Sakuºo mayhako n±m±ti ida½ satth± jetavane viharanto ±gantukaseµµhi½ ±rabbha kathesi. S±vatthiyañhi ±gantukaseµµhi n±ma a¹¹ho ahosi mahaddhano. So neva attan± bhoge bhuñji, na paresa½ ad±si, n±naggarase paº²te bhojane upan²te ta½ na bhuñjati, bilaªgadutiya½ kaº±jaka½ eva bhuñjati, dh³pitav±sitesu k±sikavatthesu upan²tesu t±ni h±retv± th³lath³las±µake niv±seti, ±j±n²yayutte maºikanakavicitte rathe upan²te tampi har±petv± kattararathakena gacchati, suvaººacchatte dh±riyam±ne ta½ apanetv± paººacchattena dh±riyam±nena. So y±vaj²va½ d±n±d²su puññesu ekampi akatv± k±la½ katv± roruvaniraye nibbatti. Tassa aputtaka½ s±pateyya½ r±jabala½ sattahi rattidivasehi r±jakula½ pavesesi. Satth± “mah±r±ja, dhanal±bho ca, dhana½ laddh± aparibhuñjanak±raºañca teneva katan”ti vatv± tena y±cito at²ta½ ±hari.
At²te b±r±ºasiya½ brahmadatte rajja½ k±rente b±r±ºasiseµµhi assaddho ahosi macchar², na kassaci kiñci deti, na kañci saªgaºh±ti. So ekadivasa½ r±jupaµµh±na½ gacchanto tagarasikhi½ n±ma paccekabuddha½ piº¹±ya caranta½ disv± vanditv± “laddh±, bhante, bhikkh±”ti pucchitv± “nanu car±ma mah±seµµh²”ti vutte purisa½ ±º±pesi “gaccha, ima½ amh±ka½ ghara½ ±netv± mama pallaªke nis²d±petv± amh±ka½ paµiyattabhattassa patta½ p³retv± d±peh²”ti. So paccekabuddha½ ghara½ netv± nis²d±petv± seµµhibhariy±ya ±cikkhi. S± n±naggarasabhattassa patta½ p³retv± tassa ad±si. So bhatta½ gahetv± seµµhinivesan± nikkhamitv± antarav²thiya½ paµipajji. Seµµhi r±jakulato pacc±gacchanto ta½ disv± vanditv± “laddha½, bhante, bhattan”ti pucchi. “Laddha½ mah±seµµh²”ti. So patta½ oloketv± citta½ pas±detu½ n±sakkhi “ima½ me bhatta½ d±s± v± kammakar± v± bhuñjitv± dukkarampi kamma½ kareyyu½, aho vata me j±n²”ti aparacetana½ paripuººa½ k±tu½ n±sakkhi. D±nañhi n±ma tisso cetan± paripuººa½ k±tu½ sakkontasseva mahapphala½ hoti.
“Pubbeva d±n± suman± bhav±ma, dadampi ve attaman± bhav±ma;
datv±pi ve n±nutapp±ma pacch±, tasm± hi amha½ dahar± namiyyare. (J±. 1.10.95).
“Pubbeva d±n± sumano, dada½ citta½ pas±daye;
datv± attamano hoti, es± yaññassa sampad±”. (A. ni. 6.37; pe va. 305).
Iti, mah±r±ja, ±gantukaseµµhi tagarasikhipaccekabuddhassa dinnapaccayena bahu½ dhana½ labhi, datv± aparacetana½ paº²ta½ k±tu½ asamatthat±ya bhoge bhuñjitu½ n±sakkh²ti. “Putta½ pana kasm± na labhi, bhante”ti? Satth± “puttassa alabhanak±raºampi teneva kata½, mah±r±j±”ti vatv± tena y±cito at²ta½ ±hari.
At²te b±r±ºasiya½ brahmadatte rajja½ k±rente bodhisatto as²tikoµivibhave seµµhikule nibbattitv± vayappatto m±t±pit³na½ accayena kaniµµha½ saªgaºhitv± kuµumba½ vic±rento gharadv±re d±nas±la½ k±retv± mah±d±na½ pavattento ag±ra½ ajjh±vasi. Atha na½ ekadivasa½ nadiya½ opil±petv± m±resi. Tamena½ nhatv± ±gata½ bh±tu j±y± “kuhi½ mama putto”ti pucchi. “Nadiya½ udaka½ k²¼i, atha na½ udake vicinanto n±ddasan”ti. S± roditv± kanditv± tuºh² ahosi.
