Ayampi purimabuddhesu kat±dhik±ro tattha tattha bhave vivaµµ³panissaya½ puñña½ upacinanto atthadassissa bhagavato k±le yakkhasen±pati hutv± nibbatto satthari parinibbute, “al±bh± vata me, dulladdha½ vata me, yoha½ satthudharam±nak±le d±n±dipuñña½ k±tu½ n±latthan”ti paridevasokam±panno ahosi. Atha na½ s±garo n±ma satthu s±vako soka½ vinodetv± satthu th³pap³j±ya½ niyojesi. So pañca vass±ni th³pa½ p³jetv± tato cuto tena puññena devamanussesu eva sa½saranto kassapassa bhagavato k±le kulagehe nibbattitv± viññuta½ patto k±lena k±la½ satthu santika½ upasaªkami. Tasmiñca samaye satth± “adhicetaso”ti g±th±ya s±vake abhiºha½ ovadi. So ta½ sutv± saddh±j±to pabbaji. Pabbajitv± ca pana tameva g±tha½ punappuna½ parivatteti. So tattha v²sativassasahass±ni samaºadhamma½ karonto ñ±ºassa aparipakkatt± visesa½ nibbattetu n±sakkhi. Tato pana cuto devaloke nibbattitv± apar±para½ sugat²suyeva sa½saranto imasmi½ buddhupp±de s±vatthiya½ vibhavasampannassa br±hmaºassa putto hutv± nibbatto viññuta½ patv± jetavanapaµiggahaºasamaye buddh±nubh±va½ disv± paµiladdhasaddho pabbajitv± katapubbakicco araññe viharanto satthu santika½ agam±si. Tasmiñca samaye satth± ±yasmanta½ s±riputta½ attano avid³re adhicittamanuyutta½ disv± “adhicetaso”ti ima½ ud±na½ ud±nesi. Ta½ sutv± aya½ cirak±la½ bh±van±ya araññe viharantopi k±lena k±la½ tameva g±tha½ ud±neti, tenassa ekud±niyoti samaññ± udap±di. So athekadivasa½ cittekaggata½ labhitv± vipassana½ va¹¹hetv± arahatta½ p±puºi. Tena vutta½ apad±ne (apa. thera 1.12.72-81)–
“Atthadassimhi sugate, nibbute samanantar±;
yakkhayoni½ upapajji½, yasa½ patto caha½ tad±.

“Mama saªkappamaññ±ya, s±garo n±ma s±vako;

arahatta½ pana patv± vimuttisukhena viharanto ekadivasa½ ±yasmat± dhammabhaº¹±g±rikena paµibh±na½ v²ma½situ½, “±vuso, mayha½ dhamma½ bhaº±h²”ti ajjhiµµho cirak±laparicitatt±–

Tattha adhicetasoti adhicittavato, sabbacitt±na½ adhikena arahattaphalacittena samann±gatass±ti attho. Appamajjatoti nappamajjato, appam±dena anavajjadhammesu s±taccakiriy±ya samann±gatass±ti vutta½ hoti. Muninoti “yo mun±ti ubho loke, muni tena pavuccat²”ti (dha. pa. 269; mah±ni. 149; c³¼ani. mettag³m±ºavapucch±niddesa 21) eva½ ubhayalokamunanena v±, mona½ vuccati ñ±ºa½, tena arahattaphalapaññ±saªkh±tena monena samann±gatat±ya v± kh²º±savo muni n±ma, tassa munino. Monapathesu sikkhatoti arahattañ±ºasaªkh±tassa monassa pathesu up±yamaggesu sattati½sabodhipakkhiyadhammesu, t²su v± sikkh±su sikkhato. Idañca pubbabh±gapaµipada½ gahetv± vutta½. Pariniµµhitasikkho hi arah±, tasm± eva½ sikkhato, im±ya sikkh±ya munibh±va½ pattassa muninoti evamettha attho daµµhabbo. Yasm± cetadeva½ tasm± heµµhimamaggaphalacitt±na½ vasena adhicetaso, catusaccasambodhipaµipattiya½ appam±davasena appamajjato, aggamaggañ±ºasamann±gamena muninoti evametesa½ pad±na½ attho yujjatiyeva. Atha v± “appamajjato sikkhato” padh±nahet³ akkh±t±ti daµµhabb±. Tasm± appamajjanahetu sikkhanahetu ca adhicetasoti attho.
Sok± na bhavanti t±dinoti t±disassa kh²º±savamunino abbhantare iµµhaviyog±divatthuk± sok± cittasant±p± na honti. Atha v± t±dilakkhaºappattassa asekkhamunino sok± na bhavant²ti. Upasantass±ti r±g±d²na½ accant³pasamena upasantassa. Sad± sat²matoti sativepullappattiy± niccak±la½ satiy± avirahitassa.
Ettha ca “adhicetaso”ti imin± adhicittasikkh±, “appamajjato”ti imin± adhis²lasikkh±, “munino monapathesu sikkhato”ti etehi adhipaññ±sikkh±. “Munino”ti v± etena adhipaññ±sikkh±, “monapathesu sikkhato”ti etena t±sa½ lokuttarasikkh±na½ pubbabh±gapaµipad±, “sok± na bhavant²”ti-±d²hi sikkh±p±rip³riy± ±nisa½s± pak±sit±ti veditabba½ ayameva ca therassa aññ±by±karaºag±th± ahosi.
