3. Tissattheravatthu

Ayas±va malanti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± jetavane viharanto tissatthera½ n±ma bhikkhu½ ±rabbha kathesi.
Eko kira s±vatthiv±s² kulaputto pabbajitv± laddh³pasampado tissattheroti pańń±yi. So aparabh±ge janapadavih±re vass³pagato aµµhahatthaka½ th³las±µaka½ labhitv± vutthavasso pav±retv± ta½ ±d±ya gantv± bhaginiy± hatthe µhapesi. S± “na me eso s±µako bh±tu anucchaviko”ti ta½ tikhiŗ±ya v±siy± chinditv± h²rah²ra½ katv± udukkhale koµµetv± pavisetv± pothetv± vaµµetv± sukhumasutta½ kantitv± s±µaka½ v±y±pesi. Theropi suttańceva s³ciyo ca sa½vidahitv± c²varak±rake daharas±maŗere sannip±tetv± bhaginiy± santika½ gantv± “ta½ me s±µaka½ detha, c²vara½ k±ress±m²”ti ±ha. S± navahattha½ s±µaka½ n²haritv± kaniµµhabh±tikassa hatthe µhapesi. So ta½ gahetv± vitth±retv± oloketv± “mama s±µako th³lo aµµhahattho, aya½ sukhumo navahattho. N±ya½ mama s±µako, tumh±ka½ esa, na me imin± attho, tameva me deth±”ti ±ha. “Bhante, tumh±kameva eso, gaŗhatha nan”ti? So neva icchi. Athassa attan± katakicca½ sabba½ ±rocetv±, “bhante, tumh±kamevesa, gaŗhatha nan”ti ad±si. So ta½ ±d±ya vih±ra½ gantv± c²varakamma½ paµµhapesi.
Athassa bhagin² c²varak±r±na½ atth±ya y±gubhatt±d²ni samp±desi. C²varassa niµµhitadivase pana atirekasakk±ra½ k±resi. So c²vara½ oloketv± tasmi½ uppannasineho “sve d±ni na½ p±rupiss±m²”ti sa½haritv± c²varava½se µhapetv± ta½ ratti½ bhutt±h±ra½ jir±petu½ asakkonto k±la½ katv± tasmi½yeva c²vare ³k± hutv± nibbatti. Bhagin²pissa k±lakiriya½ sutv± bhikkh³na½ p±desu pavattam±n± rodi. Bhikkh³ tassa sar²rakicca½ katv± gil±nupaµµh±kassa abh±vena saŖghasseva ta½ p±puŗ±ti. “Bh±jess±ma nan”ti ta½ c²vara½ n²har±pesu½. S± ³k± “ime mama santaka½ vilumpant²”ti viravant² ito cito ca sandh±vi. Satth± gandhakuµiya½ nisinnova dibb±ya sotadh±tuy± ta½ sadda½ sutv±, “±nanda, tissassa c²vara½ abh±jetv± satt±ha½ nikkhipitu½ vadeh²”ti ±ha. Thero tath± k±resi. S±pi sattame divase k±la½ katv± tusitavim±ne nibbatti. Satth± “aµµhame divase tissassa c²vara½ bh±jetv± gaŗhath±”ti ±ŗ±pesi. Bhikkh³ tath± kari½su.
Bhikkh³ dhammasabh±ya½ katha½ samuµµh±pesu½ “kasm± nu kho satth± tissassa c²vara½ satta divase µhap±petv± aµµhame divase gaŗhitu½ anuj±n²”ti. Satth± ±gantv± “k±ya nuttha, bhikkhave, etarahi kath±ya sannisinn±”ti pucchitv± “im±ya n±m±”ti vutte, “bhikkhave, tisso attano c²vare ³k± hutv± nibbatto, tumhehi tasmi½ bh±jiyam±ne ‘ime mama santaka½ vilumpant²’ti viravant² ito cito ca dh±vi. S± tumhehi c²vare gayham±ne tumhesu mana½ padussitv± niraye nibbatteyya, tena c±ha½ c²vara½ nikkhip±pesi½. Id±ni pana s± tusitavim±ne nibbatt±, tena vo may± c²varagahaŗa½ anuńń±tan”ti vatv± puna tehi “bh±riy± vata aya½, bhante, taŗh± n±m±”ti vutte “±ma, bhikkhave, imesa½ satt±na½ taŗh± n±ma bh±riy±. Yath± ayato mala½ uµµhahitv± ayameva kh±dati vin±seti aparibhoga½ karoti, evamev±ya½ taŗh± imesa½ satt±na½ abbhantare uppajjitv± te satte niray±d²su nibbatt±peti, vin±sa½ p±pet²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–

tatuµµh±ya tameva kh±dati;
eva½ atidhonac±rina½,
s±ni kamm±ni nayanti duggatin”ti.
Tattha ayas±v±ti ayato samuµµhita½. Tatuµµh±y±ti tato uµµh±ya. Atidhonac±rinanti dhon± vuccati catt±ro paccaye “idamattha½ ete”ti paccavekkhitv± paribhuńjanapańń±, ta½ atikkamitv± caranto atidhonac±r² n±ma. Ida½ vutta½ hoti– yath± ayato mala½ samuµµh±ya tato samuµµhita½ tameva kh±dati, evameva½ catupaccaye apaccavekkhitv± paribhuńjanta½ atidhonac±rina½ s±ni kamm±ni attani µhitatt± attano santak±neva t±ni kamm±ni duggati½ nayant²ti.
