Akakkasa½ apharusanti ida½ satth± jetavane viharanto paññ±p±rami½ ±rabbha kathesi. Vatthu mah±-umaªgaj±take (j±. 2.22.590 ±dayo) ±vi bhavissati. Tad± pana satth± bhikkh³ ±mantetv± “na, bhikkhave, id±neva, pubbepi tath±gato paññav± up±yakusaloyev±”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.
At²te b±r±ºasiya½ brahmadatte rajja½ k±rente bodhisatto k±siraµµhe kamm±rakule nibbattitv± vayappatto pariyod±tasippo ahosi. M±t±pitaro panassa dalidd±, tesa½ g±mato avid³re añño sahassakuµiko kamm±rag±mo. Tattha kamm±rasahassajeµµhako kamm±ro r±javallabho a¹¹ho mahaddhano, tassek± dh²t± ahosi uttamar³padhar± devacchar±paµibh±g± janapadakaly±ºilakkhaºehi samann±gat±. S±mantag±mesu manuss± v±sipharasuph±lap±can±dik±r±panatth±ya ta½ g±ma½ gantv± yebhuyyena ta½ kum±rika½ passanti, te attano attano g±ma½ gantv± nisinnaµµh±n±d²su tass± r³pa½ vaººenti. Bodhisatto ta½ sutv± savanasa½saggena bajjhitv± “p±daparic±rika½ na½ kariss±m²”ti uttamaj±tika½ aya½ gahetv± eka½ sukhuma½ ghana½ s³ci½ katv± p±se vijjhitv± udake uppil±petv± aparampi tath±r³pameva tass± kosaka½ katv± p±se vijjhi. Imin± niy±mena tass± satta kosake ak±si, “katha½ ak±s²”ti na vattabba½. Bodhisatt±nañhi ñ±ºamahantat±ya karaºa½ samijjhatiyeva. So ta½ s³ci½ n±¼ik±ya pakkhipitv± ovaµµik±ya katv± ta½ g±ma½ gantv± kamm±rajeµµhakassa vasanav²thi½ pucchitv± tattha gantv± dv±re µhatv± “ko mama hatthato evar³pa½ n±ma s³ci½ m³lena kiºitu½ icchat²”ti s³ci½ vaººento jeµµhakakamm±rassa gharadv±rasam²pe µhatv± paµhama½ g±tham±ha–

Tattha sumajjañc±ti kuruvindakacuººena suµµhu majjita½. Sup±sañc±ti saºhena p±savedhakena viddhatt± sundarap±sa½. Ghanagh±timanti y± gh±tiyam±n± adhikaraºi½ anupavisati, aya½ “ghanagh±tim±”ti vuccati, t±disinti attho. Paµithaddhanti thaddha½ amuduka½.
Tasmi½ khaºe s± kum±rik± bhuttap±tar±sa½ pitara½ darathapaµippassambhanattha½ c³¼asayane nipanna½ t±lavaºµena b²jayam±n± bodhisattassa madhurasadda½ sutv± allama½sapiº¹ena hadaye pahaµ± viya ghaµasahassena nibb±pitadarath± viya hutv± “ko nu kho esa atimadhurena saddena kamm±r±na½ vasanag±me s³ci½ vikkiº±ti, kena nu kho kammena ±gato, j±niss±mi nan”ti t±lavaºµa½ µhapetv± geh± nikkhamma bahi-±¼indake µhatv± tena saddhi½ kathesi. Bodhisatt±nañhi patthita½ n±ma samijjhati, so hi tass±yevatth±ya ta½ g±ma½ ±gato. S± ca tena saddhi½ kathent² “m±ºava, sakalaraµµhav±sino s³ci-±d²na½ atth±ya ima½ g±ma½ ±gacchanti, tva½ b±lat±ya kamm±rag±me s³ci½ vikkiºitu½ icchasi, sacepi divasa½ s³ciy± vaººa½ bh±sissasi, na te koci hatthato s³ci½ gaºhissati, sace tva½ m³la½ laddhu½ icchasi, añña½ g±ma½ y±h²”ti vatv± dve g±th± abh±si–
84. “Itod±ni pat±yanti, s³ciyo ba¼is±ni ca;
koya½ kamm±rag±masmi½, s³ci½ vikketumicchati.
85. “Ito satth±ni gacchanti, kammant± vividh± puth³;
koya½ kamm±rag±masmi½, s³ci½ vikketumicchat²”ti.
Tattha itod±n²ti imasmi½ raµµhe id±ni s³ciyo ca ba¼is±ni ca aññ±ni ca upakaraº±ni imamh± kamm±rag±m± pat±yanti nikkhamanti, ta½ ta½ disa½ pattharant± niggacchanti. Koyanti eva½ sante ko aya½ imasmi½ kamm±rag±me s³ci½ vikkiºitu½ icchati. Satth±n²ti b±r±ºasi½ gacchant±ni n±nappak±r±ni satth±ni itova gacchanti. Vividh± puth³ti n±nappak±r± bah³ kammant±pi sakalaraµµhav±s²na½ ito gahita-upakaraºeheva pavattanti.

