Tesa½ sampannas²l±nanti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± r±jagaha½ upaniss±ya ve¼uvane viharanto godhikattherassa parinibb±na½ ±rabbha kathesi.
So hi ±yasm± isigilipasse k±¼asil±ya½ viharanto appamatto ±t±p² pahitatto s±m±yika½ cetovimutti½ phusitv± ekassa anuss±yikassa rogassa vasena tato parih±yi. So dutiyampi tatiyampi chakkhattu½ jh±na½ nibbattetv± parih²no, sattame v±re upp±detv± cintesi– “aha½ chakkhattu½ jh±n± parih²no, parih²najjh±nassa kho pana aniyat± gati, id±neva sattha½ ±hariss±m²”ti kesoropanasatthaka½ gahetv± galan±¼i½ chinditu½ pañcake nipajji. M±ro tassa citta½ ñatv± “aya½ bhikkhu sattha½ ±harituk±mo, sattha½ ±harant± kho pana j²vite nirapekkh± honti, te vipassana½ paµµhapetv± arahattampi p±puºanti, sac±ha½ eta½ v±ress±mi, na me vacana½ karissati, satth±ra½ v±r±pess±m²”ti aññ±takavesena satth±ra½ upasaªkamitv± evam±ha–
“Mah±v²ra mah±pañña, iddhiy± yasas± jala½;
sabbaverabhay±t²ta, p±de vand±mi cakkhuma.
“S±vako te mah±v²ra, maraºa½ maraº±bhibh³;
±kaªkhati cetayati, ta½ nisedha jutindhara.
“Kathañhi bhagav± tuyha½, s±vako s±sane rato;
appattam±naso sekkho, k±la½ kayir± jane sut±”ti. (Sa½. ni. 1.159).
Tasmi½ khaºe therena sattha½ ±harita½ hoti. Satth± “m±ro ayan”ti viditv± ima½ g±tham±ha–
“Evañhi dh²r± kubbanti, n±vakaªkhanti j²vita½;
sam³la½ taºhamabbuyha, godhiko parinibbuto”ti. (Sa½. ni. 1.159).
Atha kho bhagav± sambahulehi bhikkh³hi saddhi½ therassa sattha½ ±haritv± nipannaµµh±na½ agam±si. Tasmi½ khaºe m±ro p±pim± “kattha nu kho imassa paµisandhiviññ±ºa½ patiµµhitan”ti dh³mar±si viya timirapuñjo viya ca hutv± sabbadis±su therassa viññ±ºa½ samanvesati. Bhagav± ta½ dh³matimirabh±va½ bhikkh³na½ dassetv± “eso kho, bhikkhave, m±ro p±pim± godhikassa kulaputtassa viññ±ºa½ samanvesati ‘kattha godhikassa kulaputtassa viññ±ºa½ patiµµhitan’ti. Apatiµµhitena ca, bhikkhave, viññ±ºena godhiko kulaputto parinibbuto”ti ±ha. M±ropi tassa viññ±ºaµµh±na½ daµµhu½ asakkonto kum±rakavaººo hutv± beluvapaº¹uv²ºa½ ±d±ya satth±ra½ upasaªkamitv± pucchi–
“Uddha½ adho ca tiriya½, dis± anudis± svaha½;
anvesa½ n±dhigacch±mi, godhiko so kuhi½ gato”ti. (Sa½. ni. 1.159).
Atha na½ satth± ±ha–
“Yo dh²ro dhitisampanno, jh±y² jh±narato sad±;
ahoratta½ anuyuñja½, j²vita½ anik±maya½.
“Jetv±na maccuno sena½, an±gantv± punabbhava½;
sam³la½ taºhamabbuyha, godhiko parinibbuto”ti. (Sa½. ni. 1.159).
Eva½ vutte m±ro p±pim± bhagavanta½ g±th±ya ajjhabh±si–
“Tassa sokaparetassa, v²º± kacch± abhassatha;
tato so dummano yakkho, tatthevantaradh±yath±”ti. (Sa½. ni. 1.159).
Satth±pi “ki½ te, p±pima, godhikassa kulaputtassa nibbattaµµh±nena? Tassa hi nibbattaµµh±na½ tumh±dis±na½ satampi sahassampi daµµhu½ na sakkot²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–
57. “Tesa½ sampannas²l±na½, appam±davih±rina½;
sammadaññ± vimutt±na½, m±ro magga½ na vindat²”ti.
Tattha tesanti yath± appatiµµhitena viññ±ºena godhiko kulaputto parinibbuto, ye ca eva½ parinibb±yanti, tesa½ sampannas²l±nanti paripuººas²l±na½. Appam±davih±rinanti sati-avippav±sasaªkh±tena appam±dena viharant±na½. Sammadaññ± vimutt±nanti hetun± ñ±yena k±raºena j±nitv± “tadaªgavimuttiy±, vikkhambhanavimuttiy±, samucchedavimuttiy±, paµippassaddhivimuttiy±, nissaraºavimuttiy±”ti im±hi pañcahi vimutt²hi vimutt±na½. M±ro magga½ na vindat²ti evar³p±na½ mah±kh²º±sav±na½ sabbath±mena maggantopi m±ro gatamagga½ na vindati na labhati na passat²ti.
