Sopi purimabuddhesu kat±dhik±ro tattha tattha bhave vivaµµ³panissaya½ puñña½ upacinanto ito catunavute kappe siddhatthassa bhagavato hatthap±dadhovanamukhavikkh±lan±na½ atth±ya udaka½ upanesi. Satth± hi bhojanak±le hatthap±de dhovituk±mo ahosi. So satthu ±k±ra½ sallakkhetv± udaka½ upanesi. Bhagav± hatthap±de dhovitv± bhuñjitv± mukha½ vikkh±letuk±mo ahosi. So tampi ñatv± mukhodaka½ upanesi. Satth± mukha½ vikkh±letv± mukhadhovanakicca½ niµµh±pesi. Eva½ bhagav± anukampa½ up±d±ya tena kar²yam±na½ veyy±vacca½ s±diyi. So tena puññakammena devaloke nibbattitv± apar±para½ puññ±ni katv± devamanussesu sa½saranto imasmi½ buddhupp±de s±vatthiya½ aññatarassa up±sakassa gehe paµisandhi½ gaºhi. Tasmi½ gabbhagateyeva pit± pav±sa½ gato, up±sik± dasam±saccayena putta½ vij±yitv± s±n³tissa n±ma½ ak±si. Tasmi½ anukkamena va¹¹hante sattavassika½yeva na½ bhikkh³na½ santike pabb±jesi, “evamaya½ anantar±yo va¹¹hitv± accantasukhabh±g² bhavissat²”ti. “So s±nus±maºero”ti paññ±to paññav± vattasampanno bahussuto dhammakathiko sattesu mettajjh±sayo hutv± devamanuss±na½ piyo ahosi man±poti sabba½ s±nusutte ±gatanayena veditabba½.
Tassa at²taj±tiya½ m±t± yakkhayoniya½ nibbatti. Ta½ yakkh± “s±nuttherassa aya½ m±t±”ti garucittik±rabahul± hutv± m±nenti. Eva½ gacchante k±le puthujjanabh±vassa ±d²nava½ vibh±venta½ viya ekadivasa½ s±nussa yoniso manasik±r±bh±v± ayoniso ummujjantassa vibbhamituk±mat±citta½ uppajji. Ta½ tassa yakkhinim±t± ñatv± manussam±tuy± ±rocesi– “tava putto, s±nu, ‘vibbhamiss±m²’ti citta½ upp±desi, tasm± tva½–
“S±nu½ pabuddha½ vajj±si, yakkh±na½ vacana½ ida½;
m±k±si p±paka½ kamma½, ±vi v± yadi v± raho.
“Sace tva½ p±paka½ kamma½, karissasi karosi v±;
na te dukkh± pamutyatthi, uppacc±pi pal±yato”ti. (Sa½. ni. 1.239; dha. pa. aµµha. 2.325 s±nus±maºeravatthu)–

Eva½ bhaº±h²”ti. Evañca pana vatv± yakkhinim±t± tatthevantaradh±yi. Manussam±t± pana ta½ sutv± paridevasokasam±pann± cetodukkhasamappit± ahosi. Atha s±nus±maºero pubbaºhasamaya½ niv±setv± pattac²varam±d±ya m±tu santika½ upagato m±tara½ rodam±na½ disv± “amma, ki½ niss±ya rodas²”ti vatv± “ta½ niss±y±”ti ca vutto m±tu “mata½ v±, amma, rodanti, yo v± j²va½ na dissat²”ti g±tha½ abh±si.

44. Tassattho– “amma, rodant± n±ma ñ±tak± mitt± v± attano ñ±taka½ mitta½ v± mata½ uddissa rodanti paraloka½ gatatt±, yo v± ñ±tako mitto v± j²va½ j²vanto desantara½ pakkantat±ya ca na dissati, ta½ v± uddissa rodanti, ubhayampeta½ mayi na vijjati, eva½ sante j²vanta½ dharam±na½ ma½ purato µhita½ passant²; kasm±, amma, rodasi?Ma½ uddissa tava rodanassa k±raºameva natth²”ti.
Ta½ sutv± tassa m±t± “maraºañheta½, bhikkhave, yo sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattat²”ti (ma. ni. 3.63) suttapad±nus±rena uppabbajana½ ariyassa vinaye maraºanti dassent²–
“Mata½ v± putta rodanti, yo v± j²va½ na dissati;
yo ca k±me cajitv±na, punar±gacchate idha.
“Ta½ v±pi putta rodanti, puna j²va½ mato hi so;
kukku¼± ubbhato t±ta, kukku¼a½ patitumicchas²”ti. (Sa½. ni. 1.239; dha. pa. aµµha. 2.s±nus±maºeravatthu)–

G±th±dvaya½ abh±si.

Tattha k±me cajitv±n±ti nekkhammajjh±sayena vatthuk±me pah±ya, tañca kilesak±massa tadaªgappah±navasena veditabba½. Pabbajj± hettha k±maparicc±go adhippeto. Punar±gacchate idh±ti idha gehe punadeva ±gacchati, h²n±y±vattana½ sandh±ya vadati. Ta½ v±p²ti yo pabbajitv± vibbhamati ta½ v±pi puggala½ mata½ viyam±disiyo rodanti. Kasm±ti ce? Puna j²va½ mato hi soti vibbhamanato pacch± yo j²vanto, so guºamaraºena atthato matoyeva. Id±nissa savisesasa½vega½ janetu½ “kukku¼±”ti-±di vutta½. Tassattho– “ahoratta½ ±ditta½ viya hutv± ¹ahanaµµhena kukku¼anirayasadisatt± kukku¼± gihibh±v± anukampantiy± may± ubbhato uddhato, t±ta s±nu, kukku¼a½ patitu½ icchasi patituk±mos²”ti.
Ta½ sutv± s±nus±maºero sa½vegaj±to hutv± vipassana½ paµµhapetv± nacirasseva arahatta½ p±puºi. Tena vutta½ apad±ne (apa. thera 1.21.25-29)–
“Bhuñjanta½ samaºa½ disv±, vippasannaman±vila½;
ghaµenodakam±d±ya, siddhatthassa ad±saha½.
“Nimmalo homaha½ ajja, vimalo kh²ºasa½sayo;
bhave nibbattam±nassa, phala½ nibbattate subha½.
“Catunnavutito kappe, udaka½ yamad±saha½;
duggati½ n±bhij±n±mi, dakad±nassida½ phala½.
“Ekasaµµhimhito kappe, ekova vimalo ahu;
sattaratanasampanno, cakkavatt² mahabbalo.
“Kiles± jh±pit± mayha½…pe… kata½ buddhassa s±sanan”ti;
arahatta½ pana patv± thero imiss± g±th±ya vasena “mayha½ vipassan±rambho arahattappatti ca j±t±”ti ud±navasena tameva g±tha½ paccud±h±si;