87. “Imañce te pit± bhadde, s³ci½ jaññ± may± kata½;
tay± ca ma½ nimanteyya, yañcatthañña½ ghare dhanan”ti.
Tattha s³cinti vibhattivipall±so kato. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– s³ci n±ma paj±nat± paº¹itena purisena kamm±rag±masmi½yeva vikketabb±. Ki½k±raº±? ¾cariy±va j±nanti, kamma½ sukatadukkaµanti, tassa tassa sippassa ±cariy±va tasmi½ tasmi½ sippe sukatadukkaµakamma½ j±nanti, sv±ha½ kamm±rakamma½ aj±nant±na½ gahapatik±na½ g±ma½ gantv± mama s³ciy± sukatadukkaµabh±va½ katha½ j±n±pess±mi, imasmi½ pana g±me mama bala½ j±n±pess±m²ti. Eva½ bodhisatto im±ya g±th±ya attano bala½ vaººesi.
Tay± ca ma½ nimanteyy±ti bhadde sace tava pit± ima½ may± kata½ s³ci½ “²dis± v± es±, eva½ v± kat±”ti j±neyya, “ima½ me dh²tara½ tava p±daparic±rika½ dammi, gaºh±hi nan”ti eva½ tay± ca ma½ nimanteyya. Yañcatthañña½ ghare dhananti yañca añña½ saviññ±ºaka½ v± aviññ±ºaka½ v± ghare dhana½ atthi, tena ma½ nimanteyya. “Yañcassaññan”tipi p±µho, yañca assa ghare añña½ dhana½ atth²ti attho.
Kamm±rajeµµhako sabba½ tesa½ katha½ sutv± “amm±”ti dh²tara½ pakkositv± “kena saddhi½ sallapas²”ti pucchi. T±ta, eko puriso s³ci½ vikkiº±ti, tena saddhi½ sallapem²ti. “Tena hi pakkos±hi nan”ti. S± gantv± pakkosi. Bodhisatto geha½ pavisitv± kamm±rajeµµhaka½ vanditv± ekamanta½ aµµh±si. Atha na½ so “katarag±mav±sikos²”ti pucchi. “Aha½ asukag±mav±sikomhi asukakamm±rassa putto”ti. “Kasm± idh±gatos²”ti. “S³civikkayatth±y±”ti “¾hara, s³ci½ te pass±m±”ti Bodhisatto attano guºa½ sabbesa½ majjhe pak±setuk±mo “nanu ekak±na½ olokitato sabbesa½ majjhe oloketu½ varataran”ti ±ha. So “s±dhu, t±t±”ti sabbe kamm±re sannip±t±petv± tehi parivuto “±hara, t±ta, maya½ pass±ma te s³cin”ti ±ha. “¾cariya, eka½ adhikaraºiñca udakap³rañca ka½sath±la½ ±har±peth±”ti. So ±har±pesi. Bodhisatto ovaµµikato s³cin±¼ika½ n²haritv± ad±si. Kamm±rajeµµhako tato s³ci½ n²haritv± “t±ta, aya½ s³c²”ti pucchi. “N±ya½ s³ci, kosako eso”ti. So upadh±rento neva anta½, na koµi½ addasa. Bodhisatto ±har±petv± nakhena kosaka½ apanetv± “aya½ s³ci, aya½ kosako”ti mah±janassa dassetv± s³ci½ ±cariyassa hatthe, kosaka½ p±dam³le µhapesi. Puna tena “aya½ maññe s³c²”ti vutto “ayampi s³cikosakoyev±”ti vatv± nakhena paharanto paµip±µiy± cha s³cikosake kamm±rajeµµhakassa p±dam³le µhapetv± “aya½ s³c²”ti tassa hatthe µhapesi. Kamm±rasahass±ni aªguliyo phoµesu½, celukkhep± pavatti½su.
Atha na½ kamm±rajeµµhako “t±ta, im±ya s³ciy± ki½ balan”ti pucchi. “¾cariya balavat± purisena adhikaraºi½ ukkhip±petv± adhikaraºiy± heµµh± udakap±ti½ µhap±petv± adhikaraºiy± majjhe ima½ s³ci½ paharath±”ti. So tath± k±retv± adhikaraºiy± majjhe s³ci½ aggena pahari. S± adhikaraºi½ vinivijjhitv± udakapiµµhe kesaggamattampi uddha½ v± adho v± ahutv± tiriya½ patiµµh±si. Sabbe kamm±r± “amhehi ettaka½ k±la½ ‘kamm±r± n±ma edis± hont²’ti sutivasenapi na sutapubban”ti aªguliyo phoµetv± celukkhepasahassa½ pavattayi½su Kamm±rajeµµhako dh²tara½ pakkositv± tasmiññeva parisamajjhe “aya½ kum±rik± tuyhameva anucchavik±”ti udaka½ p±tetv± ad±si. So aparabh±ge kamm±rajeµµhakassa accayena tasmi½ g±me kamm±rajeµµhako ahosi.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± kamm±rajeµµhakassa dh²t± r±hulam±t± ahosi, paº¹itakamm±raputto pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
