Ayampi purimabuddhesu kat±dhik±ro tattha tattha bhave vivaµµ³panissaya½ puñña½ upacinanto vipassissa bhagavato k±le kulagehe nibbattitv± viññuta½ patto ekadivasa½ bhagavanta½ disv± pasannam±naso ±modaphalamad±si. Tena puññakammena devaloke nibbattitv± apar±para½ puññ±ni katv± sugat²suyeva sa½saranto imasmi½ buddhupp±de r±jagahe br±hmaºakule nibbattitv± gotamoti laddhan±mo sattavassikak±le upanayana½ katv± ratanabhikkha½ caritv± sahassa½ labhitv± ta½ t±dise µh±ne µhapetv± vata½ caranto so¼asasattarasavassuddesikak±le akaly±ºamittehi k±mesu parin²yam±no ekiss± r³p³paj²viniy± ta½ sahassabhaº¹ika½ datv± brahmacariyavin±sa½ patv± t±ya cassa brahmac±rir³pa½ disv± viratt±k±re dassite ekarattiv±seneva nibbinnar³po attano brahmacariyaniv±sa½ dhanaj±niñca saritv± “ayutta½ may± katan”ti vippaµis±r² ahosi. Satth± tassa hetusampatti½ citt±c±rañca ñatv± tassa ±sannaµµh±ne att±na½ dassesi. So satth±ra½ disv± pasannam±naso upasaªkami, tassa bhagav± dhamma½ desesi. So dhamma½ sutv± paµiladdhasaddho pabbajanto khuraggeyeva arahatta½ p±puºi. Tena vutta½ apad±ne (apa. thera 2.51.80-84)–
“Suvaººavaººa½ sambuddha½, ±hut²na½ paµiggaha½;
rathiya½ paµipajjanta½, ±modamadadi½ phala½.
“Ekanavutito kappe, ya½ phala½ adadi½ tad±;
duggati½ n±bhij±n±mi, phalad±nassida½ phala½.
“Kiles± jh±pit± mayha½…pe… kata½ buddhassa s±sanan”ti;
arahatta½ pana patv± jh±nasukhena phalasukhena v²tin±menta½ eko gihisah±yo upagantv±, “±vuso, tay± ratanabhikkh±ya laddha½ pabbajanto ki½ ak±s²”ti pucchi; ta½ sutv± thero “ida½ n±ma katan”ti an±cikkhitv± m±tug±me dosa½ pak±setv± attano v²tar±gabh±vena añña½ by±karonto “sukha½ supant²”ti-±din± g±th±dvayam±ha;
137. tattha sukha½ supanti munayo, ye itth²su na bajjhareti ye itth²su visayabh³t±su nimittabh³t±su v± r±gabandhanena na bajjhanti, te munayo tapassino sa½yatindriy± sukha½ supanti sukha½ viharanti, natthi tesa½ dukkhanti adhipp±yo; “supant²”ti hi nidassanamattameta½; sad± ve rakkhitabb±s³ti eka½sena sabbak±la½ rakkhitabb±su; itthiyo hi sattabh³mike nippurise p±s±de uparibh³miya½ vas±petv±pi, kucchiya½ pakkhipitv±pi na sakk± rakkhitu½, tasm± t± kiµµh±dig±viyo viya sabbak±la½ rakkhaº²y± honti; bahucittat±ya v± s±mikena vatth±laªk±r±nuppad±n±din± cittaññathattato sabbak±la½ rakkhitabb±; sar²rasabh±va½ v± m±l±gandh±d²hi paµicch±danavasena rakkhitabbacittat±ya rakkhitabb±ti; y±su sacca½ sudullabhanti y±su saccavacana½ laddhu½ na sakk±, itthiyo hi aggimpi pavisanti, visampi kh±danti, satthampi ±haranti, ubbandhitv±pi k±la½ karonti, na pana sacce µh±tu½ sakkonti; tasm± evar³p± itthiyo vajjetv± µhit± munayo sukhit± vat±ti dasseti;
