N±h±ro hadayassa santikoti ±h±ro ca ±hariyam±no maggaphalañ±ºa½ viya hadayassa cittassa santikaro na hoti, kevala½ pana sajjuka½ khud±paµigh±tamatta½ karot²ti adhipp±yo. Atha v± n±h±ro hadayassa santikoti ±h±ro rasataºh±vatthu me hadayassa santiko ±satto na hoti rasataºh±ya eva abh±vato. “Santike”tipi paµhanti. Yo hi ±h±ragiddho l±bhasakk±rappasuto vicarati, tassa ±h±ro hadayassa santike n±ma abhiºha½ manasik±tabbato. Yo pana pariññ±t±h±ro, so tattha pah²nacchandar±go, na tass±h±ro hadayassa santike n±ma– “katha½ nu kho labheyyan”ti-±dimanasikaraºasseva abh±vato. Yadi hi j²vitanikanti ±h±rarasataºh± ca natthi, atha kasm± piº¹±ya caras²ti anuyoga½ manasi katv± ±ha “±h±raµµhitiko samussayo, iti disv±na car±mi esanan”ti. ¾h±ro bhojana½ µhiti µh±na½ paccayo etass±ti ±h±raµµhitiko. “¾h±rapaµibaddhavuttiko samussayo k±yo”iti disv±na eva½ ñatv± imamattha½ buddhiya½ µhapetv± car±mi esana½, bhikkh±pariyesana½ karom²ti attho.
Paccayanimitta½ kul±ni upasaªkamanto tattha vandanap³jan±hi l±bhasakk±rehi ca bajjhat²ti eva½ m±disesu na cintetabbanti dassento “paªko”tig±tha½ abh±si. Tassattho– y± aya½ paccayanimitta½ upagat±na½ pabbajit±na½ kulesu gehav±s²su pavattissati guºasambh±van± p³jan± ca, yasm± ta½ abh±vitatt±na½ os²d±panaµµhena mal²nabh±vakaraºena ca paªko kaddamoti buddh±dayo avedayu½ abbhaññ±su½ pavedesu½ v±, tasm± s± sappuris±na½ bandh±ya na hoti sakk±r±s±ya pageva pah²natt±. Asappurisassa pana sakk±r±s± duviññeyyasabh±vat±ya p²¼±jananato anto tudanato uddharitu½ asakkuºeyyato ca sukhuma½ salla½ durubbaha½.
