Manuss± tesa½ iriy±pathe pas²ditv± bhikkha½ datv± paµiñña½ gahetv± araññe rattidivaµµh±n±d²ni m±petv± vas±pesu½. Antar±maggepi nesa½ bhattakiccakaraºatth±ya udakaph±sukaµµh±ne paººas±la½ k±resu½. Te paccantag±me bhikkha½ caritv± t±ya paººas±l±ya nis²ditv± paribhuñjitv± attano vasanaµµh±na½ gacchanti. Tepi manuss± tesa½ ±h±ra½ dadam±n± ekad± loºa½ patte pakkhipitv± denti, ekad± paººapuµe bandhitv± denti, ekad± aloºak±h±rameva denti. Te ekadivasa½ paººapuµe bahutara½ loºa½ ada½su. Videhat±paso loºa½ ±d±ya gantv± bodhisattassa bhattakiccak±le pahonaka½ datv± attanopi pam±ºayutta½ gahetv± atireka½ paººapuµe bandhitv± “aloºakadivase bhavissat²”ti tiºavaµµika-antare µhapesi. Athekadivasa½ aloºake ±h±re laddhe videho gandh±rassa bhikkh±bh±jana½ datv± tiºavaµµika-antarato loºa½ ±haritv± “±cariya, loºa½ gaºhath±”ti ±ha. “Ajja manussehi loºa½ na dinna½, tva½ kuto labhas²”ti? “¾cariya, purimadivase manuss± bahu½ loºamada½su, ath±ha½ ‘aloºakadivase bhavissat²’ti atireka½ loºa½ µhapesin”ti. Atha na½ bodhisatto “moghapurisa, tiyojanasatika½ videharaµµha½ pah±ya pabbajitv± akiñcanabh±va½ patv± id±ni loºasakkhar±ya taºha½ janes²”ti tajjetv± ovadanto paµhama½ g±tham±ha–
76. “Hitv± g±masahass±ni, paripuºº±ni so¼asa;
koµµh±g±r±ni ph²t±ni, sannidhi½ d±ni kubbas²”ti.
Tattha koµµh±g±r±n²ti suvaººarajatamaºimutt±diratanakoµµh±g±r±ni ceva dussakoµµh±g±r±ni ca dhaññakoµµh±g±r±ni ca. Ph²t±n²ti p³r±ni. Sannidhi½ d±ni kubbas²ti id±ni “sve bhavissati, tatiyadivase bhavissat²”ti loºamatta½ sannidhi½ karos²ti.

77. “Hitv± gandh±ravisaya½, pah³tadhanadh±riya½;
pas±sanato nikkhanto, idha d±ni pas±sas²”ti.
Tattha pas±sanatoti ov±d±nus±san²d±nato. Idha d±n²ti id±ni idha araññe kasm± ma½ ovadath±ti.
Ta½ sutv± bodhisatto tatiya½ g±tham±ha–
78. “Dhamma½ bhaº±mi vedeha, adhammo me na ruccati;
dhamma½ me bhaºam±nassa, na p±pamupalimpat²”ti.
Tattha dhammanti sabh±va½, buddh±d²hi vaººita½ pasattha½ k±raºameva. Adhammo me na ruccat²ti adhammo n±ma asabh±vo mayha½ kad±cipi na ruccati. Na p±pamupalimpat²ti mama sabh±vameva k±raºameva bhaºantassa p±pa½ n±ma hadaye na limpati na all²yati. Ov±dad±na½ n±meta½ buddhapaccekabuddhas±vakabodhisatt±na½ paveº². Tehi dinnov±da½ b±l± na gaºhanti, ov±dad±yakassa pana p±pa½ n±ma natthi.
“Nidh²na½va pavatt±ra½, ya½ passe vajjadassina½;
niggayhav±di½ medh±vi½, t±disa½ paº¹ita½ bhaje;
t±disa½ bhajam±nassa, seyyo hoti na p±piyo.
“Ovadeyy±nus±seyya, asabbh± ca niv±raye;
satañhi so piyo hoti, asata½ hoti appiyo”ti. (Dha. pa. 76-77).
Videhat±paso bodhisattassa katha½ sutv± “±cariya, atthanissita½ kathentenapi para½ ghaµµetv± rosetv± kathetu½ na vaµµati, tva½ ma½ kuºµhasatthakena muº¹ento viya atipharusa½ kathes²”ti vatv± catuttha½ g±tham±ha–
79. “Yena kenaci vaººena, paro labhati ruppana½;
mahatthiyampi ce v±ca½, na ta½ bh±seyya paº¹ito”ti.
