Ayampi purimabuddhesu kat±dhik±ro tattha tattha bhave puññ±ni upacinanto vessabhussa bhagavato k±le kulagehe nibbattitv± viññuta½ patto t±disena kaly±ºamittasannissayena s±sane abhippasanno ahosi. So satthari parinibbute tassa dh±tu½ gahetu½ mah±jane uss±ha½ karonte saya½ sabbapaµhama½ gandhodakena citaka½ nibb±pesi. So tena puññakammena devamanussesu sa½saranto imasmi½ buddhupp±de veµhapuranagare r±jakule nibbattitv± abhibh³toti laddhan±mo pitu accayena rajja½ k±reti. Tasmiñca samaye bhagav± janapadac±rika½ caranto anupubbena ta½ nagara½ p±puºi. Tato so r±j± “bhagav± kira mama nagara½ anuppatto”ti sutv± satthu santika½ gantv± dhamma½ sutv± dutiyadivase mah±d±na½ pavattesi. Bhagav± bhutt±v² tassa rañño ajjh±say±nur³pa½ anumodana½ karontoyeva vitth±rato dhamma½ desesi. So dhamma½ sutv± laddhappas±do rajja½ pah±ya pabbajitv± arahatta½ sacch±k±si. Tena vutta½ apad±ne (apa. thera 2.47.11-15)–
“Dayham±ne sar²ramhi, vessabhussa mahesino;
gandhodaka½ gahetv±na, cita½ nibb±payi½ aha½.
“Ekati½se ito kappe, cita½ nibb±payi½ aha½;
duggati½ n±bhij±n±mi, gandhodakassida½ phala½.
“Kiles± jh±pit± mayha½…pe… kata½ buddhassa s±sanan”ti;
arahatta½ pana patv± vimuttisukhena viharante tasmi½ tassa ñ±tak± amacc± p±risajj± n±gar± j±napad±ti sabbe sam±gantv±, “bhante, kasm± tva½ amhe an±the katv± pabbajito”ti paridevi½su; thero te ñ±tipamukhe manusse paridevante disv± tesa½ attano pabbajjak±raºavibh±vanamukhena dhamma½ kathento–
255. “suº±tha ñ±tayo sabbe, y±vantettha sam±gat±;
dhamma½ vo desayiss±mi, dukkh± j±ti punappuna½.
256. “¾rambhatha nikkamatha, yuñjatha buddhas±sane;
dhun±tha maccuno sena½, na¼±g±ra½va kuñjaro.
257. “Yo imasmi½ dhammavinaye, appamatto vihassati;
pah±ya j±tisa½s±ra½, dukkhassanta½ karissat²”ti.– Tisso g±th± abh±si.
Tattha suº±th±ti nis±metha, id±ni may± vuccam±na½ ohitasot± sotadv±r±nus±rena upadh±reth±ti attho. ѱtayoti ñ±t² pamukhe katv± tesa½ sabbesa½ ±lapana½, ten±ha “sabbe y±vantettha sam±gat±”ti, y±vanto yattak± ettha sam±game, etissa½ v± mama pabbajj±ya sam±gat±ti attho.
Id±ni ya½ sandh±ya “suº±th±”ti savan±ºattikavacana½ kata½, ta½ “dhamma½ vo desayiss±m²”ti paµij±nitv± “dukkh± j±ti punappunan”ti-±din± desetu½ ±rabhi. Tattha dukkh± j±ti punappunanti j±ti n±mes± gabbhokkantim³lak±dibhedassa jar±dibhedassa ca anekavihitassa dukkhassa adhiµµh±nabh±vato dukkh±. S± punappuna½ pavattam±n± ativiya dukkh±.
Tass± pana j±tiy± samatikkamanattha½ uss±ho karaº²yoti dassento ±ha “±rambhath±”ti-±di. Tattha ±rambhath±ti ±rambhadh±tusaªkh±ta½ v²riya½ karotha. Nikkamath±ti kosajjapakkhato nikkhantatt± nikkamadh±tusaªkh±ta½ taduttari½ v²riya½ karotha. Yuñjatha buddhas±saneti yasm± s²lasa½varo indriyesu guttadv±rat± bhojane mattaññut± satisampajaññanti imesu dhammesu patiµµhit±na½ j±gariy±nuyogavasena ±rambhanikkamadh±tuyo sampajjanti, tasm± tath±bh³t± samathavipassan±saªkh±te adhis²lasikkh±disaªkh±te v± bhagavato s±sane yuttappayutt± hotha. Dhun±tha maccuno sena½, na¼±g±ra½va kuñjaroti eva½ paµipajjant± ca tedh±tu-issarassa maccur±jassa vasa½ satte net²ti tassa sen±saªkh±ta½ abala½ dubbala½ yath± n±ma th±mabal³papanno kuñjaro na¼ehi kata½ ag±ra½ khaºeneva viddha½seti, evameva kilesagaºa½ dhun±tha vidhamatha viddha½seth±ti attho.
Eva½ pana buddhas±sane uss±ha½ karontassa eka½siko j±tidukkhassa samatikkamoti dassento “yo imasmin”ti-±din± tatiya½ g±tham±ha. Ta½ suviññeyyameva.
