Yametanti ida½ satth± jetavane viharanto aññatara½ bhikkhu½ ±rabbha kathesi. So kira jetavan± nikkhamitv± kosalaraµµhe aññatara½ arañña½ niss±ya viharanto ekadivasa½ padumasara½ otaritv± supupphitapaduma½ disv± adhov±te µhatv± upasiªghi. Atha na½ tasmi½ vane adhivatth± devat± “m±risa, tva½ gandhatheno n±ma, ida½ te eka½ theyyaªgan”ti sa½vejesi. So t±ya sa½vejito puna jetavana½ ±gantv± satth±ra½ vanditv± nisinno “kaha½ bhikkhu nivutthos²”ti puµµho “asukavanasaº¹e n±ma, tattha ca ma½ devat± eva½ n±ma sa½vejes²”ti ±ha. Atha na½ satth± “na kho bhikkhu puppha½ upasiªghanto tvameva devat±ya sa½vejito, por±ºakapaº¹it±pi sa½vejitapubb±”ti vatv± tena y±cito at²ta½ ±hari.
At²te b±r±ºasiya½ brahmadatte rajja½ k±rente bodhisatto ekasmi½ k±sikag±me br±hmaºakule nibbattitv± vayappatto takkasil±ya½ uggahitasippo aparabh±ge isipabbajja½ pabbajitv± eka½ padumasara½ niss±ya upavasanto ekadivasa½ sara½ otaritv± supupphitapaduma½ upasiªgham±no aµµh±si. Atha na½ ek± devadh²t± rukkhakkhandhavivare µhatv± sa½vejayam±n± paµhama½ g±tham±ha–
115. “Yameta½ v±rija½ puppha½, adinna½ upasiªghasi;
ekaªgameta½ theyy±na½, gandhathenosi m±ris±”ti.
Tattha ekaªgametanti ekakoµµh±so esa.
Tato bodhisatto dutiya½ g±tham±ha–
116. “Na har±mi na bhañj±mi, ±r± siªgh±mi v±rija½;
atha kena nu vaººena, gandhathenoti vuccat²”ti.
Tattha ±r± siªgh±m²ti d³re µhito gh±y±mi. Vaººen±ti k±raºena.
Tasmi½ khaºe eko puriso tasmi½ sare bhis±ni ceva khaºati, puº¹ar²k±ni ca bhañjati Bodhisatto ta½ disv± “ma½ ±r± µhatv± upasiªghanta½ ‘coro’ti vadasi, eta½ purisa½ kasm± na bhaºas²”ti t±ya saddhi½ sallapanto tatiya½ g±tham±ha–
117. “Yoya½ bhis±ni khaºati, puº¹ar²k±ni bhañjati;
eva½ ±kiººakammanto, kasm± eso na vuccat²”ti.
Tattha ±kiººakammantoti kakkha¼akammanto d±ruºakammanto.
Athassa avacanak±raºa½ ±cikkhant² devat± catutthapañcamag±th± abh±si–
118. “¾kiººaluddo puriso, dh±ticela½va makkhito;
tasmi½ me vacana½ natthi, tañc±rah±mi vattave.
119. “Anaªgaºassa posassa, nicca½ sucigavesino;
v±laggamatta½ p±passa, abbh±matta½va kh±yat²”ti.
Tattha dh±ticela½v±ti khe¼asiªgh±ºikamuttag³thamakkhita½ dh±tid±siy± nivatthacela½ viya aya½ p±pamakkhitoyeva, tena k±raºena tasmi½ mama vacana½ natthi. Tañc±rah±m²ti samaº± pana ov±dakkham± honti piyas²l±, tasm± ta½ appamattakampi ayutta½ karonta½ vattu½ arah±mi samaº±ti. Anaªgaºass±ti niddosassa tumh±disassa. Abbh±matta½va kh±yat²ti mah±meghappam±ºa½ hutv± upaµµh±ti, id±ni kasm± evar³pa½ dosa½ abboh±rika½ karos²ti.
T±ya pana sa½vejito bodhisatto sa½vegappatto chaµµha½ g±tham±ha–
120. “Addh± ma½ yakkha j±n±si, atho ma½ anukampasi;
punapi yakkha vajj±si, yad± passasi edisan”ti.
Tattha yakkh±ti devata½ ±lapati. Vajj±s²ti vadeyy±si. Yad± passasi edisanti yad± mama evar³pa½ dosa½ passasi, tad± eva½ mama vadeyy±s²ti vadati.
Athassa s± devadh²t± sattama½ g±tham±ha–
121. “Neva ta½ upaj²v±mi, napi te bhatak±mhase;
tvameva bhikkhu j±neyya, yena gaccheyya suggatin”ti.
Tattha bhatak±mhaseti tava bhatihat± kammakar±pi na homa. Ki½k±raº± ta½ sabbak±la½ rakkham±n± vicariss±m±ti d²peti. Yena gaccheyy±ti bhikkhu yena kammena tva½ sugati½ gaccheyy±si, tvameva ta½ j±neyy±s²ti.
Eva½ s± tassa ov±da½ datv± attano vim±nameva paviµµh±. Bodhisattopi jh±na½ nibbattetv± brahmalokapar±yaºo ahosi.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± sacc±ni pak±setv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi, saccapariyos±ne so bhikkhu sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi.
Tad± devadh²t± uppalavaºº± ahosi, t±paso pana ahameva ahosinti.
