Sopi purimabuddhesu kat±dhik±ro tattha tattha bhave vivaµµ³panissaya½ puñña½ ±cinanto ito ekanavute kappe kulagehe nibbattitv± viññuta½ patto vipassi½ bhagavanta½ antarav²thiya½ gacchanta½ disv± pasannam±naso gandhodakena gandhacuººena ca p³ja½ ak±si. So tena puññakammena devaloke nibbatto apar±para½ sugat²suyeva sa½saranto kassapassa bhagavato s±sane pabbajitv± samaºadhamma½ ak±si, ñ±ºassa pana aparipakkatt± visesa½ nibbattetu½ n±sakkhi. Atha imasmi½ buddhupp±de s±vatthiya½ seµµhiputto hutv± nibbatti, ±tumotissa n±ma½ ahosi. Tassa vayappattassa m±t± “puttassa me bhariya½ ±ness±m±”ti ñ±takehi sammantesi. So ta½ upadh±retv± hetusampattiy± codiyam±no “ki½ mayha½ ghar±v±sena, id±neva pabbajiss±m²”ti bhikkh³na½ santika½ gantv± pabbaji. Pabbajitampi na½ m±t± uppabb±jetuk±m± n±n±nayehi palobheti. So tass± avasara½ adatv± attano ajjh±saya½ pak±sento–

eva½ aha½ bhariy±y±n²t±ya, anumañña ma½ pabbajitomhi d±n²”ti.–

Tattha ka¼²roti aªkuro, idha pana va½saªkuro adhippeto. Sus³ti taruºo. Va¹¹hitaggoti pava¹¹hitas±kho. Susuva¹¹hitaggoti v± suµµhu va¹¹hitas±kho sañj±tapattas±kho. Dunnikkhamoti ve¼ugumbato nikkh±metu½ n²haritu½ asakkuºeyyo. Pas±khaj±toti j±tapas±kho, s±kh±nampi pabbe pabbe uppanna-anus±kho. Eva½ aha½ bhariy±y±n²t±y±ti yath± va½so va¹¹hitaggo va½santaresu sa½saµµha s±kh±pas±kho ve¼ugumbato dunn²haraº²yo hoti, eva½ ahampi bhariy±ya mayha½ ±n²t±ya puttadh²t±divasena va¹¹hitaggo ±sattivasena ghar±v±sato dunn²haraº²yo bhaveyya½. Yath± pana va½saka¼²ro asañj±tas±khabandho ve¼ugumbato sun²haraº²yova hoti, eva½ ahampi asañj±taputtad±r±dibandho sun²haraº²yo homi, tasm± an±n²t±ya eva bhariy±ya anumañña ma½ attan±va ma½ anuj±n±petv±. Pabbajitomhi d±n²ti, “id±ni pana pabbajito amhi, s±dhu suµµh³”ti attano nekkhamm±bhirati½ pak±sesi, atha v± “anumañña ma½ pabbajitomhi d±n²”ti m±tu katheti. Ayañhettha attho– yadipi t±ya pubbe n±numata½, id±ni pana pabbajito amhi, tasm± anumañña anuj±n±hi ma½ samaºabh±veyeva µh±tu½, n±ha½ tay± nivattan²yoti Eva½ pana kathento yath±µhitova vipassana½ va¹¹hetv± maggapaµip±µiy± kilese khepetv± cha¼abhiñño ahosi. Tena vutta½ apad±ne (apa. thera 1.13.35-40)–

kakudha½ vilasanta½va, sabbaññu½ taman±saka½.
“P±s±dass±vid³re ca, gacchati lokan±yako;

“Gandhodakañca paggayha, buddhaseµµha½ samokiri½;
tena cittappas±dena, tattha k±laªkato aha½.
“Ekanavutito kappe, ya½ gandhodakam±kiri½;
duggati½ n±bhij±n±mi, buddhap³j±yida½ phala½.
“Ekati½se ito kappe, sugandho n±ma khattiyo;
sattaratanasampanno, cakkavatt² mahabbalo.
“Kiles± jh±pit± mayha½…pe… kata½ buddhassa s±sanan”ti;
cha¼abhiñño pana hutv± m±tara½ ±pucchitv± tass± pekkhantiy±yeva ±k±sena pakk±mi; so arahattappattiy± uttarik±lampi antarantar± tameva g±tha½ paccud±h±si;
tattha “pabbajitomh²”ti imin±padesena ayampi therassa aññ±by±karaºag±th± ahosi attano sant±ne r±g±dimalassa pabb±jitabh±vad²panato; ten±ha bhagav±– “pabb±jayamattano mala½, tasm± ‘pabbajito’ti vuccat²”ti (dha. pa. 388);
