Idh±pi tatheva satth± tassa nivesana½ gantv± ta½ ±gantv± vanditv± nisinna½ “ki½, ±vuso, socas²”ti pucchitv± “±ma, bhante puttassa me matak±lato paµµh±ya soc±m²”ti vutte “±vuso, bhijjanadhamma½ n±ma bhijjati, nassanadhamma½ n±ma nassati, tañca kho na ekasmi½yeva kule, n±pi ekasmiññeva g±me, atha kho aparim±ºesu cakkav±¼esu t²su bhavesu amaraºadhammo n±ma natthi, tabbh±veneva µh±tu½ samattho ekasaªkh±ropi sassato n±ma natthi, sabbe satt± maraºadhamm±, sabbe saªkh±r± bhijjanadhamm±, por±ºakapaº¹it±pi putte mate ‘maraºadhamma½ mata½, nassanadhamma½ naµµhan’ti na soci½s³”ti vatv± tena y±cito at²ta½ ±hari.

Bodhisatto ses±na½ pañcanna½ eva½ ov±da½ deti “tumhe yath±laddhaniy±meneva d±na½ detha, s²la½ rakkhatha, uposathakamma½ karotha, maraºassati½ bh±vetha, tumh±ka½ maraºabh±va½ sallakkhetha, imesañhi satt±na½ maraºa½ dhuva½, j²vita½ addhuva½, sabbe saªkh±r± anicc± khayavayadhamminova, rattiñca div± ca appamatt± hoth±”ti. Te “s±dh³”ti ov±da½ sampaµicchitv± appamatt± maraºassati½ bh±venti.
Athekadivasa½ bodhisatto puttena saddhi½ khetta½ gantv± kasati. Putto kacavara½ saªka¹¹hitv± jh±peti. Tass±vid³re ekasmi½ vammike ±s²viso atthi. Dh³mo tassa akkh²ni pahari. So kuddho nikkhamitv± “ima½ niss±ya mayha½ bhayan”ti catasso d±µh± nimujj±pento ta½ ¹a½si, so parivattitv± patito. Bodhisatto parivattitv± ta½ patita½ disv± goºe µhapetv± gantv± tassa matabh±va½ ñatv± ta½ ukkhipitv± ekasmi½ rukkham³le nipajj±petv± p±rupitv± neva rodi na paridevi– “bhijjanadhamma½ pana bhinna½, maraºadhamma½ mata½, sabbe saªkh±r± anicc± maraºanipphattik±”ti aniccabh±vameva sallakkhetv± kasi. So khettasam²pena gacchanta½ eka½ paµivissaka½ purisa½ disv± “t±ta, geha½ gacchas²”ti pucchitv± “±m±”ti vutte tena hi amh±kampi ghara½ gantv± br±hmaºi½ vadeyy±si “ajja kira pubbe viya dvinna½ bhatta½ an±haritv± ekassev±h±ra½ ±hareyy±tha, pubbe ca ekik±va d±s² ±h±ra½ ±harati, ajja pana catt±ropi jan± suddhavatthanivatth± gandhapupphahatth± ±gaccheyy±th±”ti. Eva½ subh±vitacitt± suddhavatthanivatth± gandhapupphahatth± d±si½ pana ±h±ra½ ±har±petv± sesehi saddhi½ khetta½ agam±si. Ekassapi rodita½ v± paridevita½ v± n±hosi.
Bodhisatto puttassa nipannach±y±yameva nis²ditv± bhuñji. Bhutt±vas±ne sabbepi d±r³ni uddharitv± ta½ citaka½ ±ropetv± gandhapupphehi p³jetv± jh±pesu½. Ekassa ca ekabindupi assu n±hosi, sabbepi subh±vitamaraºassatino honti. Tesa½ s²latejena sakkassa ±sana½ uºh±k±ra½ dassesi. Sakko bodhisattassa vacana½ sutv± br±hmaºi½ pucchi “amma, tuyha½ so ki½ hot²”ti? “Dasa m±se kucchin± pariharitv± thañña½ p±yetv± hatthap±de saºµhapetv± va¹¹hitaputto me, s±m²”ti. “Amma, pit± t±va purisabh±vena m± rodatu, m±tu hadaya½ pana muduka½ hoti, tva½ kasm± na rodas²”ti? S± arodanak±raºa½ kathent²–

Tattha anavhitoti aya½ t±ta may± paralokato anavhito ay±cito. ¾g±ti amh±ka½ geha½ ±gato. Itoti ito manussalokato gacchantopi may± ananuññ±tova gato. Yath±gatoti ±gacchantopi yath± attanova ruciy± ±gato, gacchantopi tatheva gato. Tatth±ti tasmi½ tassa ito gamane k± paridevan±. Þayham±noti g±th± vuttanayena veditabb±.

Mayha½ avuddhi pana paññ±yat²ti d²peti. ѱtimittasuhajj±nanti ñ±timittasuhad±na½ Ayameva v± p±µho. Bhiyyo noti ye amh±ka½ ñ±t² ca mitt± ca suhaday± ca, tesa½ adhikatar± arati siy±.

Tassattho– yath± n±ma yattha katthaci yutt±yutta½ labbhan²y±labbhan²ya½ aj±nanto b±lad±rako m±tu ucchaªge nisinno puººam±siya½ puººa½ canda½ ±k±se gacchanta½ disv± “amma, canda½ me dehi, amma, canda½ me deh²”ti punappuna½ rodati, eva½sampadameveta½, eva½nipphattikameva eta½ tassa ruººa½ hoti, yo peta½ k±lakata½ anusocati. Itopi ca b±latara½. Ki½k±raº±? So hi vijjam±nacanda½ anurodati, mayha½ pana pati mato etarahi avijjam±no s³lehi vijjhitv± ¹ayham±nopi na kiñci j±n±t²ti.

Tassattho– yath± n±ma udakakumbho ukkhipiyam±no patitv± sattadh± bhinno puna t±ni kap±l±ni paµip±µiy± µhapetv± sa½vidahitv± paµip±katika½ k±tu½ na sakkoti, yo petamanusocati, tassapi etamanusocana½ eva½nipphattikameva hoti, matassa puna j²v±petu½ asakkuºeyyatt± iddhimato v± iddh±nubh±vena bhinna½ kumbha½ sa½vidahitv± udakassa p³retu½ sakk± bhaveyya, k±lakato pana iddhibalen±pi na sakk± paµip±katita½ k±tunti. Sakko sabbesa½ dhammakatha½ sutv± pas²ditv± “tumhehi appamattehi maraºassati bh±vit±, tumhe ito paµµh±ya sahatthena kamma½ m± karittha, aha½, sakko devar±j±, aha½ vo gehe satta ratan±ni aparim±º±ni kariss±mi, tumhe d±na½ detha s²la½ rakkhatha, uposathakamma½ karotha, appamatt± hoth±”ti tesa½ ov±da½ datv± geha½ aparimitadhana½ katv± pakk±mi.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± sacc±ni pak±setv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi, saccapariyos±ne kuµumbiko sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi. Tad± d±s² khujjuttar± ahosi, dh²t± uppalavaºº±, putto r±hulo, m±t± khem±, br±hmaºo pana ahameva ahosinti.
