Aya½ panettha saªkhepo– satth± chabbaggiye pakkos±petv± “sacca½ kira tumhe, bhikkhave, n²ce ±sane nis²ditv± ucce ±sane nisinnassa dhamma½ deseth±”ti pucchitv± “eva½, bhante”ti vutte te bhikkh³ garahitv± “ayutta½, bhikkhave, tumh±ka½ mama dhamme ag±ravakaraºa½, por±ºakapaº¹it± hi n²ce ±sane nis²ditv± b±hirakamantepi v±cente garahi½s³”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.
At²te b±r±ºasiya½ brahmadatte rajja½ k±rente bodhisatto caº¹±lakule nibbattitv± vayappatto kuµumba½ saºµhapesi. Tassa bhariy± ambadoha¼in² hutv± ta½ ±ha “s±mi, icch±maha½ amba½ kh±ditun”ti. “Bhadde, imasmi½ k±le amba½ natthi, añña½ kiñci ambilaphala½ ±hariss±m²”ti. “S±mi, ambaphala½ labham±n±va j²viss±mi, alabham±n±ya me j²vita½ natth²”ti. So tass± paµibaddhacitto “kaha½ nu kho ambaphala½ labhiss±m²”ti cintesi. Tena kho pana samayena b±r±ºasirañño uyy±ne ambo dhuvaphalo hoti. So “tato ambapakka½ ±haritv± imiss± doha¼a½ paµippassambhess±m²”ti rattibh±ge uyy±na½ gantv± amba½ abhiruhitv± nil²no s±kh±ya s±kha½ amba½ olokento vicari. Tassa tath± karontasseva ratti vibh±yi. So cintesi “sace id±ni otaritv± gamiss±mi, disv± ma½ ‘coro’ti gaºhissanti, rattibh±ge gamiss±m²”ti. Atheka½ viµapa½ abhiruhitv± nil²no acchi.
Tad± b±r±ºasir±j± “purohitassa santike mante uggaºhiss±m²”ti uyy±na½ pavisitv± ambarukkham³le ucce ±sane nis²ditv± ±cariya½ n²ce ±sane nis²d±petv± mante uggaºhi. Bodhisatto upari nil²no cintesi– “y±va adhammiko aya½ r±j±, yo ucc±sane nis²ditv± mante uggaºh±ti. Aya½ br±hmaºopi adhammiko, yo n²c±sane nis²ditv± mante v±ceti. Ahampi adhammiko, yo m±tug±massa vasa½ gantv± mama j²vita½ agaºetv± amba½ ±har±m²”ti. So rukkhato otaranto eka½ olambanas±kha½ gahetv± tesa½ ubhinnampi antare patiµµh±ya “mah±r±ja, aha½ naµµho, tva½ m³¼ho, purohito mato”ti ±ha. So raññ± “ki½k±raº±”ti puµµho paµhama½ g±tham±ha–
33. “Sabbamida½ carima½ kata½, ubho dhamma½ na passare;
ubho pakatiy± cut±, yo c±ya½ mantejjh±peti;
yo ca manta½ adh²yat²”ti.
Tattha sabbamida½ carima½ katanti ya½ amhehi t²hi janehi kata½, sabba½ ida½ kicca½ l±maka½ nimmariy±da½ adhammika½. Eva½ attano corabh±va½ tesañca mantesu ag±rava½ garahitv± puna itare dveyeva garahanto “ubho dhamma½ na passare”ti-±dim±ha. Tattha ubhoti ime dvepi jan± garuk±r±raha½ por±ºakadhamma½ na passanti, tato dhammapakatito cut±. Dhammo hi paµhamuppattivasena pakati n±ma. Vuttampi ceta½–
“Dhammo have p±turahosi pubbe;
pacch± adhammo udap±di loke”ti. (J±. 1.11.28).
Yo c±yanti yo ca aya½ n²c±sane nis²ditv± mante ajjh±peti, yo ca ucce ±sane nis²ditv± adh²yat²ti.
Ta½ sutv± br±hmaºo dutiya½ g±tham±ha–
34. “S±l²na½ odana½ bhuñje, suci½ ma½s³pasecana½;
tasm± eta½ na sev±mi, dhamma½ is²hi sevitan”ti.
Tassattho– ahañhi bho imassa rañño santaka½ s±l²na½ odana½ suci½ paº¹ara½ n±nappak±r±ya ma½savikatiy± sitta½ ma½s³pasecana½ bhuñj±mi, tasm± udare baddho hutv± eta½ esitaguºehi is²hi sevita½ dhamma½ na sev±m²ti.
Ta½ sutv± itaro dve g±th± abh±si–
35. “Paribbaja mah± loko, pacantaññepi p±ºino;
m± ta½ adhammo ±carito, asm± kumbhamiv±bhid±.
36. “Dhiratthu ta½ yasal±bha½, dhanal±bhañca br±hmaºa;
y± vutti vinip±tena, adhammacaraºena v±”ti.
Tattha paribbaj±ti ito aññattha gaccha. Mah±ti aya½ loko n±ma mah±. Pacantaññepi p±ºinoti imasmi½ jambud²pe aññepi p±ºino pacanti, n±yameveko r±j±. Asm± kumbhamiv±bhid±ti p±s±ºo ghaµa½ viya. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– ya½ tva½ aññattha agantv± idha vasanto adhamma½ ±carasi, so adhammo eva½ ±carito p±s±ºo ghaµa½ viya m± ta½ bhindi.
“Dhiratth³”ti g±th±ya aya½ saªkhepattho– br±hmaºa yo esa eva½ tava yasal±bho ca dhanal±bho ca dhiratthu, ta½ garah±ma maya½. Kasm±? Yasm± aya½ tay± laddhal±bho ±yati½ ap±yesu vinip±tanahetun± sampati ca adhammacaraºena j²vitavutti n±ma hoti, y± ces± vutti imin± ±yati½ vinip±tena idha adhammacaraºena v± nippajjati, ki½ t±ya, tena ta½ eva½ vad±m²ti.
Athassa dhammakath±ya r±j± pas²ditv± “bho, purisa, ki½j±tikos²”ti pucchi. “Caº¹±lo aha½, dev±”ti. Bho “sace tva½ j±tisampanno abhavisssa, rajja½ te aha½ adassa½, ito paµµh±ya pana aha½ div± r±j± bhaviss±mi, tva½ ratti½ r±j± hoh²”ti attano kaºµhe pi¼andhana½ pupphad±ma½ tassa g²v±ya½ pi¼andh±petv± ta½ nagaraguttika½ ak±si. Aya½ nagaraguttik±na½ kaºµhe rattapupphad±mapi¼andhanava½so. Tato paµµh±ya pana r±j± tassov±de µhatv± ±cariye g±rava½ karitv± n²ce ±sane nisinno mante uggaºh²ti.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi “tad± r±j± ±nando ahosi, caº¹±laputto pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
