Bodhisatto “imassa rañño by±dhi natthi, bhariya½ pana apassanto cetasikarogena phuµµho, up±yena ta½ tikicchiss±m²”ti ±yurañca pukkusañc±ti dve rañño paº¹it±macce ±mantetv± “rañño deviy± adassanena cetasika½ roga½ µhapetv± añño rogo natthi, bah³pak±ro ca kho pana amh±ka½ r±j±, tasm± up±yena na½ tikicch±ma, r±jaªgaºe samajja½ k±retv± asi½ gilitu½ j±nantena asi½ gil±petv± r±j±na½ s²hapañjare katv± samajja½ olok±pess±ma, r±j± asi½ gilanta½ disv± ‘atthi nu kho ito añña½ dukkarataran’ti pañha½ pucchissati. Ta½ samma ±yura, tva½ ‘asuka½ n±ma dad±m²ti vacana½ ito dukkarataran’ti by±kareyy±si, tato samma pukkusa, ta½ pucchissati, athassa tva½ ‘mah±r±ja, dad±m²ti vatv± adadato s± v±c± aphal± hoti, tath±r³pa½ v±ca½ na keci upaj²vanti na kh±danti na pivanti, ye pana tassa vacanass±nucchavika½ karonti, yath±paµiññ±tamattha½ dentiyeva, ida½ tato dukkarataran’ti eva½ by±kareyy±si, ito para½ kattabba½ aha½ j±niss±m²”ti vatv± samajja½ k±resi.
Atha te tayopi paº¹it± rañño santika½ gantv± “mah±r±ja, r±jaªgaºe samajjo vattati, ta½ olokent±na½ dukkhampi na dukkha½ hoti, ehi gacch±m±”ti r±j±na½ netv± s²hapañjara½ vivaritv± samajja½ olok±pesu½. Bah³ jan± attano attano j±nanakasippa½ dassesu½. Eko pana puriso tetti½saªgula½ tikhiºadh±ra½ asiratana½ gilati. R±j± ta½ disv± “aya½ puriso eta½ asi½ gilati, ‘atthi nu kho ito añña½ dukkarataran’ti ime paº¹ite pucchiss±m²”ti cintetv± ±yura½ pucchanto paµhama½ g±tham±ha–

Tattha paººakanti paººakaraµµhe uppanna½. Sampannap±yinanti sampanna½ paralohitap±yina½. Paris±yanti parisamajjhe dhanalobhena aya½ puriso gilati. Yadaññanti ito asigilanato ya½ añña½ dukkaratara½ k±raºa½, ta½ may± pucchito katheh²ti.

Tattha vajj±ti vadeyya. Ta½ dukkarataranti “dad±m²”ti vacana½ tato asigilanato dukkaratara½. Sabbaññanti “asuka½ n±ma tava dass±m²”ti vacana½ µhapetv± añña½ sabbampi k±raºa½ sukara½. Maddav±ti r±j±na½ gottena ±lapati.
Rañño ±yurapaº¹itassa vacana½ sutv± “asigilanato kira ‘ida½ n±ma damm²’ti vacana½ dukkara½, ahañca ‘purohitaputtassa devi½ damm²’ti avaca½, atidukkara½ vata me katan”ti v²ma½santasseva hadayasoko thoka½ tanutta½ gato. So tato “parassa ima½ damm²ti vacanato pana añña½ dukkaratara½ atthi nu kho”ti cintetv± pukkusapaº¹itena saddhi½ sallapanto tatiya½ g±tham±ha–

pukkusa½ d±ni pucch±mi, ki½ dukkaratara½ tato;

Tattha pañha½ atthanti pañhassa attha½ by±k±s²ti vutta½ hoti. Dhammassa kovidoti tadatthajotake ganthe kusalo. Tatoti tato vacanato ki½ dukkarataranti.

Tattha datv±ti “asuka½ n±ma damm²”ti paµiñña½ datv±. Av±kayir±ti ta½ paµiññ±tamattha½ dadanto tasmi½ lobha½ av±kareyya chindeyya, ta½ bhaº¹a½ dadeyy±ti vutta½ hoti. Tatoti tato asigilanato “asuka½ n±ma te damm²”ti vacanato ca tadeva dukkaratara½.
Rañño ta½ vacana½ sutv± “aha½ ‘purohitaputtassa devi½ damm²’ti paµhama½ vatv± v±c±ya anucchavika½ katv± ta½ ad±si½, dukkara½ vata me katan”ti parivitakkentassa soko tanukataro j±to. “Adu c±pa½ gahetv±na, khagga½ bandhiya v±mato;
±ness±mi sake putte, putt±nañhi vadho dukho.
“Aµµh±nameta½ dukkhar³pa½, ya½ kum±r± vihaññare;

R±j±pi bodhisattassa vacana½ sutv± sallakkhesi “aha½ attano maneneva purohitaputtassa devi½ datv± sakamana½ sandh±retu½ na sakkomi, soc±mi kilam±mi, na me ida½ anucchavika½, sace s± mayi sasineh± bhaveyya ima½ issariya½ cha¹¹etv± na pal±yeyya, mayi pana sineha½ akatv± pal±t±ya ki½ t±ya mayhan”ti. Tasseva½ cintentassa padumapatte udakabindu viya sabbasoko nivattitv± gato, taªkhaºaññevassa kucchi parisaºµh±si. So nirogo sukhito hutv± bodhisattassa thuti½ karonto os±nag±tham±ha–
45. “By±k±si ±yuro pañha½, atho pukkusaporiso;
sabbe pañhe atibhoti, yath± bh±sati senako”ti.
Tattha yath± bh±sat²ti yath± paº¹ito bh±sati, tatheveta½ d±na½ n±ma datv± neva anutappitabbanti. Ima½ panassa thuti½ katv± tuµµho bahu½ dhanamad±si.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± sacc±ni pak±setv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi, saccapariyos±ne ukkaºµhitabhikkhu sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi. Tad± r±jamahes² pur±ºadutiyik± ahosi, r±j± ukkaºµhitabhikkhu, ±yurapaº¹ito moggall±no, pukkusapaº¹ito s±riputto, senakapaº¹ito ahameva ahosinti.
