Bahumpi te adiµµhanti tay± cakkhun± adiµµha½ sotena ca assutameva bahutara½. Disat±ti dis±. M±t±pitaro putt±na½ purimatara½ uppannatt± puratthimadis± n±ma j±t±ti vadati. ¾cariyam±hu disata½ pasatth±ti ±cariy± pana dakkhiºeyyatt± disata½ pasatth± dakkhiº± dis±ti buddh±dayo ariy± ±hu kathenti d²penti.
Ag±rinoti gahaµµh±. Annadap±navatthad±ti annad±, p±nad±, vatthad± ca. Avh±yik±ti “etha deyyadhamma½ paµiggaºhath±”ti pakkosanak±. Tampi disa½ vadant²ti tampi buddh±dayo ariy± eka½ disa½ vadanti. “Samatittika½ anavasesaka½, telapatta½ yath± parihareyya;

Setaketu uyy±na½ gantv± t±pase sannip±tetv± “m±ris±, ajja r±j± ±gamissati, r±j±no ca n±ma saki½ ±r±dhetv± y±vat±yuka½ sukha½ j²vitu½ sakk±, ajja ekacce vaggulivata½ caratha, ekacce kaºµakaseyya½ kappetha, ekacce pañc±tapa½ tappetha, ekacce ukkuµikappadh±namanuyuñjatha, ekacce udakorohaºakamma½ karotha, ekacce mante sajjh±yath±”ti vic±retv± saya½ pakkas±ladv±re apassayap²µhake nis²ditv± pañcavaººaraªgasamujjalav±sana½ eka½ potthaka½ vicitravaººe ±dh±rake µhapetv± susikkhitehi cat³hi pañcahi m±ºavehi pucchite pucchite pañhe kathesi. Mah±r±ja, “aha½ bahussutomh²”ti sahassavedopi ce tividha½ sucaritadhamma½ na careyya, p±p±neva kareyya, so t±ni p±p±ni kamm±ni katv± ta½ b±husacca½ paµicca s²lasam±pattisaªkh±ta½ caraºa½ appatv± dukkh± na pamuñce, ap±yadukkhato na muccatev±ti.
Ta½ sutv± r±j± t±pasesu pas±da½ hari. Tato setaketu cintesi “imassa rañño t±pasesu pas±do udap±di, ta½ panesa purohito v±siy± paharitv± viya chindi, may± etena saddhi½ kathetu½ vaµµat²”ti. So tena saddhi½ kathento pañcama½ g±tham±ha–
12. “Sahassavedopi na ta½ paµicca, dukkh± pamuñce caraºa½ apatv±;
maññ±mi ved± aphal± bhavanti, sasa½yama½ caraºameva saccan”ti.
Tassattho sace sahassavedopi ta½ b±husacca½ paµicca caraºa½ appatv± att±na½ dukkh± na pamuñce, eva½ sante aha½ maññ±mi “tayo ved± aphal± honti, sas²la½ sam±patticaraºameva sacca½ hot²”ti.

13. “Na heva ved± aphal± bhavanti, sasa½yama½ caraºameva sacca½;
kittiñhi pappoti adhicca vede, santi½ puºeti caraºena danto”ti.
Tassattho– tayo ved± aphal± na bhavanti, sasa½yama½ caraºameva sacca½ seyya½ uttama½ pavara½ na heva hoti. Ki½k±raº±? Kittiñhi pappoti adhicca vedeti tayo vede adhicca diµµhadhamme kittimatta½ yasamatta½ l±bhamatta½ labhati, ito para½ añña½ natthi, tasm± na te aphal±. Santi½ puºeti caraºena dantoti s²le patiµµh±ya sam±pattiyo nibbattetv± sam±pattipadaµµh±na½ vipassana½ va¹¹hento accanta½ santa½ nibb±na½ n±ma ta½ eti p±puº±ti.
