R±j± tath±gata½ antonivesana½ pavesetv± buddhappamukhassa saªghassa mah±d±na½ pavattesi. Satth± bhattakiccapariyos±ne anumodana½ karonto “mah±r±ja, bhaddavatik± kahan”ti pucchi. “Na j±n±mi, bhante”ti. “Mah±r±ja, upak±rak±na½ yasa½ datv± mahallakak±le gahetu½ n±ma na vaµµati, kataññun± katavedin± bhavitu½ vaµµati. Bhaddavatik± id±ni mahallik± jar±jiºº± an±th± hutv± araññe ketak±ni kh±dant² j²vati, ta½ jiººak±le an±tha½ k±tu½ tumh±ka½ ayuttan”ti bhaddavatik±ya guºa½ kathetv± “sabba½ por±ºakaparih±ra½ paµip±katika½ karoh²”ti vatv± pakk±mi. Satth± ±gantv± “k±ya nuttha, bhikkhave, etarahi kath±ya sannisinn±”ti pucchitv± “im±ya n±m±”ti vutte “na, bhikkhave, id±neva, pubbepi tath±gato etiss± guºa½ kathetv± naµµhayasa½ paµip±katika½ k±resiyev±”ti vatv± at²ta½ ±hari.

Tad± tassa rañño ek± oµµhiby±dhi hatthin² th±mabalasampann± mahabbal± ahosi. S± ekadivasa½ yojanasata½ gacchati, rañño d³teyyaharaºakicca½ karoti, saªg±me yuddha½ katv± sattu maddana½ karoti. R±j± “aya½ me bah³pak±r±”ti tass± sabb±laªk±ra½ datv± udenena bhaddavatik±ya dinnasadisa½ sabba½ parih±ra½ d±pesi. Athass± jiººadubbalak±le r±j± sabba½ yasa½ gaºhi. S± tato paµµh±ya an±th± hutv± araññe tiºapaºº±ni kh±dant² j²vati. Athekadivasa½ r±jakule bh±janesu appahontesu r±j± kumbhak±ra½ pakkos±petv± “bh±jan±ni kira nappahont²”ti ±ha. “Gomay±haraºay±nake yojetu½ goºe na labh±mi, dev±”ti. R±j± tassa katha½ sutv± “amh±ka½ oµµhiby±dhi kahan”ti pucchi. “Attano dhammat±ya carati, dev±”ti. R±j± “ito paµµh±ya ta½ yojetv± gomaya½ ±har±”ti ta½ kumbhak±rassa ad±si. Kumbhak±ro “s±dhu, dev±”ti tath± ak±si.

Dharant² urasi sallanti urasmi½ baddha½ kaº¹a½ v± asi½ v± satti½ v± yuddhak±le satt³na½ upari abhiharant². Vikkantac±rin²ti vikkama½ parakkama½ katv± parabalavijayena yuddhe vikkantag±min². Ida½ vutta½ hoti– sace s±mi, aha½ im±ni kicc±ni karont² rañño da¼hadhammassa citta½ n±r±dhayi½ na paritosesi½, ko d±ni añño tassa citta½ ±r±dhayissat²ti.
Mama vikkamaporisanti may± kata½ purisaparakkama½. Sukatant±n²ti sukat±ni. Yath± hi kamm±neva kammant±ni, van±neva vanant±ni, evamidha sukat±neva “sukatant±n²”ti vutt±ni. 102. “Yo pubbe katakaly±ºo, katattho n±vabujjhati;
atth± tassa palujjanti, ye honti abhipatthit±.
103. “Yo pubbe katakaly±ºo, katattho manubujjhati;
atth± tassa pava¹¹hanti, ye honti abhipatthik±.
104. “Ta½ vo vad±mi bhaddante, y±vantettha sam±gat±;
sabbe kataññuno hotha, cira½ saggamhi µhassath±”ti.
Tattha paµhamag±th±ya t±va attho– idhekacco aññ±ºaj±tiko poso y±vat±s²sat², y±va “ida½ n±ma me aya½ k±tu½ sakkhissat²”ti pacc±s²sati, t±vadeva ta½ purisa½ pav²ºati bhajati sevati, tassa pana atth±p±ye va¹¹hiy± apagamane parih²nak±le ta½ n±n±kiccesu patthita½ posa½ ekacce b±l± ima½ oµµhiby±dhi½ aya½ khattiyo viya jahanti.
Katakaly±ºoti parena attano katakaly±ºakammo. Katatthoti nipph±ditakicco. N±vabujjhat²ti pacch±pi ta½ parena kata½ upak±ra½ tassa jar±jiººak±le asamatthak±le na sarati, attan± dinnampi yasa½ puna gaºh±ti. Palujjant²ti bhijjanti nassanti. Ye honti abhipatthit±ti ye keci atth± icchit± n±ma honti, sabbe nassant²ti d²peti. Mittadubbhipuggalassa hi patthitapatthita½ aggimhi pakkhittab²ja½ viya nassati. Katattho manubujjhat²ti katattho anubujjhati, ma-k±ro byañjanasandhivasena gahito. Ta½ vo vad±m²ti tena k±raºena tumhe vad±mi. Ýhassath±ti kataññuno hutv± cirak±la½ saggamhi dibbasampatti½ anubhavant± patiµµhahissatha.
Eva½ mah±satto r±j±na½ ±di½ katv± sannipatit±na½ sabbesa½ ov±da½ ad±si. Ta½ sutv± r±j± oµµhiby±dhiy± yasa½ paµip±katika½ ak±si. Bodhisattassa ca ov±de µhatv± d±n±d²ni puññ±ni katv± saggapar±yaºo ahosi.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± oµµhiby±dhi bhaddavatik± ahosi, r±j± ±nando, amacco pana ahameva ahosin”ti.
