13. Saµµhik³µapetavatthu

Y±vadeva anatth±y±ti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± ve¼uvane viharanto saµµhik³µapeta½ ±rabbha kathesi.
Purimanayeneva hi mah±moggall±natthero lakkhaºattherena saddhi½ gijjhak³µ± orohanto aññatarasmi½ padese sita½ p±tv±k±si. Therena sitak±raºa½ puµµho “bhagavato santike ma½ puccheyy±s²”ti vatv± piº¹±ya caritv± satth±ra½ upasaªkamitv± vanditv± nisinnak±le puna puµµho ±ha– “aha½, ±vuso, eka½ peta½ addasa½ tig±vutappam±ºena attabh±vena, tassa saµµhi ayak³µasahass±ni ±ditt±ni sampajjalit±ni uparimatthake patitv± patitv± uµµhahanti s²sa½ bhindanti, bhinna½ bhinna½ puna samuµµhahati imin± attabh±vena may± evar³po attabh±vo na diµµhapubbo, aha½ ta½ disv± sita½ p±tv±k±sin”ti. Imameva peta½ sandh±ya vutta½. Satth± therassa katha½ sutv±va, “bhikkhave, may±pesa satto bodhimaº¹e nisinneneva diµµho ‘ye ca pana me vacana½ na saddaheyyu½, tesa½ ahit±ya bhaveyy±’ti paresa½ anukamp±ya na kathesi½, id±ni pana moggall±nassa sakkh² hutv± kathem²”ti ±ha. Ta½ sutv± bhikkh³ tassa pubbakamma½ pucchi½su. Satth±pi nesa½ kathesi–

At²te kira b±r±ºasiya½ s±¼ittakasippe nipphatti½ patto eko p²µhasappi ahosi. So nagaradv±re ekassa vaµarukkhassa heµµh± nisinno sakkhar±ni khipitv± tassa paºº±ni chindanto “hatthir³paka½ no dassehi, assar³paka½ no dasseh²”ti g±mad±rakehi vuccam±no icchiticchit±ni r³p±ni dassetv± tesa½ santik± kh±dan²y±d²ni labhati. Athekadivasa½ r±j± uyy±na½ gacchanto ta½ padesa½ p±puºi. D±rak± p²µhasappi½ p±rohantare katv± pal±yi½su. Rañño µhitamajjhanhike rukkham³la½ paviµµhassa chidd±vachiddacch±y± sar²ra½ phari. So “ki½ nu kho etan”ti uddha½ olokento rukkhapaººesu hatthir³pak±d²ni disv± “kasseta½ kamman”ti pucchitv± “p²µhasappino”ti sutv± ta½ pakkos±petv± ±ha– “mayha½ purohito atimukharo appamattakepi vutte bahu½ bhaºanto ma½ upaddaveti, sakkhissasi tassa mukhe n±¼imatt± ajalaº¹ik± khipitun”ti? “Sakkhiss±mi, deva. Ajalaº¹ik± ±har±petv± purohitena saddhi½ tumhe antos±ºiya½ nis²datha, ahamettha kattabba½ j±niss±m²”ti. Atha r±j± tath± k±resi. Itaro kattariyaggena s±ºiy± chidda½ katv± purohitassa raññ± saddhi½ kathentassa mukhe vivaµamatte ekeka½ ajalaº¹ika½ khipi. Purohito mukha½ paviµµha½ paviµµha½ gili. P²µhasapp² kh²º±su ajalaº¹ik±su s±ºi½ c±lesi. R±j± t±ya saññ±ya ajalaº¹ik±na½ kh²ºabh±va½ ñatv± ±ha– “±cariya, aha½ tumhehi saddhi½ kathento katha½ nittharitu½ na sakkhiss±mi, tumhe atimukharat±ya n±¼imatt± ajalaº¹ik± gilant±pi tuºh²bh±va½ n±pajjath±”ti. Br±hmaºo maªgu-ubh±va½ ±pajjitv± tato paµµh±ya mukha½ vivaritv± raññ± saddhi½ sallapitu½ nasakkhi. R±j± p²µhasappiguºa½ anussaritv± ta½ pakkos±petv± “ta½ niss±ya me sukha½ laddhan”ti tuµµho tassa sabbaµµhaka½ n±ma dhana½ datv± nagarassa cat³su dis±su catt±ro varag±me ad±si. Tamattha½ viditv± rañño atthadhamm±nus±sako amacco ima½ g±tham±ha–
“S±dhu kho sippaka½ n±ma, api y±disa k²disa½;
passa khañjappah±rena, laddh± g±m± catuddis±”ti. (J±. 1.1.107).
