saddhi½ maraºa½ bhaveyya, gacchantassa v± tay± vin± j²vita½. Tesu dv²su ya½ tay± saddhi½ maraºa½, tadeva me vara½, ya½ tay± vin± j²veyya½, na me ta½ varanti attho. Ruccateti y± tava gati nipphatti, s±va mayha½ ruccati. S± kathanti samma sumukha mama t±va da¼hena v±lap±sena baddhassa parahattha½ gatassa s± gati ruccatu, tava pana cetay±nassa sacetanassa paññavato muttassa katha½ ruccati.
Pakkhim±ti pakkhasampanna. Ubhinnanti amh±ka½ dvinna½ j²vitakkhaye sati tva½ mama v± tava v± avasiµµhañ±t²na½ v± ka½ attha½ passasi. Ya½ n±ti ettha na-k±ro upam±ne. Kañcanadepiñch±ti kañcanadvepiñcha, ayameva v± p±µho, kañcanasadisa-ubhayapakkh±ti attho. Tamas±ti tamasi. Gatanti kata½, ayameva v± p±µho. Purimassa na-k±rassa imin± sambandho, “na katan”ti kata½ viy±ti attho. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– tayi p±ºa½ cajantepi acajantepi mama j²vitassa abh±v± ya½ tava p±ºasañcajana½, ta½ andhena tamasi kata½ viya kiñcideva r³pakamma½ apaccakkhaguºa½, t±dise tava apaccakkhaguºe p±ºasañcajane tva½ p±ºa½ sañcajanto kamattha½ joteyy±s²ti.
Dhammo apacito santoti dhammo p³jito m±nito sam±no. Attha½ dasset²ti vuddhi½ dasseti. Apekkh±noti apekkhanto. Dhamm± catthanti dhammato ca attha½ samuµµhita½ passanto Bhattinti sineha½. Sata½ dhammoti paº¹it±na½ sabh±vo. Yo mittoti yo mitto ±pad±su mitta½ na caje, tassa acajantassa mittassa esa sabh±vo n±ma addh± sata½ dhammo. Vidit±ti p±kaµ± j±t±. K±ma½ karass³ti eta½ mama k±ma½ may± icchita½ mama vacana½ karassu. Api tveva½ gate k±leti api tu eva½ gate k±le mayi imasmi½ µh±ne p±sena baddhe. Paramasa½vutanti paramaparipuººa½.
Icceva½ mantayant±nanti “gaccha, na gacch±m²”ti eva½ kathent±na½ ariy±nanti ±c±ra-ariy±na½. Paccadissath±ti k±s±y±ni niv±setv± rattam±la½ pi¼andhitv± muggara½ ±d±ya ±gacchanto adissatha. ¾tur±nanti gil±n±na½ maccu viya. Abhisañcikkh±ti, bhikkhave, te ubhopi sattu½ ±yanta½ passitv±. Hit±ti d²gharatta½ aññamaññassa hit± muducitt±. Na sañcalesum±san±ti ±sanato na cali½su, yath±nisinn±va ahesu½. Sumukho pana “aya½ nes±do ±gantv± paharanto ma½ paµhama½ paharat³”ti cintetv± mah±satta½ pacchato katv± nis²di.
Dhataraµµheti ha½se. Samu¹¹enteti maraºabhayena ito cito ca uppatante disv±. ¾sajj±ti itare dve jane upagantv±. Paccakamitth±ti “baddh±, na baddh±”ti cintento upadh±rento akamittha, vega½ h±petv± saºika½ agam±si. ¾sajja baddham±s²nanti baddha½ mah±satta½ upagantv± nisinna½ sumukha½. Ad²navanti-±d²navameva hutv± mah±satta½ olokenta½ disv±. Vimatoti ki½ nu kho abaddho baddhassa santike nisinno, k±raºa½ pucchiss±m²ti vimatij±to hutv±ti attho. Paº¹areti ha½se, atha v± parisuddhe nimmale, sampahaµµhakañcanavaººeti attho. Pava¹¹hak±yeti va¹¹hitak±ye mah±sar²re. Ya½ n³ti ya½ t±va eso mah±p±sena baddho. Na kurute disanti pal±yanatth±ya eka½ disa½ na bhajati, ta½ yuttanti adhipp±yo. Bal²ti balasampanno hutv±pi. Pakkh²ti ta½ ±lapati. Oh±y±ti cha¹¹etv±. Yant²ti sesasakuº± gacchanti. Avah²yas²ti oh²yasi.
