At²te b±r±ºasiya½ brahmadatte rajja½ k±rente bodhisatto aññatarasmi½ k±sig±me br±hmaºakule nibbattitv± vayappatto k±mesu ±d²nava½ disv± k±me pah±ya isipabbajja½ pabbajitv± abhiññ± ca sam±pattiyo ca upp±detv± jh±nak²¼a½ k²¼anto himavante ramaº²ye vanasaº¹e vasati. Tad± b±r±ºasir±j± catunna½ nerayik±na½ imeva catt±ro sadde sutv± bh²tatasito imin±va niy±mena br±hmaºehi “tiººa½ antar±y±na½ aññataro bhavissati, sabbacatukkayaññena ta½ v³pasamess±m±”ti vutte sampaµicchi. Purohito br±hmaºehi saddhi½ yaññ±v±µa½ paccupaµµh±pesi, mah±jano th³º³pan²to ahosi. Tad± purohitassa jeµµhantev±siko ±cariya½ upasaªkamitv± “nanu, ±cariya, amh±ka½ vedesu para½ m±retv± sotthikaraºa½ n±ma natth²”ti ±ha. Purohito “tva½ r±jadhana½ rakkhasi, bahu½ macchama½sa½ kh±diss±ma, dhana½ labhiss±ma, tuºh² hoh²”ti ta½ paµib±hi.

Bodhisatto “ki½, m±ºava, r±j± dhammena rajja½ k±ret²”ti pucchi. “Bhante, r±j± dhammena rajja½ k±reti, rattibh±ge pana catt±ro sadde sutv± br±hmaºe pucchi. Br±hmaº± ‘sabbacatukkayañña½ yajitv± sotthi½ kariss±m±”’ti vadi½su. R±j± pasugh±takamma½ katv± attano sotthi½ k±tuk±mo mah±jano th³º³pan²to, “ki½ nu kho, bhante, tumh±dis±na½ s²lavant±na½ tesa½ sadd±na½ nipphatti½ vatv± mah±jana½ maraºamukh± mocetu½ vaµµat²”ti. “M±ºava, r±j± amhe na j±n±ti, mayampi ta½ na j±n±ma, imesa½ pana sadd±na½ nipphatti½ j±n±ma, sace r±j± amhe upasaªkamitv± puccheyya, r±j±na½ nikkaªkha½ katv± kathess±m±”ti. “Tena hi, bhante, muhutta½ idheva hotha, aha½ r±j±na½ ±ness±m²”ti. “S±dhu, m±ºav±”ti. So gantv± rañño tamattha½ ±rocetv± r±j±na½ ±nesi.
Atha r±j± bodhisatta½ vanditv± ekamanta½ nisinno pucchi “sacca½ kira tumhe may± sutasadd±na½ nipphatti½ j±n±th±”ti? “¾ma, mah±r±j±”ti. “Kathetha, bhante”ti. “Mah±r±ja, ete purimabhave paresa½ rakkhitagopitesu d±resu c±ritta½ ±pajjitv± b±r±ºasis±mante cat³su lohakumbh²su nibbatt± pakkuthite kh±ralohodake pheºuddehaka½ paccam±n± ti½sa vassasahass±ni adho gantv± kumbhitala½ ±hacca uddha½ ±rohant± ti½savassasahasseneva k±lena kumbhimukha½ disv± bahi oloketv± catt±ro jan± catasso g±th± paripuººa½ katv± vattuk±m±pi tath± k±tu½ asakkont± ekekameva akkhara½ vatv± puna lohakumbh²suyeva nimugg±. 54. “Saµµhi vassasahass±ni, paripuºº±ni sabbaso;
niraye paccam±n±na½, kad± anto bhavissat²”ti.
Na-k±ra½ vatv± vattuk±massa aya½ g±th±–
55. “Natthi anto kuto anto, na anto paµidissati;
tad± hi pakata½ p±pa½, mama tuyhañca m±ris±”ti.
So-k±ra½ vatv± vattuk±massa aya½ g±th±–
56. “Soha½ n³na ito gantv±, yoni½ laddh±na m±nusi½;
vadaññ³ s²lasampanno, k±h±mi kusala½ bahun”ti.
Tattha dujj²vitanti t²ºi duccarit±ni caranto dujj²vita½ l±makaj²vita½ j²vati n±ma, sopi tadeva sandh±y±ha “dujj²vitamaj²vimh±”ti. Ye sante na dadamhaseti ye maya½ deyyadhamme ca paµigg±hake ca sa½vijjam±neyeva na d±na½ dadimha. D²pa½ n±kamha attanoti attano patiµµha½ na karimha. Paripuºº±n²ti an³n±ni anadhik±ni. Sabbasoti sabb±k±rena. Paccam±n±nanti amh±ka½ imasmi½ niraye paccam±n±na½.
Natthi antoti “amh±ka½ asukak±le n±ma mokkho bhavissat²”ti eva½ k±laparicchedo natthi. Kuto antoti kena k±raºena anto paññ±yissati. Na antoti anta½ daµµhuk±m±nampi no dukkhassa anto na paµidissati. Tad± hi pakatanti tasmi½ k±le m±ris± mama ca tuyhañca pakata½ p±pa½ pakaµµha½ kata½ atibahumeva kata½. “Tath± hi pakatan”tipi p±µho, tena k±raºena kata½, yenassa anto daµµhu½ na sakk±ti attho. M±ris±ti may± sadis±, piy±lapanameta½ etesa½. N³n±ti eka½satthe nip±to, so aha½ ito gantv± yoni½ m±nusi½ laddh±na vadaññ³ s²lasampanno hutv± eka½seneva bahu½ kusala½ kariss±m²ti ayamettha attho.
Iti bodhisatto ekameka½ g±tha½ vatv± “mah±r±ja, so nerayikasatto ima½ g±tha½ paripuººa½ katv± vattuk±mo attano p±passa mahantat±ya tath± kathetu½ n±sakkhi, iti so attano kammavip±ka½ anubhavanto viravi. Tumh±ka½ etassa saddassa savanapaccay± antar±yo n±ma natthi, tumhe m± bh±yitth±”ti r±j±na½ saññ±pesi. R±j± mah±jana½ vissajj±petv± suvaººabheri½ car±petv± yaññ±v±µa½ viddha½s±pesi. Bodhisatto mah±janassa sotthi½ katv± katip±ha½ vasitv± tattheva gantv± aparih²najjh±no brahmaloke uppajji.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± sacc±ni pak±setv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± purohitassa jeµµhantev±sikam±ºavo s±riputto ahosi, t±paso pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
