Bodhir±jakum±ro n±ma udenassa rañño putto tasmi½ k±le sa½sum±ragire vasanto eka½ pariyod±tasippa½ va¹¹haki½ pakkos±petv± aññehi r±j³hi asadisa½ katv± kokanada½ n±ma p±s±da½ k±r±pesi. K±r±petv± ca pana “aya½ va¹¹hak² aññassapi rañño evar³pa½ p±s±da½ kareyy±”ti macchar±yanto tassa akkh²ni upp±µ±pesi. Tenassa akkh²na½ upp±µitabh±vo bhikkhusaªghe p±kaµo j±to. Tasm± bhikkh³ dhammasabh±ya½ katha½ samuµµh±pesu½ “±vuso, bodhir±jakum±ro kira tath±r³passa va¹¹hakino akkh²ni upp±µ±pesi, aho kakkha¼o pharuso s±hasiko”ti. Satth± ±gantv± “k±ya nuttha, bhikkhave, etarahi kath±ya sannisinn±”ti pucchitv± “im±ya n±m±”ti vutte “na, bhikkhave, id±neva, pubbepesa kakkha¼o pharuso s±hasikova. Na kevalañca id±neva, pubbepesa khattiyasahass±na½ akkh²ni upp±µ±petv± m±retv± tesa½ ma½sena balikamma½ k±res²”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.

Bodhisatto aªgavijj±vasena tassa kakkha¼apharusas±hasikabh±va½ ñatv± “t±ta, tva½ kakkha¼o pharuso s±hasiko, pharusena n±ma laddha½ issariya½ aciraµµhitika½ hoti, so issariye vinaµµhe bhinnan±vo viya samudde patiµµha½ na labhati, tasm± m± evar³po ahos²”ti ta½ ovadanto dve g±th± abh±si–

atthaccaye m± ahu sampam³¼ho, bhinnaplavo s±garasseva majjhe.

kaly±ºak±r² kaly±ºa½, p±pak±r² ca p±paka½;

B±r±ºasir±j± gaªg±nad²t²re mahato nigrodharukkhasssa m³le s±ºi½ parikkhip±petv± upari vit±na½ k±r±petv± sayana½ paññapetv± niv±sa½ gaºhi. So jambud²patale sahassar±j±no gahetv± yujjham±nopi takkasila½ gahetu½ asakkonto attano purohita½ pucchi “±cariya, maya½ ettakehi r±j³hi saddhi½ ±gantv±pi takkasila½ gahetu½ na sakkoma, ki½ nu kho k±tabban”ti. “Mah±r±ja, sahassar±j³na½ akkh²ni upp±µetv± m±retv± kucchi½ ph±letv± pañcamadhurama½sa½ ±d±ya imasmi½ nigrodhe adhivatth±ya devat±ya balikamma½ katv± antavaµµ²hi rukkha½ parikkhipitv± lohitapañcaªgulik±ni karoma, eva½ no khippameva jayo bhavissat²”ti. Tasmi½ khaºe bodhisattassa vacana½ sallakkhesi. So “amh±ka½ ±cariyo ‘ime satt± b²j±nur³pa½ phala½ viya kamm±nur³pa½ vip±ka½ anubhont²’ti kathento ida½ disv± kathesi maññe”ti vatv± vilapanto dve g±th± abh±si–
16. “Ida½ tad±cariyavaco, p±r±sariyo yadabravi;
‘m± su tva½ akari p±pa½, ya½ tva½ pacch± kata½ tape’.
17. “Ayameva so piªgiya venas±kho, yamhi gh±tayi½ khattiy±na½ sahasssa½;
alaªkate candanas±r±nulitte, tameva dukkha½ pacc±gata½ maman”ti.