Dij±mitt±ti dij±na½ amitta. Y±va k±lassa pariy±yanti y±va maraºassa v±ro ±gacchati. Katha½ pan±yanti tva½ r±j± me soti vadasi, r±j±no ca n±ma paº¹it± honti, itipi paº¹ito sam±no kena k±raºena o¹¹ita½ p±sa½ na addasa. Pada½ hetanti yasamahatta½ v± ñ±ºamahatta½ v± patt±na½ attano ±padabujjhana½ n±ma pada½ k±raºa½, tasm± te ±pada½ boddhumarahanti. Par±bhavoti ava¹¹hi. ¾sajj±p²ti upagantv±pi na bujjhati. Tat±ti vitat± o¹¹it±. Guyham±sajj±ti tesu p±sesu yo gu¼ho paµicchanno p±so, ta½ ±sajja bajjhanti. Athevanti atha eva½ j²vitakkhaye bajjhantev±ti attho.
Iti na½ so kath±sall±pena muduhadaya½ katv± mah±sattassa j²vita½ y±canto g±tham±ha–
25. “Api n±ya½ tay± saddhi½, sa½v±sassa sukhudrayo;
api no anumaññ±si, api no j²vita½ dade”ti.
Tattha api n±yanti api nu aya½. Sukhudrayoti sukhaphalo. Api no anumaññ±s²ti cittak³µa½ gantv± ñ±take passitu½ tva½ api no anuj±neyy±si. Api no j²vita½ dadeti api no im±ya kath±ya uppannaviss±so na m±reyy±s²ti.
So tassa madhurakath±ya bajjhitv± g±tham±ha–
26. “Na ceva me tva½ baddhosi, napi icch±mi te vadha½;
k±ma½ khippamito gantv±, j²va tva½ anigho ciran”ti.
Tato sumukho catasso g±th± abh±si–
27. “Nev±hametamicch±mi aññatretassa j²vit±;
sace ekena tuµµhosi, muñceta½ mañca bhakkhaya.
28. “¾rohapariº±hena, tuly±sm± vayas± ubho;
na te l±bhena j²vatthi, etena nimin± tuva½.
29. “Tadiªgha samapekkhassu, hotu giddhi tavamhasu;
ma½ pubbe bandha p±sena, pacch± muñca dij±dhipa½.
30. “T±vadeva ca te l±bho, kat±ssa y±can±ya ca;
mitti ca dhataraµµhehi, y±vaj²v±ya te siy±”ti.
Tattha etanti ya½ aññatra etassa j²vit± mama j²vita½, eta½ aha½ neva icch±mi. Tuly±sm±ti sam±n± homa. Nimin± tuvanti parivattehi tva½. Tavamhas³ti tava amhesu giddhi hotu, ki½ te etena, mayi lobha½ upp±deh²ti vadati. T±vadev±ti tattakoyeva. Y±can±ya c±ti y± mama y±can±, s±va kat± ass±ti attho.
Iti so t±ya dhammadesan±ya tele pakkhittakapp±sapicu viya mudugatahadayo mah±satta½ tassa d±ya½ katv± dadanto ±ha–
31. “Passantu no mah±saªgh±, tay± mutta½ ito gata½;
mitt±macc± ca bhacc± ca, puttad±r± ca bandhav±.
32. “Na ca te t±dis± mitt±, bah³na½ idha vijjati;
yath± tva½ dhataraµµhassa, p±ºas±dh±raºo sakh±.
33. “So te sah±ya½ muñc±mi, hotu r±j± tav±nugo;
k±ma½ khippamito gantv±, ñ±timajjhe virocath±”ti.
Tattha noti nip±tamatta½. Tay± muttanti imañhi tvaññeva muñcasi n±ma, tasm± ima½ tay± mutta½ ito cittak³µapabbata½ gata½ mahant± ñ±tisaªgh± ete ca mitt±dayo passantu. Ettha ca bandhav±ti ekalohitasambandh±. Vijjat²ti vijjanti. P±ºas±dh±raºoti s±dh±raºap±ºo avibhattaj²viko, yath± tva½ etassa sakh±, et±dis± aññesa½ bah³na½ mitt± n±ma na vijjanti. Tav±nugoti eta½ dukkhita½ ±d±ya purato gacchantassa tava aya½ anugo hot³ti.
