Tassa pana dinnadivasato dutiyadivase dhammasabh±ya½ katha½ samuµµh±pesu½ “±vuso, kosalar±j± vicinitv±va puññakkhetta½ ñatv± buddhappamukhassa ariyasaªghassa asadisad±na½ ad±s²”ti. Te ±vajjam±n± raññ± attano nimantitabh±va½ ñatv± punadivase satta paccekabuddhe ±mantetv± “m±ris±, r±j± vo nimanteti, tassa saªgaha½ karoth±”ti vadi½su. Satta paccekabuddh± ±k±sen±gantv± r±jadv±re otari½su. Jar±ya maraºena c±ti desan±s²sameta½, atthato panesa ek±dasahi agg²hi ±d²pito n±ma. N²harethev±ti tato ek±dasati agg²hi pajjalitalok± dasavidhad±navatthubheda½ ta½ ta½ parikkh±rad±na½ cetan±ya nikka¹¹hetheva. Dinna½ hot²ti appa½ v± bahu½ v± ya½ dinna½, tadeva sun²hata½ n±ma hot²ti.

Tattha dhammaladdhass±ti kh²º±sava½ ±di½ katv± y±va sukkhavipassakayog±vacaro puggalo dhammassa laddhatt± dhammaladdho n±ma. Sveva uµµh±nav²riyena tassa dhammassa adhigatatt± uµµh±nav²riy±dhigato n±ma. Tassa puggalassa yo jantu dad±ti d±nanti attho, dhammena laddhassa uµµh±nasaªkh±tena v²riyena adhigatassa deyyadhammassa agga½ gahetv± yo jantu s²lavantesu d±na½ dad±t²tipi attho. Upayogatthe v± s±mivacana½ katv±pettha attho veditabbo. Vetaraºinti desan±s²sameta½, aµµha mah±niraye so¼asa ca ussade atikkamitv±ti attho. Dibb±ni µh±n±ni upet²ti devaloke uppajjati.
Sam±nam±h³ti sadisa½ vadanti. Khayabh²rukassa hi d±na½ natthi, bhayabh²rukassa yuddha½ natthi. J²vite ±laya½ vijahitv± yujjantova yujjhitu½ sakkoti, bhogesu ±laya½ vijahitv± d±yako d±tu½ sakkoti, teneva ta½ ubhaya½ “sam±nan”ti vadanti. App±pi sant±ti thok±pi sam±n± pariccattaj²vit± bahuke jinanti, evameva app±pi muñcacetan± bahumpi maccheracitta½ lobh±di½ v± kilesagahana½ jin±ti. Appampi ceti thokampi ce deyyadhamma½ kammañca phalañca saddahanto deti. Teneva soti tena parittadeyyadhammavatthukena parittaken±pi c±gena so parattha sukh² hoti, mah±r±j±ti.
Viceyya d±nanti dakkhiºañca dakkhiºeyyañca vicinitv± dinnad±na½. Tattha ya½ v± ta½ v± adatv± agga½ paº²ta½ deyyadhamma½ vicinitv± dadanto dakkhiºa½ vicin±ti n±ma, yesa½ tesa½ v± adatv± s²l±diguºasampanne vicinitv± tesa½ dadanto dakkhiºeyya½ vicin±ti n±ma. Sugatappasatthanti evar³pa½ d±na½ buddhehi pasattha½. Tattha dakkhiºeyyavicinana½ dassetu½ “ye dakkhiºeyy±”ti-±di vutta½. Tattha dakkhiºeyy±ti dakkhiº±ya anucchavik± buddh±dayo.
P±ºabh³t±n²ti p±ºasaªkh±t±ni bh³t±ni. Aheµhaya½ caranti k±ruññena aviheµhayanto caram±no. Par³pav±d±ti par³pav±dabhayena p±pa½ na karoti. Bh²runti upav±dabh²ruka½. Na tattha s³ranti yo pana ayonisomanasik±rena tasmi½ upav±de s³ro hoti, ta½ paº¹it± nappasa½santi. Bhay± h²ti upav±dabhayena hi paº¹it± p±pa½ na karonti.
H²nena brahmacariyen±ti b±hiratitth±yatane t±va methunaviratis²lamattaka½ h²na½ brahmacariya½ n±ma, tena khattiyakule uppajjati. Jh±nassa upac±ramatta½ majjhima½, tena devaloke uppajjati. Aµµha sam±pattiyo uttama½, tena brahmaloke uppajjanto visujjhati n±ma. S±sane pana s²lavantasseva eka½ devanik±ya½ paºidh±ya brahmacariya½ h²na½ n±ma, parisuddhas²lasseva sam±pattinibbattana½ majjhima½ n±ma, parisuddhas²le µhatv± vipassana½ va¹¹hetv± arahattuppatti uttama½ n±ma.
Os±nag±th±ya ayamattho– mah±r±ja, kiñc±pi eka½seneva d±na½ bahudh± pasattha½ vaººita½, d±nato pana samathavipassan±saªkh±ta½ nibb±nasaªkh±tañca dhammakoµµh±sabh³ta½ dhammapadameva uttaritara½. Ki½k±raº±? Pubbeva hi imasmi½ kappe kassapadasabal±dayo pubbatareva vessabh³dasabal±dayo santo sappuris± sapaññ± samathavipassana½ bh±vetv± nibb±nameva ajjhagamu½ adhigat±ti.
Eva½ satta paccekabuddh± anumodan±ya rañño amatamah±nibb±na½ vaººetv± r±j±na½ appam±dena ovaditv± vuttanayeneva attano vasanaµµh±nameva gat±. R±j±pi saddhi½ aggamahesiy± d±na½ datv± y±vaj²va½ µhatv± tato cavitv± saggapura½ p³resi.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± “eva½ pubbepi paº¹it± viceyya d±na½ ada½s³”ti vatv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± paccekabuddh± parinibb±yi½su, samuddavijay± r±hulam±t± ahosi, roruvamah±r±j± pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