So pana amacco tena samayena ayameva bhagav± ahosi. Atheko puriso p²µhasappin± laddhasampatti½ disv± cintesi– “aya½ n±ma p²µhasapp² hutv± ima½ sippa½ niss±ya mah±sampatti½ patto, may±peta½ sikkhitu½ vaµµat²”ti. So ta½ upasaªkamitv± vanditv± “ida½ me ±cariya, sippa½ deth±”ti ±ha. “Na sakk±, t±ta, d±tun”ti. So tena paµikkhitto “hotu, ±r±dhess±mi nan”ti tassa hatthap±daparikamm±d²ni karonto cirassa½ ta½ ±r±dhetv± punappuna½ y±ci, p²µhasapp² “aya½ me ativiya upak±ro”ti ta½ paµib±hitu½ asakkonto sippa½ sikkh±petv± “nipphanna½ te, t±ta, sippa½, id±ni ki½ karissas²”ti ±ha. “Bahi gantv± sippa½ v²ma½siss±m²”ti. “Ki½ karissas²”ti? “G±vi½ v± manussa½ v± paharitv± m±ress±m²”ti. “T±t±, g±vi½ m±rentassa sata½ daº¹o hoti manussa½ m±rentassa sahassa½, tva½ saputtad±ropi ta½ nittharitu½ na sakkhissasi, m± vinassa, yamhi pahaµe daº¹o natthi, t±disa½ nim±t±pitika½ kañci upadh±reh²”ti. So “s±dh³”ti sakkhar± ucchaªge katv± t±disa½ upadh±rayam±no vicaranto g±vi½ disv± “aya½ sas±mik±”ti paharitu½ na visahi, manussa½ disv± “aya½ sam±t±pitiko”ti paharitu½ na visati.
Tena samayena sunetto n±ma paccekabuddho ta½ nagara½ niss±ya paººas±l±ya viharati. So ta½ piº¹±ya pavisanta½ nagaradv±rantare disv± “aya½ nim±t±pitiko, imasmi½ pahaµe daº¹o natthi, ima½ paharitv± sippa½ v²ma½siss±m²”ti paccekabuddhassa dakkhiºakaººasota½ sandh±ya sakkhara½ khipi. S± dakkhiºakaººasotena pavisitv± v±mena nikkhami, dukkh± vedan± uppajji. Paccekabuddho bhikkh±ya caritu½ n±sakkhi, ±k±sena paººas±la½ gantv± parinibb±yi. Manuss± paccekabuddhe an±gacchante “kiñci aph±suka½ bhavissat²”ti cintetv± tattha gantv± ta½ parinibbuta½ disv± rodi½su paridevi½su. Sopi mah±jana½ gacchanta½ disv± tattha gantv± paccekabuddha½ sañj±nitv± “aya½ piº¹±ya pavisanto dv±rantare mama sammukh²bh³to, aha½ attano sippa½ v²ma½santo ima½ paharin”ti ±ha. Manuss± “imin± kira p±pakena paccekabuddho pahaµo, gaºhatha gaºhath±”ti pothetv± tattheva na½ j²vitakkhaya½ p±pesu½. So av²cimhi nibbattitv± y±v±ya½ mah±pathav² yojanamatta½ ussann±, t±va paccitv± vip±k±vasesena gijjhak³µamatthake saµµhik³µapeto hutv± nibbatti. Satth± tassa ima½ pubbakamma½ kathetv±, “bhikkhave, b±lassa n±ma sippa½ v± issariya½ v± uppajjam±na½ anatth±ya uppajjati. B±lo hi sippa½ v± issariya½ v± labhitv± attano anatthameva karot²”ti anusandhi½ ghaµetv± dhamma½ desento ima½ g±tham±ha.
72. “Y±vadeva anatth±ya, ñatta½ b±lassa j±yati;
hanti b±lassa sukka½sa½, muddhamassa vip±tayan”ti.
Tattha y±vadev±ti avadhiparicchedanatthe nip±to. Ñattanti j±nanasabh±vo. Ya½ sippa½ j±n±ti yamhi v± issariye yase sampattiyañca µhito janena ñ±yati, p±kaµo paññ±to hoti, tasseta½ n±ma½. Sippa½ v± hi issariy±dibh±vo v± b±lassa anatth±yeva j±yati. Ta½ niss±ya so attano anatthameva karoti. Hant²ti vin±seti. Sukka½santi kusalakoµµh±sa½, b±lassa hi sippa½ v± issariya½ v± uppajjam±na½ kusalakoµµh±sa½ gh±tentameva uppajjati. Muddhanti paññ±yeta½ n±ma½. Vip±tayanti viddha½sayam±na½. Tassa hi ta½ sukka½sa½ hananta½ paññ±saªkh±ta½ muddha½ vip±tenta½ viddha½sentameva hant²ti.
