22. Eva½ me suta½– eka½ samaya½ bhagav± s±vatthiya½ viharati jetavane an±thapiº¹ikassa ±r±me. Tena kho pana samayena ±yasm± nando bhagavato bh±t± m±tucch±putto sambahul±na½ bhikkh³na½ evam±roceti– “anabhirato aha½, ±vuso, brahmacariya½ car±mi; na sakkomi brahmacariya½ sandh±retu½, sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattiss±m²”ti.
Atha kho aññataro bhikkhu yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho so bhikkhu bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “±yasm±, bhante, nando bhagavato bh±t± m±tucch±putto sambahul±na½ bhikkh³na½ evam±roceti– ‘anabhirato aha½, ±vuso, brahmacariya½ car±mi, na sakkomi brahmacariya½ sandh±retu½, sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattiss±m²”’ti.
Atha kho bhagav± aññatara½ bhikkhu½ ±mantesi– “ehi tva½, bhikkhu, mama vacanena nanda½ bhikkhu½ ±mantehi– ‘satth± ta½, ±vuso nanda, ±mantet²”’ti. “Eva½, bhante”ti kho so bhikkhu bhagavato paµissutv± yen±yasm± nando tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± ±yasmanta½ nanda½ etadavoca– “satth± ta½, ±vuso nanda, ±mantet²”ti.
“Evam±vuso”ti kho ±yasm± nando tassa bhikkhuno paµissutv± yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinna½ kho ±yasmanta½ nanda½ bhagav± etadavoca–
“Sacca½ kira tva½, nanda, sambahul±na½ bhikkh³na½ evam±rocesi– ‘anabhirato aha½, ±vuso, brahmacariya½ car±mi, na sakkomi brahmacariya½ sandh±retu½, sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattiss±m²”’ti “Eva½, bhante”ti.
“Kissa pana tva½, nanda, anabhirato brahmacariya½ carasi, na sakkosi brahmacariya½ sandh±retu½ sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattissas²”ti? “S±kiy±n² ma½ [mama (sy±., aµµhakath± oloketabb±)], bhante, janapadakaly±º² ghar± nikkhamantassa [nikkhamanta½ (aµµhakath±ya½ p±µhantara½)] upa¹¹hullikhitehi kesehi apaloketv± ma½ etadavoca– ‘tuvaµa½ kho, ayyaputta, ±gaccheyy±s²’ti. So kho aha½, bhante, tamanussaram±no anabhirato brahmacariya½ car±mi, na sakkomi brahmacariya½ sandh±retu½, sikkha½ paccakkh±ya h²n±y±vattiss±m²”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ nanda½ b±h±ya½ gahetv±– seyyath±pi n±ma balav± puriso samiñjita½ [sammiñjita½ (s². sy±. ka½. p².)] v± b±ha½ pas±reyya, pas±rita½ v± b±ha½ samiñjeyya [sammiñjeyya (s². sy±. ka½. p².)], evameva– jetavane antarahito devesu t±vati½sesu p±turahosi.
Tena kho pana samayena pañcamatt±ni acchar±sat±ni sakkassa dev±namindassa upaµµh±na½ ±gat±ni honti kakuµap±d±ni. Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ nanda½ ±mantesi– “passasi no tva½, nanda, im±ni pañca acchar±sat±ni kakuµap±d±n²”ti? “Eva½, bhante”ti.
“Ta½ ki½ maññasi, nanda, katam± nu kho abhir³patar± v± dassan²yatar± v± p±s±dikatar± v±, s±kiy±n² v± janapadakaly±º², im±ni v± pañca acchar±sat±ni kakuµap±d±n²”ti? “Seyyath±pi, bhante, paluµµhamakkaµ² kaººan±sacchinn±, evameva kho, bhante, s±kiy±n² janapadakaly±º² imesa½ pañcanna½ acchar±sat±na½ upanidh±ya saªkhyampi [saªkhampi (s².)] nopeti kalabh±gampi nopeti upanidhimpi nopeti. Atha kho im±ni pañca acchar±sat±ni abhir³patar±ni ceva dassan²yatar±ni ca p±s±dikatar±ni c±”ti.
“Abhirama, nanda, abhirama, nanda! Aha½ te p±µibhogo pañcanna½ acchar±sat±na½ paµil±bh±ya kakuµap±d±nan”ti. “Sace me, bhante, bhagav± p±µibhogo pañcanna½ acchar±sat±na½ paµil±bh±ya kakuµap±d±na½, abhiramiss±maha½, bhante, bhagavati brahmacariye”ti [bhagav± brahmacariyeti (sy±. p².), bhagav± brahmacariyanti (ka.)].
