R±jagahasmiñhi samm±diµµhikaputto micch±diµµhikaputtoti dve d±rak± abhikkhaºa½ gu¼ak²¼a½ k²¼anti. Tesu samm±diµµhikaputto gu¼a½ khipam±no buddh±nussati½ ±vajjetv± “namo buddhass±”ti vatv± vatv± gu¼a½ khipati. Itaro titthiyaguºe uddisitv± “namo arahant±nan”ti vatv± vatv± khipati. Tesu samm±diµµhikassa putto jin±ti, itaro pana par±jayati. So tassa kiriya½ disv± “aya½ eva½ anussaritv± eva½ vatv± gu¼a½ khipanto mama½ jin±ti, ahampi evar³pa½ kariss±m²”ti buddh±nussatiya½ paricayamak±si. Athekadivasa½ tassa pit± sakaµa½ yojetv± d±r³na½ atth±ya gacchanto tampi d±raka½ ±d±ya gantv± aµaviya½ d±r³na½ sakaµa½ p³retv± ±gacchanto bahinagare sus±nas±mante udakaph±sukaµµh±ne goºe mocetv± bhattavissaggamak±si. Athassa te goº± s±yanhasamaye nagara½ pavisantena gogaºena saddhi½ nagarameva pavisi½su. S±kaµikopi goºe anubandhanto nagara½ pavisitv± s±ya½ goºe disv± ±d±ya nikkhamanto dv±ra½ na samp±puºi. So tena niv±riyam±nopi tassa vacana½ an±diyitv± d±raka½ p±desu gahetv± ±ka¹¹hi. So buddh±nussatiy± paricitatt± tasmi½ khaºe “namo buddhass±”ti ±ha. Amanusso mah±bhayabh²to paµikkamitv± aµµh±si. Atha na½ itaro “amhehi akicca½ kata½, daº¹akamma½ tassa karom±”ti vatv± ta½ rakkham±no aµµh±si. Micch±diµµhiko nagara½ pavisitv± rañño bhojanap±ti½ p³retv± bhojana½ ±hari. Atha na½ ubhopi tassa m±t±pitaro viya hutv± upaµµh±petv± bhojetv± “im±ni akkhar±ni r±j±va passatu, m± añño”ti ta½ pavatti½ pak±sent± yakkh±nubh±vena bhojanap±tiya½ akkhar±ni chinditv± p±ti½ d±rusakaµe pakkhipitv± sabbaratti½ ±rakkha½ katv± pakkami½su.

R±j± ta½ pavatti½ ñatv± te tayopi jane ±d±ya satthu santika½ gantv± sabba½ ±rocetv± “ki½ nu kho, bhante, buddh±nussati eva rakkh± hoti, ud±hu dhamm±nussati-±dayop²”ti pucchi. Athassa satth±, “mah±r±ja, na kevala½ buddh±nussatiyeva rakkh±, yesa½ pana chabbidhena citta½ subh±vita½, tesa½ aññena rakkh±varaºena v± mantosadhehi v± kicca½ natth²”ti vatv± cha µh±n±ni dassento im± g±th± abh±si.

Sad± gotamas±vak±ti gotamagottassa buddhassa savanante j±tatt± tasseva anus±saniy± savanat±ya gotamas±vak±. Buddhagat± sat²ti yesa½ “itipi so bhagav±”ti-±dippabhede buddhaguºe ±rabbha uppajjam±n± sati niccak±la½ atthi, te sad±pi suppabuddha½ pabujjhant²ti attho. Tath± asakkont± pana ekadivasa½ t²su k±lesu dv²su k±lesu ekasmimpi k±le buddh±nussati½ manasi karont± suppabuddha½ pabujjhantiyeva n±ma. Dhammagat± sat²ti “sv±kh±to bhagavat± dhammo”ti-±dippabhede dhammaguºe ±rabbha uppajjam±n± sati. Saªghagat± sat²ti “suppaµipanno bhagavato s±vakasaªgho”ti-±dippabhede saªghaguºe ±rabbha uppajjam±n± sati. K±yagat± sat²ti dvatti½s±k±ravasena v± navasivathik±vasena v± catudh±tuvavatth±navasena v± ajjhattan²lakasiº±dir³pajjh±navasena v± uppajjam±n± sati. Ahi½s±ya ratoti “so karuº±sahagatena cetas± eka½ disa½ pharitv± viharat²”ti (vibha. 642) eva½ vutt±ya karuº±bh±van±ya rato. Bh±van±y±ti mett±bh±van±ya. Kiñc±pi heµµh± karuº±bh±van±ya vuttatt± idha sabb±pi avases± bh±van± n±ma, idha pana mett±bh±van±va adhippet±. Sesa½ paµhamag±th±ya vuttanayeneva veditabba½.
Desan±vas±ne d±rako saddhi½ m±t±pit³hi sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi. Pacch± pana pabbajitv± sabbepi arahatta½ p±puºi½su, sampatt±nampi s±tthik± dhammadesan± ahos²ti.