Tattha yena kenac²ti dhammayutten±pi k±raºena. Labhati ruppananti ghaµµana½ dussana½ kuppana½ labhatiyeva. Na ta½ bh±seyy±ti tasm± ta½ parapuggala½ y±ya so v±c±ya dussati, ta½ mahatthiya½ mahanta½ atthanissitampi v±ca½ na bh±seyy±ti attho.
Athassa bodhisatto pañcama½ g±tham±ha–
80. “K±ma½ ruppatu v± m± v±, bhusa½va vikir²yatu;
dhamma½ me bhaºam±nassa, na p±pamupalimpat²”ti.
Tattha k±manti eka½sena. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– ayuttak±rako puggalo “ayutta½ te katan”ti ovadiyam±no eka½seneva kujjhatu v± m± v± kujjhatu, atha v± bhusamuµµhi viya vikir²yatu, mayha½ pana dhamma½ bhaºantassa p±pa½ n±ma natth²ti.
Evañca pana vatv± “na vo aha½, ±nanda, tath± parakkamiss±mi, yath± kumbhak±ro ±make ±makamatte. Niggayha niggayh±ha½ ±nanda, vakkh±mi, yo s±ro so µhassat²”ti (ma. ni. 3.196) imassa sugatov±dassa anur³p±ya paµipattiy± µhatv± “yath± kumbhak±ro bh±janesu punappuna½ ±koµetv± ±koµetv± ±maka½ aggahetv± supakkameva bh±jana½ gaºh±ti, eva½ punappuna½ ovaditv± niggaºhitv± pakkabh±janasadiso puggalo gahetabbo”ti dassetu½ puna ta½ ovadanto–
81. “No ce assa sak± buddhi, vinayo v± susikkhito;
vane andhamahi½sova, careyya bahuko jano.
82. “Yasm± ca panidhekacce, ±ceramhi susikkhit±;
tasm± vin²tavinay±, caranti susam±hit±”ti.– Ida½ g±th±dvayam±ha.
Tassattho samma vedeha, imesañhi satt±na½ sace attano buddhi v± paº¹ite ov±dad±yake niss±ya ±c±rapaººattivinayo v± susikkhito na bhaveyya, eva½ sante yath± tiºalat±digahane vane andhamahi½so gocar±gocara½ s±saªkanir±saªkañca µh±na½ aj±nanto carati, tath± tumh±diso bahuko jano careyya. Yasm± pana idha ekacce sak±ya buddhiy± rahit± satt± ±cariyasantike ±c±rapaººattisusikkhit±, tasm± ±cariyehi attano attano anur³pena vinayena vin²tatt± vin²tavinay± susam±hit± ekaggacitt± hutv± carant²ti.
Imin± ida½ dasseti– imin± hi sattena gihin± hutv± attano kul±nur³p±, pabbajitena pabbajit±nur³p± sikkh± sikkhitabb±. Gihinopi hi attano kul±nur³pesu kasigorakkh±d²su sikkhit±va sampann±j²v± hutv± susam±hit± caranti, pabbajit±pi pabbajit±nur³pesu p±s±dikesu abhikkantapaµikkant±d²su adhis²la-adhicitta-adhipaññ±sikkh±su sikkhit±va vigatavikkhep± susam±hit± caranti. Lokasmiñhi–
“B±husaccañca sippañca, vinayo ca susikkhito;
subh±sit± ca y± v±c±, eta½ maªgalamuttaman”ti. (Khu. p±. 5.5; su. ni. 264).
Ta½ sutv± vedehat±paso “±cariya, ito paµµh±ya ma½ ovadatha anus±satha, aha½ anadhiv±sanaj±tikat±ya tumhehi saddhi½ kathesi½, ta½ me khamath±”ti vanditv± mah±satta½ kham±pesi. Te samaggav±sa½ vasitv± puna himavantameva agama½su. Tatra bodhisatto vedehat±pasassa kasiºaparikamma½ kathesi. So ta½ katv± abhiññ± ca sam±pattiyo ca nibbattesi. Iti te ubhopi aparih²najjh±n± brahmalokapar±yaº± ahesu½.
Satth± ima½ dhammadesana½ ±haritv± j±taka½ samodh±nesi– “tad± vedeho ±nando ahosi, gandh±rar±j± pana ahameva ahos²n”ti.
