R±j± k²¼anatth±ya uyy±na½ gantv± tattha vicaritv± ta½ geha½ pavisitv± ullokento kaººikamaº¹ala½ disv± attano uparipatanabhayena nikkhamitv± bahi µhito puna oloketv± “ki½ nu kho niss±ya kaººik± µhit±, ki½ niss±ya gop±nasiyo”ti cintetv± bodhisatta½ pucchanto paµhama½ g±tham±ha–
1. “Diya¹¹hakukk³ udayena kaººik±, vidatthiyo aµµha parikkhipanti na½;
s± si½sap±, s±ramay± aphegguk±, kuhi½ µhit± upparito na dha½sat²”ti.
Tattha diya¹¹hakukk³ti diya¹¹haratan±. Udayen±ti uccattena. Parikkhipanti nanti ta½ paneta½ aµµha vidatthiyo parikkhipanti, parikkhepato aµµhavidatthipam±º±ti vutta½ hoti. Kuhi½ µhit±ti kattha patiµµhit± hutv±. Na dha½sat²ti na patati.

3. “Evampi mittehi da¼hehi paº¹ito, abhejjar³pehi suc²hi mantibhi;
susaªgah²to siriy± na dha½sati, gop±nas²bh±ravah±va kaººik±”ti.

R±j± bodhisatte kathenteyeva attano kiriya½ sallakkhetv± kaººik±ya asati gop±nasiyo na tiµµhanti, gop±nas²hi asaªgahit± kaººik± na tiµµhati, gop±nas²su bhijjant²su kaººik± patati, evameva adhammiko r±j± attano mitt±macce ca balak±ye ca br±hmaºagahapatike ca asaªgaºhanto tesu bhijjantesu tehi asaªgahito issariy± dha½sati, raññ± n±ma dhammikena bhavitabbanti. Athassa tasmi½ khaºe paºº±k±ratth±ya m±tuluªga½ ±hari½su. R±j± “sah±ya, ima½ m±tuluªga½ kh±d±”ti bodhisatta½ ±ha. Bodhisatto ta½ gahetv± “mah±r±ja, ima½ kh±ditu½ aj±nant± tittaka½ v± karonti ambila½ v±, j±nant± pana paº¹it± tittaka½ h±retv± ambila½ an²haritv± m±tuluªgarasa½ an±setv±va kh±dant²”ti rañño im±ya upam±ya dhanasaªgharaº³p±ya½ dassento dve g±th± abh±si–
4. “Kharattaca½ bella½ yath±pi satthav±, an±masantopi karoti tittaka½;
sam±hara½ s±du½ karoti patthiva, as±du½ kayir± tanubandhamuddhara½.
5. “Evampi g±manigamesu paº¹ito, as±hasa½ r±jadhan±ni saªghara½;
dhamm±nuvatt² paµipajjam±no, sa ph±ti kayir± aviheµhaya½ paran”ti.
Tattha kharattacanti thaddhataca½. Bellanti m±tuluªga½. ‘Belan”tipi p±µho, ayamevattho. Satthav±ti satthakahattho. An±masantoti bahitaca½ tanukampi atacchanto ida½ phala½ tittaka½ karoti. Sam±haranti sam±haranto bahitaca½ tacchanto anto ca ambila½ an²haranto ta½ s±du½ karoti. Patthiv±ti r±j±na½ ±lapati. Tanubandhamuddharanti tanuka½ pana taca½ uddharanto sabbaso tittakassa anapan²tatt± ta½ as±dumeva kayir±. Evanti eva½ paº¹ito r±j±pi as±hasa½ s±hasiy± taºh±ya vasa½ agacchanto agatigamana½ pah±ya raµµha½ ap²¼etv± upacik±na½ vammikava¹¹hananiy±mena madhukar±na½ reºu½ gahetv± madhukaraºaniy±mena ca dhana½ saªgharanto–
“D±na½ s²la½ paricc±ga½, ajjava½ maddava½ tapa½;
akkodha½ avihi½sañca, khantiñca avirodhanan”ti.–

R±j± bodhisattena saddhi½ mantento pokkharaº²t²ra½ gantv± supupphita½ b±las³riyavaººa½ udakena anupalitta½ paduma½ disv± ±ha– “sah±ya, ima½ paduma½ udake sañj±tameva udakena alimpam±na½ µhitan”ti. Atha na½ bodhisatto “mah±r±ja, raññ± n±ma evar³pena bhavitabban”ti ovadanto im± g±th± ±ha–
6. “Od±tam³la½ suciv±risambhava½, j±ta½ yath± pokkharaº²su ambuja½;
paduma½ yath± agginik±siph±lima½, na kaddamo na rajo na v±ri limpati.
7. “Evampi voh±rasuci½ as±hasa½, visuddhakammantamapetap±paka½;
na limpati kammakilesa t±diso, j±ta½ yath± pokkharaº²su ambujan”ti.
Tattha od±tam³lanti paº¹aram³la½. Ambujanti padumasseva vevacana½. Agginik±siph±limanti agginik±sin± s³riyena ph±lita½ vikasitanti attho. Na kaddamo na rajo na v±ri limpat²ti neva kaddamo na rajo na udaka½ limpati, na makkhet²ti attho. “Lippati”cceva v± p±µho, bhummatthe v± et±ni paccattavacan±ni, etesu kaddam±d²su na lippati, na all²yat²ti attho. Voh±rasucinti por±ºakehi dhammikar±j³hi likh±petv± µhapitavinicchayavoh±re suci½, agatigamana½ pah±ya dhammena vinicchayak±rakanti attho. As±hasanti dhammikavinicchaye µhitatt±yeva s±hasikakiriy±ya virahita½. Visuddhakammantanti teneva as±hasikaµµhena visuddhakammanta½ saccav±di½ nikkodha½ majjhatta½ tul±bh³ta½ lokassa. Apetap±pakanti apagatap±pakamma½. Na limpati kammakilesa t±disoti ta½ r±j±na½ p±º±tip±to adinn±d±na½ k±mesumicch±c±ro mus±v±doti aya½ kammakileso na all²yati. Ki½k±raº±? T±diso j±ta½ yath± pokkharaº²su ambuja½. T±diso hi r±j± yath± pokkharaº²su j±ta½ paduma½ anupalitta½, eva½ anupalitto n±ma hoti.
R±j± bodhisattassa ov±da½ sutv± tato paµµh±ya dhammena rajja½ k±rento d±n±d²ni puññ±ni katv± saggapar±yaºo ahosi.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± r±j± ±nando ahosi, paº¹it±macco pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
