Te tato paµµh±ya uyy±ne paµicchann± hutv± nikaººikavasena mantayam±n± “attheko up±yo, khagga½ sannayhitv± mah±-upaµµh±na½ gatak±le amacc±na½ antare µhatv± rañño pamattabh±va½ ñatv± khaggena paharitv± m±retu½ vaµµat²”ti vavatthapesu½. Kum±ro “s±dh³”ti sampaµicchitv± mah±-upaµµh±nak±le sannaddhakhaggo hutv± gantv± ito cito ca rañño paharaºok±sa½ upadh±reti. Tasmi½ khaºe r±j± dutiya½ g±tham±ha–

Ida½ vutta½ hoti– t±ta kum±ra, y± es± tava attano upaµµh±kehi saddhi½ uyy±ne ca g±me ca nikaººik± mantan±, yañceta½ id±ni mama m±raºatth±ya iti c²ti ca karaºa½, etampi sabba½ may± ñ±tanti.
Kum±ro “j±n±ti me veribh±va½ pit±”ti tato pal±yitv± upaµµh±k±na½ ±rocesi. Te sattaµµha divase atikkamitv± “kum±ra, na te pit±, veribh±va½ j±n±ti, takkamattena tva½ eva½saññ² ahosi, m±rehi nan”ti vadi½su. So ekadivasa½ khagga½ gahetv± sop±namatthake gabbhadv±re aµµh±si. R±j± sop±namatthake µhito tatiya½ g±tham±ha–

Tattha dhammen±ti sabh±vena. Pit± puttassa makkaµoti pit± makkaµo puttassa makkaµapotakassa. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– yath± araññe j±to makkaµo attano y³thapariharaºa½ ±saªkanto taruºassa makkaµapotakassa dantehi phala½ chinditv± purisabh±va½ n±seti, tath± tava atirajjak±massa phal±ni upp±µ±petv± purisabh±va½ n±sess±m²ti.
Kum±ro “gaºh±petuk±mo ma½ pit±”ti bh²to pal±yitv± “pitar±mhi santajjito”ti upaµµh±k±na½ ±rocesi. Te a¹¹ham±samatte v²tivatte “kum±ra, sace r±j± j±neyya, ettaka½ k±la½ n±dhiv±seyya, takkamattena tay± kathita½, m±rehi nan”ti vadi½su. So ekadivasa½ khagga½ gahetv± uparip±s±de sirisayana½ pavisitv± “±gacchantameva na½ m±ress±m²”ti heµµh±pallaªke nis²di. R±j± bhuttas±yam±so parijana½ uyyojetv± “nipajjiss±m²”ti sirigabbha½ pavisanto umm±re µhatv± catuttha½ g±tham±ha–

Eva½ tassa aj±nantasseva s± s± g±th± ta½ ta½ attha½ d²peti.
Kum±ro “ñ±tomhi pitar±, id±ni ma½ n±ssessat²”ti bhayappatto heµµh±sayan± nikkhamitv± khagga½ rañño p±dam³le cha¹¹etv± “kham±hi me, dev±”ti p±dam³le urena nipajji. R±j± “na mayha½ koci kamma½ j±n±t²ti tva½ cintes²”ti ta½ tajjetv± saªkhalikabandhanena bandh±petv± bandhan±g±ra½ paves±petv± ±rakkha½ µhapesi. Tad± r±j± bodhisattassa guºa½ sallakkhesi. So aparabh±ge k±lamak±si, tassa sar²rakicca½ katv± kum±ra½ bandhan±g±r± n²haritv± rajje patiµµh±pesu½.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± takkasil±ya½ dis±p±mokkho ±cariyo ahameva ahosin”ti.
