Ayampi purimabuddhesu kat±dhik±ro tattha tattha bhave puññ±ni upacinanto tissassa bhagavato k±le kulagehe nibbattitv± viññuta½ patto ekadivasa½ satthari araññe viharante pa½suk³lac²vara½ dumas±kh±ya laggetv± gandhakuµi½ paviµµhe dhanuhattho gahana½ paviµµho satthu pa½suk³la½ disv± pasannam±naso dhanu½ nikkhipitv± buddhaguºe anussaritv± pa½suk³la½ vandi. So tena puññakammena devamanussesu sa½saranto imasmi½ buddhupp±de s±vatthiya½ kuµumbiyakule nibbatti. Tassa kira j±tadivase tasmi½ gehe sabbabh±jan±ni suvaººaratanamayehi m±sehi paripuºº±neva ahesu½. Tenassa puººam±sotveva n±ma½ aka½su. So vayappatto d±rapariggaha½ katv± ekasmi½ putte uppanne ghar±v±sa½ pah±ya pabbajitv± g±mak±v±se vasanto ghaµento v±yamanto cha¼abhiñño ahosi. pa½suk³la½ µhapetv±na, vih±ra½ p±vis² jino.
“Vinata½ dhanum±d±ya, bhakkhatth±ya cari½ aha½;
maº¹alagga½ gahetv±na, k±nana½ p±visi½ aha½.
“Tatthaddasa½ pa½suk³la½, dumagge laggita½ tad±;
c±pa½ tattheva nikkhippa, sire katv±na añjali½.
“Pasannacitto sumano, vipul±ya ca p²tiy±;
buddhaseµµha½ saritv±na, pa½suk³la½ avandaha½.
“Dvenavute ito kappe, pa½suk³lamavandaha½;
duggati½ n±bhij±n±mi, vandan±ya ida½ phala½.
“Kiles± jh±pit± mayha½…pe… kata½ buddhassa s±sanan”ti;
cha¼abhiñño pana hutv± s±vatthi½ upagantv± satth±ra½ vanditv± sus±ne vasati, tassa ca acir±gatasseva sato putto k±lamak±si; d±rakam±t± therassa ±gatabh±va½ sutv±, “m± ida½ aputtaka½ s±pateyya½ r±j±no hareyyun”ti ta½ uppabb±jetuk±m± mahat± pariv±rena therassa santika½ gantv± paµisanth±ra½ katv± palobhetu½ ±rabhi; thero attano v²tar±gabh±vaj±n±panattha½ ±k±se µhatv± attano paµipattikittanamukhena tass± dhamma½ desento–

Tattha pañca n²varaºe hitv±ti k±macchand±dike pañca n²varaºe pah±ya jh±n±dhigamena viddha½setv±. Yogakkhemassa pattiy±ti k±mayog±d²hi cat³hi yogehi khemassa anupaddutassa nibb±nassa adhigam±ya. Dhamm±d±santi dhammabh³ta½ ±d±sa½. Yath± hi ±d±so olokentassa r³pak±ye guº±guºa½ ±da½seti, eva½ vipassan±saªkh±to dhamm±na½ s±maññavises±vabodhanato ñ±ºadassanabh³to dhamm±d±so vipassantassa vod±nasa½kilesadhammavibh±vanena tappah±nas±dhanena ca visesato n±mak±ye guºa½ ±da½seti. Ten±ha–
“Dhamm±d±sa½ gahetv±na, ñ±ºadassanamattano;
paccavekkhi½ ima½ k±ya½, sabba½ santarab±hiran”ti.–
Ima½ k±ya½ dhammasam³ha½ mama attabh±va½ ajjhattikab±hir±yatanabh±vato santarab±hira½ sabba½ anavasesa½ dhamm±d±sa½ gahetv± “aniccan”tipi “dukkhan”tipi “anatt±”tipi pati-avekkhi½ ñ±ºacakkhun± passi½. Eva½ passat± ca may± ajjhattañca bahiddh± c±ti attano sant±ne parasant±ne ca tuccho k±yo adissatha niccas±r±divirahito tuccho khandhapañcakasaªkh±to attabh±vak±yo ñ±ºacakkhun± y±th±vato apassittha. Sakalampi hi khandhapañcaka½ “avijj±nivutassa, bhikkhave, b±lassa taºh±sa½yuttassa evamaya½ k±yo samud±gato”ti-±d²su (sa½. ni. 2.19) “k±yo”ti vuccati. “Adissath±”ti ca imin± yadeva k±ye daµµhabba½, ta½ diµµha½, na d±nissa kiñci may± passitabba½ atth²ti katakiccata½ dassento añña½ by±k±si. Eva½ thero im±hi g±th±hi pur±ºadutiyik±ya dhamma½ desetv± ta½ saraºesu ca s²lesu ca sampatiµµh±petv± uyyojesi.
