So kira rathena attano bhogag±ma½ gacchanto samb±dhe magge ratha½ p±jento eka½ sakaµasattha½ disv± “tumh±ka½ sakaµa½ apaneth±”ti gacchanto sakaµe anapan²yam±ne kujjhitv± patodalaµµhiy± purimasakaµe s±kaµikassa rathadhure pahari. S± rathadhure paµihat± nivattitv± tasseva nal±µa½ pahari. T±vadevassa nal±µe gaº¹o uµµhahi. So nivattitv± “s±kaµikehi pahaµomh²”ti rañño ±rocesi. S±kaµike pakkos±petv± vinicchinant± tasseva dosa½ addasa½su. Athekadivasa½ bhikkh³ dhammasabh±ya½ katha½ samuµµh±pesu½ “±vuso, rañño kira purohito ‘s±kaµikehi pahaµomh²’ti a¹¹a½ karonto sayameva parajj²”ti. Satth± ±gantv± “k±ya nuttha, bhikkhave, etarahi kath±ya sannisinn±”ti pucchitv± “im±ya n±m±”ti vutte “na, bhikkhave, id±neva, pubbepesa evar³pa½ ak±siyev±”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.
At²te b±r±ºasiya½ brahmadatte rajja½ k±rente bodhisatto tasseva vinicchay±macco ahosi. Atha rañño purohito rathena attano bhogag±ma½ gacchantoti sabba½ purimasadisameva. Idha pana tena rañño ±rocite r±j± saya½ vinicchaye nis²ditv± s±kaµike pakkos±petv± kamma½ asodhetv±va “tumhehi mama purohita½ koµµetv± nal±µe gaº¹o uµµh±pito”ti vatv± “sabbassaharaºa½ tesa½ karoth±”ti ±ha. Atha na½ bodhisatto “tumhe, mah±r±ja, kamma½ asodhetv±va etesa½ sabbassa½ har±petha, ekacce pana attan±va att±na½ paharitv±pi ‘parena pahaµamh±’ti vadanti, tasm± avicinitv± k±tu½ na yutta½, rajja½ k±rentena n±ma nis±metv± kamma½ k±tu½ vaµµat²”ti vatv± im± g±th± abh±si.
125. “Api hantv± hato br³ti, jetv± jitoti bh±sati;
pubbamakkh±yino r±ja, aññadatthu na saddahe.
126. “Tasm± paº¹itaj±tiyo, suºeyya itarassapi;
ubhinna½ vacana½ sutv±, yath± dhammo tath± kare.
127. “Alaso gih² k±mabhog² na s±dhu, asaññato pabbajito na s±dhu;
r±j± na s±dhu anisammak±r², yo paº¹ito kodhano ta½ na s±dhu.
128. “Nisamma khattiyo kayir±, n±nisamma disampati;
nisammak±rino r±ja, yaso kitti ca va¹¹hat²”ti.
Tattha api hantv±ti api eko attan±va att±na½ hantv± “parena pahaµomh²”ti br³ti katheti. Jetv± jitoti saya½ v± pana para½ jitv± “aha½ jitomh²”ti bh±sati. Aññadatth³ti mah±r±ja, pubbameva r±jakula½ gantv± akkh±yantassa pubbamakkh±yino aññadatthu na saddahe, eka½sena vacana½ na saddaheyya. Tasm±ti yasm± paµhamatara½ ±gantv± kathentassa eka½sena vacana½ na saddah±tabba½, tasm±. Yath± dhammoti yath± vinicchayasabh±vo µhito, tath± kareyya.

Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± br±hmaºo etarahi br±hmaºova ahosi, paº¹it±macco pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
