Putt± matth²ti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± s±vatthiya½ viharanto ±nandaseµµhi½ ±rabbha kathesi.
S±vatthiya½ kira ±nandaseµµhi n±ma catt±l²sakoµivibhavo mah±macchar² ahosi. So anva¹¹ham±sa½ ń±take sannip±tetv± putta½ m³lasiri½ n±ma t²su vel±su eva½ ovadati– “ida½ catt±l²sakoµidhana½ ‘bah³”’ti m± sańńa½ kari, vijjam±na½ dhana½ na d±tabba½, nava½ dhana½ upp±detabba½. Ekekampi hi kah±paŗa½ vaya½ karontassa pana kh²yateva. Tasm±–

62. “Putt± matthi dhanammatthi, iti b±lo vihańńati;
att± hi attano natthi, kuto putt± kuto dhanan”ti.
Tassattho putt± me atthi, dhana½ me atthi, iti b±lo puttataŗh±ya ceva dhanataŗh±ya ca hańńati vihańńati dukkhayati, “putt± me nassi½s³”ti vihańńati, “nassant²”ti vihańńati, “nassissant²”ti vihańńati. Dhanepi eseva nayo. Iti chah±k±rehi vihańńati. “Putte posess±m²”ti rattińca div± ca thalajalapath±d²su n±nappak±rato v±yamantopi vihańńati, “dhana½ upp±dess±m²”ti kasiv±ŗijj±d²ni karontopi vihańńateva. Putt± v± dhana½ v± tasmi½ samaye ki½ dukkha½ hari½su, ki½ v± sukha½ upp±dayi½s³ti.
Desan±vas±ne catur±s²tiy± p±ŗasahass±na½ dhamm±bhisamayo ahosi. Desan± mah±janassa s±tthik± ahos²ti.
