Tañhi satth± “sacca½ kira tva½ bhikkhu gih² poses²”ti pucchitv± “sacca½, bhante”ti vutte “ki½ te hont²”ti vutte “m±t±pitaro me, bhante”ti vutte “s±dhu s±dhu bhikkhu por±ºakapaº¹it±na½ va½sa½ p±lesi, por±ºakapaº¹it± hi tiracch±nayoniya½ nibbattitv±pi m±t±pit³na½ j²vita½ ada½s³”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.

So manussehi gumbapariyante µhatv± unn±detv± gumbe pahaµamatteyeva tato nikkhami. Te “ekovettha migo bhavissat²”ti gumba½ na pavisi½su. Atha nandiyo gantv± mig±na½ antara½ p±visi. Manuss± pariv±retv± sabbe mige uyy±na½ pavesetv± dv±ra½ thaketv± rañño ±rocetv± sakasakaµµh±n±ni agama½su.
Tato paµµh±ya r±j± sayameva gantv± eka½ miga½ vijjhitv± ta½ gahetv± eh²ti eka½ pesetv± ±har±pesi. Mig± v±ra½ µhapayi½su, pattav±ro migo ekamante tiµµhati, ta½ vijjhitv± gaºhanti. Tassattho– sace, tva½ br±hmaºa, s±keta½ gacchasi, s±kete ajjunavana½ n±ma uyy±na½ atthi, tattha amh±ka½ putto nandiyo n±ma migo atthi, ta½ vadeyy±si “m±t±pitaro te vu¹¹h± y±va na maranti, t±va ta½ passitu½ icchant²”ti.
So “s±dh³”ti sampaµicchitv± s±keta½ gantv± punadivase uyy±na½ pavisitv± “nandiyamigo n±ma kataro”ti pucchi. Migo ±gantv± tassa sam²pe µhatv± “ahan”ti ±ha. Br±hmaºo tamattha½ ±rocesi. ta½ r±japiº¹a½ avabhottu½, n±ha½ br±hmaºa mussahe.
73. “Odahiss±maha½ passa½, khurapp±nissa r±jino;
tad±ha½ sukhito mutto, api passeyya m±taran”ti.
Tattha niv±p±n²ti tesu tesu µh±nesu nivut±ni niv±p±ni. P±nabhojananti p±n²yañca avasesatiºañca. Ta½ r±japiº¹anti ta½ rañño santaka½ saªka¹¹hitv± samodh±nakaµµhena piº¹a½. Avabhottunti dubbhutta½ bhuñjitu½ Rañño hi kicca½ anipph±dento ta½ avabhutta½ bhuñjati n±ma, sv±ha½ eva½ avabhottu½ na ussah±m²ti vadati. Br±hmaºa mussaheti cettha br±hmaº±ti ±lapana½, ma-k±ro padasandhivasena vutto.
Odahiss±maha½ passa½, khurapp±nissa r±jinoti aha½, br±hmaºa, attano v±re sampatte khurappa½ sannayhitv± ±gatassa rañño migay³thato nikkhamitv± ekamante µhatv± “ma½ vijjha, mah±r±j±”ti vatv± attano mah±ph±sukapassa½ odahiss±mi o¹¹ess±mi. Sukhito muttoti tad± aha½ maraºabhay± mutto sukhito niddukkho raññ± anuññ±to api n±ma m±tara½ passeyyanti.

Mah±satto yath± aññe maraºabhayatajjit± pal±yanti, eva½ apal±yitv± nibbhayo hutv± metta½ purec±rika½ katv± mah±ph±sukapassa½ odahitv± niccalova aµµh±si. R±j± tassa mett±nubh±vena sara½ vissajjetu½ n±sakkhi. Mah±satto “ki½, mah±r±ja, sara½ na muccesi, muñc±h²”ti ±ha. “Na sakkomi, migar±j±”ti. “Tena hi guºavant±na½ guºa½ j±na, mah±r±j±”ti. Tad± r±j± bodhisatte pas²ditv± dhanu½ cha¹¹etv± “ima½ acittaka½ kaliªgarakaº¹ampi t±va tava guºa½ j±n±ti, aha½ sacittako manussabh³topi tava guºa½ na j±n±mi, migar±ja, mayha½ khama, abhaya½ te damm²”ti ±ha. “Mah±r±ja, mayha½ t±va abhaya½ desi, aya½ pana uyy±ne migagaºo ki½ karissat²”ti? “Etassapi abhaya½ damm²”ti. Eva½ mah±satto nigrodhaj±take (j±. 1.1.12) vuttanayeneva sabbesa½ araññe mig±na½ ±k±sagatasakuº±na½ jalacaramacch±nañca abhaya½ d±petv± r±j±na½ pañcasu s²lesu patiµµh±petv± “mah±r±ja, raññ± n±ma agatigamana½ pah±ya dasa r±jadhamme akopentena dhammena samena rajja½ k±retu½ vaµµat²”ti.

M±tara½ daµµhum±gatoti desan±s²sameta½, rañño dhamma½ desetv± sabbasatt±na½ abhayatth±ya suvaººabheri½ car±petv± m±t±pitaro daµµhu½ ±gatosm²ti attho.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± sacc±ni pak±setv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi, saccapariyos±ne m±tuposakabhikkhu sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi. Tad± m±t±pitaro mah±r±jakul±ni ahesu½, br±hmaºo s±riputto, r±j± ±nando, nandiyamigar±j± pana ahameva ahosinti.
