Dubbaººar³panti ida½ satth± jetavane viharanto lokatthacariya½ ±rabbha kathesi. Vatthu mah±kaºhaj±take (j±. 1.12.61 ±dayo) ±vi bhavissati. Tad± pana satth± “na, bhikkhave, id±neva, pubbepi tath±gato lokatthacariya½ cariyev±”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.
At²te b±r±ºasiya½ brahmadatte rajja½ k±rente bodhisatto sakko ahosi. Tad± eko vijj±dharo vijja½ parivattetv± a¹¹harattasamaye ±gantv± b±r±ºasirañño aggamahesiy± saddhi½ aticarati, tass± paric±rik±yo sañj±ni½su. S± sayameva r±j±na½ upasaªkamitv± “deva, eko puriso a¹¹harattasamaye sirigabbha½ pavisitv± ma½ d³set²”ti ±ha. “Sakkhissasi pana kiñci saññ±ºa½ k±tun”ti? “Sakkomi, dev±”ti s± j±tihiªgulikap±ti½ ±har±petv± tassa purisassa ratti½ ±gantv± abhiramitv± gacchantassa piµµhiya½ pañcaªgulika½ datv± p±tova rañño ±rocesi. Tattha ariyavaºº²ti sundarar³po. Seyyo nu tesoti eso vir³po pabbajito ki½ nu tay± uttaritaro, ud±hu sarikkho. N±ma½ parassattano c±p²ti etassa parassa ca attano ca n±ma½ br³h²ti pucchati.
Atha na½ sakko “mah±r±ja, samaº± n±ma garuµµh±niy±, tena me n±ma½ lapitu½ na labbhati, mayha½ pana te n±ma½ kathess±m²”ti vatv± dutiya½ g±tham±ha–
109. “Na n±magotta½ gaºhanti r±ja, sammaggat±nujjugat±na dev±;
ahañca te n±madheyya½ vad±mi, sakkohamasm² tidas±namindo”ti.
Tattha sammaggat±nujjugat±na dev±ti mah±r±ja, sabbasaªkh±re yath± sabh±vasarasavasena sammasitv± aggaphala½ arahatta½ pattatt± sammaggat±na½, ujun± ca aµµhaªgikena maggena nibb±na½ gatatt± ujugat±na½ mah±kh²º±sav±na½ upapattidevehi uttaritar±na½ visuddhidev±na½ upapattidev± n±magotta½ na gaºhanti. Ahañca te n±madheyyanti apica aha½ attano n±madheyya½ tuyha½ kathemi.

111. “Yo disv± bhikkhu½ caraº³papanna½, purakkhatv± pañjaliko namassati;
diµµheva dhamme labhate pasa½sa½, saggañca so y±ti sar²rabhed±”ti.
Tattha bhikkhunti bhinnakilesa½ parisuddhapuggala½. Caraº³papannanti s²lacaraºena upeta½. Diµµheva dhammeti na kevala½ ito cutoyeva, imasmi½ pana attabh±ve so pasa½sa½ labhati, pasa½s±sukha½ vindat²ti.

112. “Lakkh² vata me udap±di ajja, ya½ v±sava½ bh³tapatiddas±ma;
bhikkhuñca disv±na tuvañca sakka, k±h±mi puññ±ni anappak±n²”ti.
Tattha lakkh²ti sir², paññ±tipi vadanti. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– ajja mama tava vacana½ suºantasseva kusal±kusalavip±kaj±nanapaññ± udap±d²ti. Yanti nip±tamatta½. Bh³tapatiddas±m±ti bh³tapati½ addas±ma.

113. “Addh± have sevitabb± sapaññ±, bahussut± ye bahuµh±nacintino;
bhikkhuñca disv±na mamañca r±ja, karohi puññ±ni anappak±n²”ti.

114. “Akkodhano niccapasannacitto, sabb±tith²y±cayogo bhavitv±;
nihacca m±na½ abhiv±dayissa½, sutv±na devinda subh±sit±n²”ti.
Tattha sabb±tith²y±cayogo bhavitv±ti sabbesa½ atith²na½ ±gat±na½ ±gantuk±na½ ya½ ya½ te y±canti, tassa tassa yutto anucchaviko bhavitv±, sabba½ tehi y±citay±cita½ dadam±noti attho. Sutv±na devinda subh±sit±n²ti tava subh±sit±ni sutv± aha½ evar³po bhaviss±m²ti vadati.
Evañca pana vatv± p±s±d± oruyha paccekabuddha½ vanditv± ekamanta½ aµµh±si. Paccekabuddho ±k±se pallaªkena nis²ditv± “mah±r±ja, vijj±dharo na samaºo, tva½ ito paµµh±ya ‘atuccho loko, atthi dhammikasamaºabr±hmaº±’ti ñatv± d±na½ dehi, s²la½ rakkha, uposathakamma½ karoh²”ti r±j±na½ ovadi. Sakkopi sakk±nubh±vena ±k±se µhatv± “ito paµµh±ya appamatt± hoth±”ti n±gar±na½ ov±da½ datv± “pal±t± samaºabr±hmaº± ±gacchant³”ti bheri½ car±pesi. Atha te ubhopi sakaµµh±nameva agama½su. R±j± tassa ov±de µhatv± d±n±d²ni puññ±ni ak±si.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± paccekabuddho parinibbuto, r±j± ±nando ahosi, sakko pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
