Satth± ±gantv± “k±ya nuttha, bhikkhave, etarahi kath±ya sannisinn±”ti pucchitv± “im±ya n±m±”ti vutte “anacchariya½, bhikkhave, may± d±ni anek±ni kappakoµisatasahass±ni p³ritap±ramin± mah±bhinikkhamana½, pubbep±ha½ tiyojanasatike k±siraµµhe rajja½ cha¹¹etv± nikkhantoyev±”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.
At²te b±r±ºasiya½ brahmadatte rajja½ k±rente bodhisatto tassa purohitassa aggamahesiy± kucchimhi nibbatti, tassa j±tadivaseyeva b±r±ºasiraññopi putto j±yi. Tesa½ n±maggahaºadivase mah±sattassa sus²makum±roti n±ma½ aka½su, r±japuttassa brahmadattakum±roti. B±r±ºasir±j± “puttena me saddhi½ ekadivase j±to”ti bodhisatta½ ±º±petv± dh±tiyo datv± tena saddhi½ ekato va¹¹hesi. R±j± “hotu, gaccha na½ samass±sehi, purohita½ r±j±na½ katv± tassa ta½ aggamahesi½ kariss±m²”ti ±ha. S± ±gantv± ta½ samass±sesi. R±j±pi purohita½ pakkos±petv± etamattha½ ±rocetv± “samma, m±tu me j²vita½ dehi, tva½ r±j± bhavissasi, s± aggamahes², aha½ upar±j±”ti ±ha. So “na sakk± eva½ k±tun”ti paµikkhipitv± tena punappuna½ y±ciyam±no sampaµicchi. R±j± purohita½ r±j±na½, m±tara½ aggamahesi½ k±retv± saya½ upar±j± ahosi.
Tesa½ samaggav±sa½ vasant±na½ aparabh±ge bodhisatto ag±ramajjhe ukkaºµhito k±me pah±ya pabbajj±ya ninnacitto kilesarati½ anall²yanto ekakova tiµµhati, ekakova nis²dati, ekakova sayati, bandhan±g±re baddho viya pañjare pakkhittakukkuµo viya ca ahosi. Athassa aggamahes² “aya½ r±j± may± saddhi½ n±bhiramati, ekakova tiµµhati nis²dati seyya½ kappeti, aya½ kho pana daharo taruºo, aha½ mahallik±, s²se me palit±ni paññ±yanti, ya½n³n±ha½ ‘s²se te deva, eka½ palita½ paññ±yat²’ti mus±v±da½ katv± ekenup±yena r±j±na½ pattiy±petv± may± saddhi½ abhiram±peyyan”ti cintetv± ekadivasa½ rañño s²se ³k± vicinant² viya hutv± “deva, mahallakosi j±to, s²se te eka½ palita½ paññ±yat²”ti ±ha. “Tena hi bhadde, eta½ palita½ luñjitv± mayha½ hatthe µhapeh²”ti. S± tassa s²sato eka½ kesa½ luñjitv± attano s²se palita½ gahetv± “ida½ te, deva, palitan”ti tassa hatthe µhapesi. Bodhisattassa ta½ disv±va bh²tatasitassa kañcanapaµµasadis± nal±µ± sed± mucci½su.
So att±na½ ovadanto “sus²ma, tva½ daharo hutv± mahallako j±to, ettaka½ k±la½ g³thakalale nimuggo g±mas³karo viya k±makalale nimujjitv± ta½ kalala½ jahitu½ na sakkosi, nanu k±me pah±ya himavanta½ pavisitv± pabbajitv± brahmacariyav±sassa te k±lo”ti cintetv± paµhama½ g±tham±ha–

t±najja set±ni sus²ma disv±, dhamma½ cara brahmacariyassa k±lo”ti.

115. “Mameva deva palita½ na tuyha½, mameva s²sa½ mama uttamaªga½;
‘attha½ karissan’ti mus± abh±ºi½, ek±par±dha½ khama r±jaseµµha.
116. “Daharo tuva½ dassaniyosi r±ja, paµhamuggato hoti yath± ka¼²ro;
rajjañca k±rehi mamañca passa, m± k±lika½ anudh±v² janind±”ti.

Ahañhi n²luppal±dikusumad±masadisakum±r±na½ kañcanar³papaµibh±g±na½ uttamayobbanavil±sasampatt±na½ khattiyakaññ±d²na½ vaye pariºamante jara½ patt±na½ vevaººiyañceva sar²rabhaªgañca pass±mi. daº¹a½ gahetv±na pavedham±na½, gop±nas²bhoggasama½ carantin”ti.

Tamena pass±miparena n±rinti tamena½ n±ri½ aparena samayena jara½ patta½ antarahitar³pasobhaggappatta½ pass±mi. Bodhisatto hi paµhamag±th±ya r³pe ass±da½ kathetv± id±ni ±d²nava½ dassento evam±ha. ¾s²tika½ n±vutika½va jacc±ti as²tisa½vacchara½ v± navutisa½vacchara½ v± j±tiy±. Gop±nas²bhoggasamanti gop±nas²sama½ bhogga½, gop±nas²-±k±rena bhaggasar²ra½ onamitv± naµµhak±kaºika½ pariyesanti½ viya caram±nanti attho. K±mañca bodhisattena daharak±le disv± puna n±vutikak±le diµµhapubb± n±ma natthi, ñ±ºena diµµhabh±va½ sandh±ya paneta½ vutta½.

119. “Soha½ tamev±nuvicintayanto, eko say±mi sayanassa majjhe;
‘ahampi eva½’ iti pekkham±no, na gahe rame brahmacariyassa k±lo.
120. “Rajjuv±lamban² ces±, y± gehe vasato rati;
etampi chetv±na vajanti dh²r±, anapekkhino k±masukha½ pah±y±”ti.
Tattha sohanti so aha½. Tamev±nuvicintayantoti tameva r³p±na½ ass±dañca ±d²navañca cintento. Eva½ iti pekkham±noti “yath± es± pariºat±, ahampi jara½ patto bhaggasar²ro bhaviss±m²”ti pekkham±no. Na gahe rameti gehe na ram±mi. Brahmacariyassa k±loti bhadde, brahmacariyassa me k±lo, tasm± pabbajiss±m²ti d²peti.