Atha kho bhagav± ±yasmanta½ nanda½ b±h±ya½ gahetv±– seyyath±pi n±ma balav± puriso samiñjita½ v± b±ha½ pas±reyya, pas±rita½ v± b±ha½ samiñjeyya, evameva– devesu t±vati½sesu antarahito jetavane p±turahosi.
Assosu½ kho bhikkh³– “±yasm± kira nando bhagavato bh±t± m±tucch±putto acchar±na½ hetu brahmacariya½ carati; bhagav± kirassa p±µibhogo pañcanna½ acchar±sat±na½ paµil±bh±ya kakuµap±d±nan”ti.
Atha kho ±yasmato nandassa sah±yak± bhikkh³ ±yasmanta½ nanda½ bhatakav±dena ca upakkitakav±dena ca samud±caranti– “bhatako kir±yasm± nando upakkitako kir±yasm± nando acchar±na½ hetu brahmacariya½ carati; bhagav± kirassa p±µibhogo pañcanna½ acchar±sat±na½ paµil±bh±ya kakuµap±d±nan”ti.
Atha kho ±yasm± nando sah±yak±na½ bhikkh³na½ bhatakav±dena ca upakkitakav±dena ca aµµ²yam±no har±yam±no jiguccham±no eko v³pakaµµho appamatto ±t±p² pahitatto viharanto nacirasseva– yassatth±ya kulaputt± sammadeva ag±rasm± anag±riya½ pabbajanti tadanuttara½– brahmacariyapariyos±na½ diµµheva dhamme saya½ abhiññ± sacchikatv± upasampajja vih±si. “Kh²º± j±ti, vusita½ brahmacariya½, kata½ karaº²ya½, n±para½ itthatt±y±”ti abbhaññ±si. Aññataro kho pan±yasm± nando arahata½ ahosi.
Atha kho aññatar± devat± abhikkant±ya rattiy± abhikkantavaºº± kevalakappa½ jetavana½ obh±setv± yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ aµµh±si. Ekamanta½ µhit± kho s± devat± bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “±yasm±, bhante, nando bhagavato bh±t± m±tucch±putto ±sav±na½ khay± an±sava½ cetovimutti½ paññ±vimutti½ diµµheva dhamme saya½ abhiññ± sacchikatv± upasampajja viharat²”ti. Bhagavatopi kho ñ±ºa½ udap±di– “nando ±sav±na½ khay± an±sava½ cetovimutti½ paññ±vimutti½ diµµheva dhamme saya½ abhiññ± sacchikatv± upasampajja viharat²”ti.
Atha kho ±yasm± nando tass± rattiy± accayena yena bhagav± tenupasaªkami; upasaªkamitv± bhagavanta½ abhiv±detv± ekamanta½ nis²di. Ekamanta½ nisinno kho ±yasm± nando bhagavanta½ etadavoca– “ya½ me, bhante, bhagav± p±µibhogo pañcanna½ acchar±sat±na½ paµil±bh±ya kakuµap±d±na½, muñc±maha½, bhante, bhagavanta½ etasm± paµissav±”ti. “May±pi kho tva½, nanda [kho te nanda (s². sy±. p².), kho nanda (ka.)], cetas± ceto paricca vidito– ‘nando ±sav±na½ khay± an±sava½ cetovimutti½ paññ±vimutti½ diµµheva dhamme saya½ abhiññ± sacchikatv± upasampajja viharat²’ti. Devat±pi me etamattha½ ±rocesi– ‘±yasm±, bhante, nando bhagavato bh±t± m±tucch±putto ±sav±na½ khay± an±sava½ cetovimutti½ paññ±vimutti½ diµµheva dhamme saya½ abhiññ± sacchikatv± upasampajja viharat²’ti. Yadeva kho te, nanda, anup±d±ya ±savehi citta½ vimutta½, ath±ha½ mutto etasm± paµissav±”ti.
Atha kho bhagav± etamattha½ viditv± t±ya½ vel±ya½ ima½ ud±na½ ud±nesi–
“Yassa nittiººo paªko,
maddito k±makaºµako;
mohakkhaya½ anuppatto,
sukhadukkhesu na vedhat² sa bhikkh³”ti. Dutiya½.
