Parisaªkupatho n±m±ti ida½ satth± jetavane viharanto eka½ dubbacabhikkhu½ ±rabbha kathesi. So kira eko kulaputto niyy±nikas±sane pabbajitv±pi atthak±mehi ±cariyupajjh±yehi ceva sabrahmac±r²hi ca “eva½ te abhikkamitabba½, eva½ paµikkamitabba½, eva½ ±lokitabba½, eva½ vilokitabba½, eva½ samiñjitabba½, eva½ pas±ritabba½, eva½ niv±setabba½, eva½ p±rupitabba½, eva½ patto gahetabbo, y±panamatta½ bhatta½ gahetv± paccavekkhitv±va paribhuñjitabba½, indriyesu guttadv±rena bhojane mattaññun± j±gariyamanuyuttena bhavitabba½, ida½ ±gantukavatta½ n±ma j±nitabba½, ida½ gamikavatta½ n±ma, im±ni cuddasa khandhakavatt±ni, as²ti mah±vatt±ni. Tattha te samm± vattitabba½, ime terasa dhutaªgaguº± n±ma, ete sam±d±ya vattitabban”ti ovadiyam±no dubbaco ahosi akkhamo appadakkhiºagg±h² anus±sani½. “Aha½ tumhe na vad±mi, tumhe pana ma½ kasm± vadatha, ahameva attano attha½ v± anattha½ v± j±niss±m²”ti att±na½ avacan²ya½ ak±si. So “s±dh³”ti vatv±pi ekadivasa½ pana vuµµhe deve gijjhehi saddhi½ uppatitv± sese oh±ya atibh³mi½ gantv± verambhav±tamukha½ patv± cuººavicuººabh±va½ p±puºi. 1. “Parisaªkupatho n±ma, gijjhapantho sanantano;
tatr±si m±t±pitaro, gijjho posesi jiººake;
tesa½ ajagarameda½, accah±si bahuttaso.
2. “Pit± ca putta½ avaca, j±na½ ucca½ pap±tina½;
supatta½ th±masampanna½, tejassi½ d³rag±mina½.
3. “Pariplavanta½ pathavi½, yad± t±ta vij±nahi;
s±garena parikkhitta½, cakka½va parimaº¹ala½;
tato t±ta nivattassu, m±ssu etto para½ gami.
4. “Udapattosi vegena, bal² pakkh² dijuttamo;
olokayanto vakkaªgo, pabbat±ni van±ni ca.
5. “Addassa pathavi½ gijjho, yath±s±si pitussuta½;
s±garena parikkhitta½, cakka½va parimaº¹ala½.
6. “Tañca so samatikkamma, paramevaccavattatha;
tañca v±tasikh± tikkh±, accah±si bali½ dija½.
7. “N±sakkh±tigato poso, punadeva nivattitu½;
dijo byasanam±p±di, verambh±na½ vasa½ gato.
8. “Tassa putt± ca d±r± ca, ye caññe anuj²vino;
sabbe byasanam±p±du½, anov±dakare dije.
9. “Evampi idha vu¹¹h±na½, yo v±kya½ n±vabujjhati;
atis²macaro ditto, gijjhov±t²tas±sano;
sa ve byasana½ pappoti, akatv± vu¹¹has±sanan”ti.
Tattha parisaªkupathoti saªkupatho. Manuss± hiraññasuvaººatth±ya gacchant± tasmi½ padese kh±ºuke koµµetv± tesu rajjuyo bandhitv± gacchanti, tena so gijjhapabbate jaªghamaggo “saªkupatho”ti vuccati. Gijjhapanthoti gijjhapabbatamatthake mah±maggo. Sanantanoti por±ºo. Tatr±s²ti tasmi½ gijjhapabbatamatthake saªkupathe eko gijjho ±si, so jiººake m±t±pitaro posesi. Ajagaramedanti ajagar±na½ meda½. Accah±s²ti ativiya ±hari. Bahuttasoti bahuso. J±na½ ucca½ pap±tinanti “putto te ati-ucca½ µh±na½ laªghat²”ti sutv± “ucce pap±t² ayan”ti j±nanto. Tejassinti purisatejasampanna½. D³rag±minanti teneva tejena d³rag±mi½. Pariplavantanti uppalapatta½ viya udake uplavam±na½. Vij±nah²ti vij±n±si. Cakka½va parimaº¹alanti yasmi½ te padese µhitassa samuddena paricchinno jambud²po cakkamaº¹ala½va paññ±yati, tato t±ta nivatt±h²ti ovadanto evam±ha.
Udapattos²ti pitu ov±da½ akatv± ekadivasa½ gijjhehi saddhi½ uppatito te oh±ya pitar± kathitaµµh±na½ agam±si. Olokayantoti ta½ µh±na½ patv± heµµh± olokento. Vakkaªgoti vaªkag²vo. Yath±s±si pitussutanti yath±ssa pitu santik± suta½ ±si, tatheva addasa, “yath±ss±s²”tipi p±µho. Paramevaccavattath±ti pitar± akkh±taµµh±nato para½ ativattova. Tañca v±tasikh± tikkh±ti ta½ anov±daka½ balimpi sam±na½ dija½ tikhiºaverambhav±tasikh± accah±si atihari, cuººavicuººa½ ak±si. N±sakkh±tigatoti n±sakkhi atigato. Posoti satto. Anov±dakareti tasmi½ dije paº¹it±na½ ov±da½ akaronte sabbepi te mah±dukkha½ p±puºi½su. Akatv± vu¹¹has±sananti vu¹¹h±na½ hitak±m±na½ vacana½ akatv± evameva byasana½ mah±dukkha½ p±puº±ti. Tasm± tva½ bhikkhu m± gijjhasadiso bhava, atthak±m±na½ vacana½ karoh²ti. So satth±r± eva½ ovadito tato paµµh±ya suvaco ahosi.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± dubbacagijjho etarahi dubbacabhikkhu ahosi, gijjhapit± pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
