3. Aññatara-ukkaºµhitabhikkhuvatthu

Sududdasanti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± s±vatthiya½ viharanto aññatara½ ukkaºµhitabhikkhu½ ±rabbha kathesi.
Satthari kira s±vatthiya½ viharante eko seµµhiputto attano kul³pagatthera½ upasaªkamitv±, “bhante, aha½ dukkh± muccituk±mo, eka½ me dukkhato muccanak±raºa½ katheth±”ti ±ha. “S±dh±vuso, sacesi dukkh± muccituk±mo, sal±kabhatta½ dehi, pakkhikabhatta½ dehi, vass±v±sika½ dehi, c²var±dayo paccaye dehi, attano s±pateyya½ tayo koµµh±se katv± ekena kammanta½ payojehi, ekena puttad±ra½ posehi, eka½ buddhas±sane deh²”ti ±ha. So “s±dhu, bhante”ti vuttapaµip±µiy± sabba½ katv± puna thera½ pucchi– “tato uttari½ añña½ ki½ karomi, bhante”ti? “¾vuso, t²ºi saraº±ni gaºha, pañca s²l±ni gaºh±h²”ti. T±nipi paµiggahetv± tato uttari½ pucchi. “Tena hi dasa s²l±ni gaºh±h²”ti. “S±dhu, bhante”ti gaºhi. So eva½ anupubbena puññakammassa katatt± anupubbaseµµhiputto n±ma j±to. Tato “uttarimpi kattabba½ atthi, bhante”ti puna pucchitv±, “tena hi pabbaj±h²”ti vutto nikkhamitv± pabbaji. Tasseko ±bhidhammikabhikkhu ±cariyo ahosi. Eko vinayadharo upajjh±yo. Tassa laddh³pasampadassa ±cariyo attano santika½ ±gatak±le abhidhamme pañha½ kathesi– “buddhas±sane n±ma ida½ k±tu½ vaµµati, ida½ na vaµµat²”ti. Upajjh±yopissa attano santika½ ±gatak±le vinaye pañha½ kathesi– “buddhas±sane n±ma ida½ k±tu½ vaµµati, ida½ na vaµµati, ida½ kappati, ida½ na kappat²”ti. So cintesi– “aho bh±riya½ ida½ kamma½, aha½ dukkh± muccituk±mo pabbajito, idha ca mama hatthapas±raºaµµh±nampi na paññ±yati, gehe µhatv±va dukkh± muccitu½ sakk±, may± gihin± bhavitu½ vaµµat²”ti. So tato paµµh±ya ukkaºµhito anabhirato dvatti½s±k±re sajjh±ya½ na karoti, uddesa½ na gaºh±ti, kiso l³kho dhamanisanthatagatto ±lassiy±bhibh³to kacchuparikiººo ahosi.
Atha na½ daharas±maºer±, “±vuso, ki½ tva½ µhitaµµh±ne µhitova nisinnaµµh±ne nisinnova ahosi, paº¹urog±bhibh³to kiso l³kho dhamanisanthatagatto ±lassiy±bhibh³to kacchuparikiººo, ki½ te katan”ti pucchi½su. “Ukkaºµhitomhi, ±vuso”ti. “Ki½ k±raº±”ti? So ta½ pavatti½ ±rocesi. Te tassa ±cariyupajjh±y±na½ ±cikkhi½su. ¾cariyupajjh±y± ta½ ±d±ya satthu santika½ agama½su. Satth± “ki½, bhikkhave, ±gatatth±”ti ±ha. “Bhante, aya½ bhikkhu tumh±ka½ s±sane ukkaºµhito”ti. “Eva½ kira bhikkh³”ti. “¾ma, bhante”ti. “Ki½ k±raº±”ti? “Aha½, bhante, dukkh± muccituk±mova pabbajito, tassa me ±cariyo abhidhammakatha½ kathesi, upajjh±yo vinayakatha½ kathesi, sv±ha½ ‘idha me hatthapas±raºaµµh±nampi natthi, gihin± hutv± sakk± dukkh± muccitu½, gihi bhaviss±m²’ti sanniµµh±namak±si½, bhante”ti. “Sace tva½, bhikkhu, ekameva rakkhitu½ sakkhissasi, avases±na½ rakkhanakicca½ natth²”ti. “Ki½, bhante”ti? “Tava cittameva rakkhitu½ sakkhissas²”ti. “Sakkhiss±mi, bhante”ti. “Tena hi attano cittameva rakkh±hi, sakk± dukkh± muccitun”ti ima½ ov±da½ datv± ima½ g±tham±ha–
36. “Sududdasa½ sunipuºa½, yatthak±manip±tina½;
citta½ rakkhetha medh±v², citta½ gutta½ sukh±vahan”ti.
Tattha sududdasanti suµµhu duddasa½. Sunipuºanti suµµhu nipuºa½ paramasaºha½. Yatthak±manip±tinanti j±ti-±d²ni anoloketv± labhitabb±labhitabbayutt±yuttaµµh±nesu yattha katthaci nipatanas²la½. Citta½ rakkhetha medh±v²ti andhab±lo dummedho attano citta½ rakkhitu½ samattho n±ma natthi, cittavasiko hutv± anayabyasana½ p±puº±ti. Medh±v² pana paº¹itova citta½ rakkhitu½ sakkoti, tasm± tvampi cittameva gopehi. Idañhi citta½ gutta½ sukh±vaha½ maggaphalanibb±nasukh±ni ±vahat²ti.
Desan±pariyos±ne so bhikkhu sot±pattiphala½ p±puºi, aññepi bah³ sot±pann±dayo ahesu½, desan± mah±janassa s±tthik± ahos²ti.
