Eko coro te vañcetv± eka½ sahassatthavika½ ovaµµik±ya katv± ta½ khetta½ gantv± tehi saddhi½ bhaº¹a½ bh±jetv± ±d±ya gacchanto ovaµµikato patam±na½ sahassatthavika½ na sallakkhesi. Ta½ divasa½ satth± pacc³sasamaye loka½ volokento ta½ kassaka½ attano ñ±ºaj±lassa antopaviµµha½ disv± “ki½ nu kho bhavissat²”ti upadh±rayam±no ida½ addasa– “aya½ kassako p±tova kasitu½ gamissati, bhaº¹as±mik± cor±na½ anupada½ gantv± ovaµµikato patam±na½ sahassatthavika½ disv± eta½ gaºhissanti, ma½ µhapetv± tassa añño sakkh² n±ma na bhavissati, sot±pattimaggassa upanissayopissa atthi, tattha may± gantu½ vaµµat²”ti. Sopi kassako p±tova kasitu½ gato. Satth± ±nandattherena pacch±samaºena tattha agam±si. Kassako satth±ra½ disv± gantv± bhagavanta½ vanditv± puna kasitu½ ±rabhi. Satth± tena saddhi½ kiñci avatv±va sahassatthavik±ya patitaµµh±na½ gantv± ta½ disv± ±nandatthera½ ±ha– “passa, ±nanda, ±s²viso”ti. “Pass±mi, bhante, ghoraviso”ti.
Kassako ta½ katha½ sutv± “mama vel±ya v± avel±ya v± vicaraºaµµh±nameta½, ±s²viso kirettha atth²”ti cintetv± satthari ettaka½ vatv± pakkante “m±ress±mi nan”ti patodalaµµhi½ ±d±ya gato sahassabhaº¹ika½ disv± “ima½ sandh±ya satth±r± kathita½ bhavissat²”ti ta½ ±d±ya nivatto, abyattat±ya ekamante µhapetv± pa½sun± paµicch±detv± puna kasitu½ ±rabhi. Manuss± ca vibh±t±ya rattiy± gehe corehi katakamma½ disv± pad±nupada½ gacchant± ta½ khetta½ gantv± tattha corehi bhaº¹assa bh±jitaµµh±na½ disv± kassakassa padavalañja½ addasa½su. Te tassa pad±nus±rena gantv± thavik±ya µhapitaµµh±na½ disv± pa½su½ viy³hitv± thavika½ ±d±ya “tva½ geha½ vilumpitv± khetta½ kasam±no viya vicaras²”ti tajjetv± pothetv± netv± rañño dassayi½su. R±j± ta½ pavatti½ sutv± tassa vadha½ ±º±pesi. R±japuris± ta½ pacch±b±ha½ bandhitv± kas±hi t±¼ent± ±gh±tana½ nayi½su. So kas±hi t±¼iyam±no añña½ kiñci avatv± “pass±nanda, ±s²visoti, pass±mi bhagav± ghoraviso”ti vadanto gacchati. Atha na½ r±japuris± “tva½ satthu ceva ±nandattherassa ca katha½ kathesi, ki½ n±metan”ti pucchitv±– “r±j±na½ daµµhu½ labham±no kathess±m²”ti vutte rañño santika½ netv± rañño ta½ pavatti½ kathayi½su. Atha na½ r±j± “kasm± eva½ kathes²”ti pucchi. So “n±ha½, deva, coro”ti vatv± kasanatth±ya nikkhantak±lato paµµh±ya sabba½ ta½ pavatti½ rañño ±cikkhi. R±j± tassa katha½ sutv± “aya½ bhaºe loke aggapuggala½ satth±ra½ sakkhi½ apadisati, na yutta½ etassa dosa½ ±ropetu½, ahamettha kattabba½ j±niss±m²”ti ta½ ±d±ya s±yanhasamaye satthu santika½ gantv± satth±ra½ pucchi– “bhagav± kacci tumhe ±nandattherena saddhi½ etassa kassakassa kasanaµµh±na½ gat±”ti? “¾ma, mah±r±j±”ti. “Ki½ vo tattha diµµhan”ti? “Sahassatthavik±, mah±r±j±”ti. “Disv± ki½ avocutth±”ti? “Ida½ n±ma, mah±r±j±”ti. “Bhante, sac±ya½ puriso tumh±disa½ apadisa½ n±karissa, na j²vita½ alabhissa, tumhehi pana kathitakatha½ kathetv± tena j²vita½ laddhan”ti. Ta½ sutv± satth± “±ma, mah±r±ja, ahampi ettakameva vatv± gato, paº¹itena n±ma ya½ kamma½ katv± pacch±nutappa½ hoti, ta½ na kattabban”ti vatv± anusandhi½ ghaµetv± dhamma½ desento ima½ g±tham±ha–
67. “Na ta½ kamma½ kata½ s±dhu, ya½ katv± anutappati;
yassa assumukho roda½, vip±ka½ paµisevat²”ti.
Tattha na ta½ kammanti ya½ niray±d²su nibbattanasamattha½ dukkhudraya½ kamma½ katv± anussaranto anussarit±nussaritakkhaºe anutappati anusocati, ta½ kata½ na s±dhu na sundara½ niratthaka½. Yassa assumukhoti yassa ass³hi tintamukho rodanto vip±ka½ anubhot²ti.
Desan±vas±ne kassako up±sako sot±pattiphala½ patto, sampattabhikkh³pi sot±pattiphal±d²ni p±puºi½s³ti.
