Tañhi satth± “sacca½ kira tva½ bhikkhu ukkaºµhitos²”ti pucchitv± “sacca½, bhante”ti vutte “kasm± bhikkhu m±tug±ma½ patthesi, m±tug±mo n±mesa asabbho akataññ³, pubbe d±navarakkhas± gilitv± kucchin± pariharant±pi m±tug±ma½ rakkhitu½ ekapurisanissita½ k±tu½ n±sakkhi½su, tva½ katha½ sakkhissas²”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.

Tattha bhoti ±lapana½. Kaccitth±ti kacci hotha bhavatha vijjatha. Bhontoti puna ±lapanto ±ha. Kusala½ an±mayanti kacci tumh±ka½ kusala½ ±rogya½. Cirassamabbh±gamanañhi vo idh±ti ajja tumh±ka½ idha abbh±gamanañca cira½ j±ta½.
Ta½ sutv± d±navo “aha½ imassa t±pasassa santika½ ekakova ±gato, ayañca t±paso ‘tayo jan±’ti vadati, ki½ n±mesa katheti, ki½ nu kho sabh±va½ ñatv± katheti, ud±hu ummattako hutv± vilapat²”ti cintetv± t±pasa½ upasaªkamitv± vanditv± ekamanta½ nis²ditv± tena saddhi½ sallapanto dutiya½ g±tham±ha–
88. “Ahameva eko idha majja patto, na c±pi me dutiyo koci vijjati;
kimeva sandh±ya te bh±sita½ ise, kuto nu ±gacchatha bho tayo jan±”ti.
Tattha idha majj±ti idha ajja. Kimeva sandh±ya te bh±sita½ iseti bhante, isi ki½ n±meta½ sandh±ya tay± bh±sita½, p±kaµa½ t±va me katv± katheh²ti.
T±paso “eka½senev±vuso sotuk±mos²”ti pucchitv± “±ma, bhante”ti vutte “tena hi suº±h²”ti vatv± tatiya½ g±tham±ha–
89. “Tuvañca eko bhariy± ca te piy±, samuggapakkhittanikiººamantare;
s± rakkhit± kucchigat±va te sad±, v±yussaputtena sah± tahi½ rat±”ti.
Tattha tuvañca ekoti paµhama½ t±va tva½ eko jano. Pakkhittanikiººamantareti pakkhitt±nikiººa-antare ta½ tattha bhariya½ rakkhituk±mena sad± tay± samugge pakkhitt± saddhi½ samuggena nikiºº± antare, antokucchiya½ µhapit±ti attho. V±yussaputtena sah±ti eva½n±makena vijj±dharena saddhi½. Tahi½ rat±ti tattha tava antokucchiyaññeva kilesaratiy± rat±. So d±ni tva½ m±tug±ma½ “eka½ purisanissita½ kariss±m²”ti kucchin±pi pariharanto tass± j±ra½ ukkhipitv± caras²ti.
Ta½ sutv± d±navo “vijj±dhar± n±ma bahum±y± honti, sacassa khaggo hatthagato bhavissati, kucchi½ me ph±letv±pi pal±yissat²”ti bh²tatasito hutv± khippa½ karaº¹aka½ uggilitv± purato µhapesi. Satth± abhisambuddho hutv± ta½ pavatti½ pak±sento catuttha½ g±tham±ha–
90. “Sa½viggar³po isin± viy±kato, so d±navo tattha samuggamuggili;
addakkhi bhariya½ sucim±ladh±rini½, v±yussaputtena sah± tahi½ ratan”ti.

s± dhammamukkamma adhammam±cari, akiriyar³po pamad±hi santhavo.
93. “Sar²ramajjhamhi µhit±ti maññaha½, mayha½ ayanti asati½ asaññata½;
s± dhammamukkamma adhammam±cari, akiriyar³po pamad±hi santhavo.
94. “Surakkhita½ meti katha½ nu vissase, anekacitt±su na hatthi rakkhaº±;
et± hi p±t±lapap±tasannibh±, etthappamatto byasana½ nigacchati.
95. “Tasm± hi te sukhino v²tasok±, ye m±tug±mehi caranti nissaµ±;

Sar²ramajjhamhi µhit±ti maññaha½, mayha½ ayanti asati½ asaññatanti ima½ asati½ asappurisadhammasamann±gata½ asaññata½ duss²la½ “mayha½ sar²ramajjhamhi µhit±”ti ca “mayha½ ayan”ti ca maññ±mi.
Surakkhita½ meti katha½ nu vissaseti aya½ may± surakkhit±ti katha½ paº¹ito viss±seyya, yatra hi n±ma m±disopi antokucchiya½ rakkhanto rakkhitu½ n±sakkhi. P±t±lapap±tasannibh±ti lokass±dena dupp³raº²yatt± mah±samudde p±t±lasaªkh±tena pap±tena sadis±. Etthappamattoti et±su evar³p±su nigguº±su pamatto puriso mah±byasana½ p±puº±ti. Tasm± h²ti yasm± m±tug±mavasa½ gat± mah±vin±sa½ p±puºanti, tasm± ye m±tug±mehi nissaµ± hutv± caranti, te sukhino. Eta½ sivanti yadeta½ m±tug±mato nissaµ±na½ visa½saµµh±na½ caraºa½, eta½ jh±nasukhameva siva½ khema½ uttama½ abhipatthetabba½, eta½ patthayam±no m±tug±mehi saddhi½ santhava½ na kareyy±ti.
Evañca pana vatv± d±navo mah±sattassa p±desu nipatitv± “bhante, tumhe niss±ya may± j²vita½ laddha½, aha½ im±ya p±padhamm±ya vijj±dharena m±r±pito”ti mah±satta½ abhitthavi. Sopissa dhamma½ desetv± “imiss± m± kiñci p±pa½ ak±si, s²l±ni gaºh±h²”ti ta½ pañcasu s²lesu patiµµh±pesi. D±navo “aha½ kucchin± pariharantopi ta½ rakkhitu½ na sakkomi, añño ko rakkhissat²”ti ta½ uyyojetv± attano araññameva agam±si.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± sacc±ni pak±setv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi, saccapariyos±ne ukkaºµhitabhikkhu sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi. Tad± dibbacakkhukat±paso ahameva ahosinti.
