Tattha yo indriy±nanti n±rada, yo puriso r³p±d²su subh±k±ra½ gahetv± kilesak±mavasena channa½ indriy±na½ vasa½ gacchati. Pariccajjubho loketi so manussalokañca devalokañc±ti ubholoke pariccajitv± niray±d²su nibbattant²ti attho. J²vantova visussat²ti j²vantoyeva attan± icchita½ kilesavatthu½ alabhanto sokena visussati, mah±dukkha½ p±puº±t²ti.
Ta½ sutv± n±rado “±cariya, k±masevana½ n±ma sukha½, evar³pa½ sukha½ ki½ sandh±ya dukkhanti vadas²”ti pucchi. Athassa sarabhaªgo “tena hi suº±h²”ti dutiya½ g±tham±ha–

Tattha sukhass±nantaranti k±masukhassa anantara½ nirayadukkha½. Dukkhass±ti s²larakkhaºadukkhassa anantara½ dibbam±nusakasukhañceva nibb±nasukhañca. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– n±rada, ime hi satt± k±masevanasamaye k±la½ katv± ekantadukkhe niraye nibbattanti, s²la½ rakkhant± vipassan±ya kamma½ karont± ca pana kilamanti, te dukkhena s²la½ rakkhitv± s²labalena vuttappak±ra½ sukha½ labhanti, ida½ dukkha½ sandh±y±ha½ eva½ vad±m²ti. Sosi pattoti so tva½ n±rada, id±ni jh±nasukha½ n±setv± tato sukh± mahanta½ k±manissita½ cetasikadukkha½ patto. P±µikaªkh±ti ida½ kilesadukkha½ cha¹¹etv± puna tadeva vara½ uttama½ jh±nasukha½ iccha pattheh²ti.

sa kicchanta½ sukha½ dh²ro, yoga½ samadhigacchat²”ti.
Tattha n±tivattat²ti n±nuvattati, ayameva v± p±µho. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– n±rada, yo k±yikacetasikadukkhasaªkh±tassa kicchassa uppannak±le appamatto tassa kicchassa haraº³p±ya½ karonto kicchasaho hutv± ta½ kiccha½ n±nuvattati, tassa vase avattitv± tehi tehi up±yehi ta½ kiccha½ abhibhavati vin±seti, so dh²ro kicchassa antimasaªkh±ta½ nir±misasukhasaªkh±ta½ jh±nasukha½ adhigacchati, ta½ v± kicchanta½ yogasukha½ adhigacchati, akilamantova p±puº±t²ti.

Tattha dakkha½ gahapat²ti n±rada ghar±v±sa½ vasant±na½ gahapat²na½ bhogupp±danatth±ya analasyachekakusalabh±vasaªkh±ta½ dakkha½ n±ma s±dhu, dakkhabh±vo bhaddako. Sa½vibhajjañca bhojananti dukkhena upp±ditabhog±na½ dhammikasamaºabr±hmaºehi saddhi½ sa½vibhajitv± paribhogakaraºa½ dutiya½ s±dhu. Ah±so atthal±bhes³ti mahante issariye uppanne appam±davasena ah±so anuppil±vitatta½ tatiya½ s±dhu. Atthaby±patt²ti yad± pana attano atthaby±patti yasavin±so hoti, tad± abyatho akilamana½ catuttha½ s±dhu, tasm± tva½, n±rada, “jh±na½ me antarahitan”ti m± soci, sace indriy±na½ vasa½ na gamissasi, naµµhampi te jh±na½ puna p±katikameva bhavissat²ti.
Ta½ puna k±¼adevilena n±radassa ovaditabh±va½ ñatv± satth± abhisambuddho hutv± chaµµha½ g±tham±ha–
65. “Ett±vateta½ paº¹icca½, api so devilo bravi;
na yito kiñci p±piyo, yo indriy±na½ vasa½ vaje”ti.
Tassattho bhikkhave, ettaka½ eta½ paº¹icca½ soya½ devilo abravi. Yo pana kilesavasena indriy±na½ vasa½ vajati, ito añño p±piyo natth²ti.
Atha na½ sarabhaªgo ±mantetv± “n±rada, ida½ t±va suºa, yo hi paµhamameva kattabbayuttaka½ na karoti, so arañña½ paviµµham±ºavako viya socati paridevat²”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.
At²te ekasmi½ k±sinigame eko br±hmaºam±ºavo abhir³po ahosi th±masampanno n±gabalo. So cintesi– “ki½ me kasikamm±d²ni katv± m±t±pit³hi puµµhehi, ki½ puttad±rena, ki½ d±n±d²hi puññehi katehi, kañci aposetv± kiñci puñña½ akatv± arañña½ pavisitv± mige m±retv± att±na½yeva posess±m²”ti? So pañc±vudhasannaddho himavanta½ gantv± n±n±mige vadhitv± kh±danto antohimavante vidhav±ya n±ma nadiy± t²re giriparikkhitta½ mahanta½ pabbataj±la½ patv± tattha mige vadhitv± aªg±re pakkama½sa½ kh±danto v±sa½ kappesi. So cintesi “aha½ sabbad± th±masampanno na bhaviss±mi, dubbalak±le araññe caritu½ na sakkhiss±mi, id±neva n±n±vaººe mige pabbataj±la½ pavesetv± dv±ra½ yojetv± arañña½ an±hiº¹antova yath±ruciy± mige vadhitv± kh±diss±m²”ti tath± ak±si. Eva½ addh±ne gate siviraµµhe sivir±j± n±ma “araññe aªg±rapakkama½sa½ kh±diss±m²”ti amacc±na½ rajja½ niyy±detv± pañc±vudhasannaddho arañña½ pavisitv± mige vadhitv± ma½sa½ kh±dam±no anupubbena ta½ padesa½ patv± ta½ purisa½ disv± bh²topi sati½ upaµµhapetv± “kosi tva½ ambho puris±”ti pucchi. “S±mi, manussapeto aha½, attano katakammassa phala½ anubhomi, tva½ pana kos²”ti? “Sivir±j±hamasm²”ti. “Atha kasm± idh±gatos²”ti? “Migama½sa½ kh±danatth±y±”ti.