Bodhisatto ta½ pavatti½ ñatv± “ida½ kicca½ p±kaµa½ kariss±m²”ti ±k±sen±gantv± b±r±ºasiya½ otaritv± sunivattho sup±ruto tassa gharadv±re µhatv± d±nas±la½ adisv± “d±nas±l±pi imin± asappurisena n±sit±”ti cintesi. Kaniµµho tassa ±gatabh±va½ ñatv± ±gantv± mah±satta½ vanditv± p±s±da½ ±ropetv± subhojana½ bhojesi. So bhattakicc±vas±ne sukhakath±ya nisinno “d±rako na paññ±yati, kaha½ nu kho”ti pucchi. “Mato, bhante”ti. “Kena k±raºen±”ti? “Udakak²¼anaµµh±ne asukak±raºen±ti na j±n±m²”ti. “Ki½ tva½ asappurisa na j±nissasi, tay± katakicca½ mayha½ p±kaµa½, nanu tva½ imin± n±ma k±raºena ta½ m±resi, ki½ nu tva½ r±j±d²na½ vasena nassam±na½ dhana½ rakkhitu½ sakkuºeyy±si, mayhakasakuºassa ca tuyhañca ki½ n±n±karaºan”ti? bhutv±na pipphali½ yanti, vilapatveva so dijo.
104. “Evameva idhekacco, saªgharitv± bahu½ dhana½;
nevattano na ñ±t²na½, yathodhi½ paµipajjati.
105. “Na so acch±dana½ bhatta½, na m±la½ na vilepana½;
anubhoti saki½ kiñci, na saªgaºh±ti ñ±take.
106. “Tasseva½ vilapantassa, mayha½ mayhanti rakkhato;
r±j±no atha v± cor±, d±y±d± yeva appiy±;
dhanam±d±ya gacchanti, vilapatveva so naro.
107. “Dh²ro bhoge adhigamma, saªgaºh±ti ca ñ±take;
tena so kitti½ pappoti, pecca sagge pamodat²”ti.
Tattha mayhakoti “mayha½ mayhan”ti viravanavasena eva½laddhan±mo. Giris±nudar²su carat²ti giris±nudar²caro. Pakka½ pipphalinti himavantapadese eka½ phalabharita½ pipphalirukkha½. Kandat²ti dijagaºe ta½ rukkha½ pariv±retv± pakk±ni kh±dante v±retu½ “mayha½ mayhan”ti paridevanto vicarati. Tasseva½ vilapantass±ti tassa vilapantasseva. Bhutv±na vipphali½ yant²ti ta½ pipphalirukkha½ paribhuñjitv± añña½ phalasampanna½ rukkha½ gacchanti. Vilapatvev±ti so pana dijo vilapatiyeva. Yathodhinti yath±koµµh±sa½, m±t±pit±bh±tubhagin²puttadh²t±d²na½ upabhogaparibhogavasena yo yo koµµh±so d±tabbo, ta½ ta½ na det²ti attho.
Sakinti ekav±rampi n±nubhoti. “Sakan”tipi p±µho, attano santakamp²ti attho. Na saªgaºh±t²ti bhattacch±danab²janaªgal±did±navasena na saªgaºh±ti. Vilapatveva so naroti etesu r±j±d²su dhana½ gahetv± gacchantesu kevala½ so puriso vilapatiyeva. Dh²roti paº¹ito. Saªgaºh±t²ti attano santika½ ±gate dubbalañ±take bhattacch±danab²janaªgal±did±nena saªgaºh±ti. Ten±ti so puriso tena ñ±tisaªgahena catuparisamajjhe kittiñca attano vaººabhaºanañca p±puº±ti, pecca sagge devanagare pamodati.
Eva½ mah±satto tassa dhamma½ desetv± d±na½ p±katika½ k±retv± himavantameva gantv± aparih²najjh±no brahmalok³pago ahosi.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± “iti kho, mah±r±ja, ±gantukaseµµhi bh±tu puttassa m±ritatt± ettaka½ k±la½ neva putta½, na dh²tara½ alabh²”ti vatv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± kaniµµho ±gantukaseµµhi ahosi, jeµµhako pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
