Na paresa½ vilom±n²ti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± s±vatthiya½ viharanto p±veyya½ n±ma ±j²vaka½ ±rabbha kathesi.
S±vatthiya½ kirek± gahapat±n² puttaµµh±ne µhapetv± p±veyya½ n±ma ±j²vaka½ paµijaggi. Tass±nantaragharesu manuss± satthu dhammadesana½ sutv± ±gantv±, “aho acchariy± buddh±na½ dhammadesan±”ti n±nappak±rehi buddhaguºe vaººenti. S± buddh±na½ guºakatha½ sutv± vih±ra½ gantv± dhamma½ sotuk±m± ±j²vakassa etamattha½ kathetv±, “gacchiss±mi aha½ buddhasantika½, ayy±”ti ±ha. So “m± gacch±h²”ti niv±retv± ta½ punappuna½ y±cam±nampi niv±resi eva. S± “aya½ mama vih±ra½ gantv± dhamma½ sotu½ na deti, satth±ra½ nimantetv± idheva dhamma½ suºiss±m²”ti s±yanhasamaye putta½ pakkositv±, “gaccha, t±ta, sv±tan±ya satth±ra½ nimanteh²”ti pesesi. So gacchanto paµhamatara½ ±j²vakassa vasanaµµh±na½ gantv± ta½ vanditv± nis²di. Atha na½ so “kaha½ gacchas²”ti ±ha. “M±tu vacanena satth±ra½ nimantetu½ gacch±m²”ti ±ha. “M± tassa santika½ gacch±h²”ti. “Ala½, ayya, mama m±tu bh±y±mi, gacchiss±mahan”ti. “Etassa katasakk±ra½ ubhopi kh±diss±ma, m± gacch±h²”ti. “Ala½, ayya, m±t± me tajjessat²”ti. Tena hi gaccha, gantv± pana nimantetv±, “amh±ka½ geha½ asukaµµh±ne v± asukav²thiya½ v± asukamaggena v± gantabban”ti m± ±cikkhi. “Santike µhito viya aññena maggena gacchanto viya pal±yitv± eh²”ti. So ±j²vakassa vacana½ sutv± satthu santika½ gantv± nimantetv± ±j²vakena vuttaniy±meneva sabba½ katv± tassa santika½ gantv±, “ki½ te katan”ti puµµho, “sabba½ kata½, ayy±”ti ±ha. “Bhaddaka½ te kata½, tassa sakk±ra½ ubhopi kh±diss±m±”ti vatv± punadivase ±j²vako p±tova ta½ geha½ agam±si. Ta½ gahetv± pacch±gabbhe nis²d±pesu½.
Paµivissakamanuss± ta½ geha½ allagomayena upalimpitv± l±japañcam±ni pupph±ni vikiritv± satthu nis²danatth±ya mah±raha½ ±sana½ paññ±pesu½. Buddhehi saddhi½ aparicitamanuss± hi ±sanapaññatti½ na j±nanti, buddh±nañca maggadesakena kicca½ n±ma natthi, bodhim³le dasasahassisokadh±tu½ kampetv± sambodhi½ pattadivaseyeva hi nesa½ “aya½ maggo niraya½ gacchati, aya½ tiracch±nayoni½, aya½ pettivisaya½, aya½ manussaloka½, aya½ devaloka½, aya½ amatamah±nibb±nan”ti sabbe magg± ±vibh³t±. G±manigam±d²na½ pana magge vattabbameva natthi. Tasm± satth± p±tova pattac²varam±d±ya mah±-up±sik±ya gehadv±ra½ gato. S± geh± nikkhamitv± satth±ra½ pañcapatiµµhitena vanditv± antonivesana½ pavesetv± ±sane nis²d±petv± dakkhiºodaka½ datv± paº²tena kh±dan²yena bhojan²yena parivisi. Up±sik± katabhattakiccassa satthuno anumodana½ k±retuk±m± patta½ gaºhi. Satth± madhurassarena anumodanadhammakatha½ ±rabhi. Up±sik± “s±dhu, s±dh³”ti s±dhuk±ra½ dadam±n± dhamma½ suºi. ¾j²vakopi pacch±gabbhe nisinnova tass± s±dhuk±ra½ datv± dhamma½ suºantiy± sadda½ sutv± sandh±retu½ n±sakkhi. “Na id±nes± mayhan”ti nikkhamitv± “naµµh±si k±¼akaººi, etassa eva½ sakk±ra½ karot²”ti n±nappak±rena up±sikañca satth±rañca akkosanto pal±yi. Up±sik± tassa kath±ya lajjit± aññathatta½ gata½ citta½ desan±nus±rena ñ±ºa½ pesetu½ n±sakkhi. Atha na½ satth± “ki½ up±sike citta½ desan±nugata½ k±tu½ na sakkos²”ti? “Bhante, etassa me kath±ya citta½ aññathatta½ upagatan”ti Satth± “evar³passa visabh±gajanassa kathita½ katha½ n±ma ±vajjitu½ na vaµµati, evar³pa½ asamann±haritv± attano kat±katameva oloketu½ vaµµat²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–

attanova avekkheyya, kat±ni akat±ni c±”ti.
Tattha na paresa½ vilom±n²ti paresa½ vilom±ni pharus±ni mammacchedakavacan±ni na manasik±tabb±ni. Na paresa½ kat±katanti “asuko up±sako assaddho appasanno, n±pissa gehe kaµacchubhikkh±d²ni diyyanti, na sal±kabhatt±d²ni, na c²var±dipaccayad±na½ etassa atthi, tath± asuk± up±sik± assaddh± appasann±, n±piss± gehe kaµacchubhikkh±d²ni diyyanti, na sal±kabhatt±d²ni, na c²var±dipaccayad±na½ etiss± atthi, tath± asuko bhikkhu assaddho appasanno, n±pi upajjh±yavatta½ karoti, na ±cariyavatta½, na ±gantukavatta½, na gamikavatta½, na cetiyaªgaºavatta½, na uposath±g±ravatta½, na bhojanas±l±vatta½, na jant±gharavatt±d²ni, n±pissa kiñci dhutaªga½ atthi, na bh±van±r±mat±ya uss±hamattamp²”ti eva½ paresa½ kat±kata½ n±ma na oloketabba½. Attanova avekkheyy±ti “katha½ bh³tassa me rattindiv± v²tivattant²ti pabbajitena abhiºha½ paccavekkhitabban”ti (a. ni. 10.48) ima½ ov±da½ anussaranto saddh±pabbajito kulaputto “ki½ nu kho aha½ ‘anicca½ dukkha½ anatt±’ti tilakkhaºa½ ±ropetv± yoge kamma½ k±tu½ sakkhi½ n±sakkhin”ti eva½ attano kat±kat±ni olokeyy±ti.
