2. Aññatarabhikkhuvatthu

Yo ve uppatitanti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± agg±¼ave cetiye viharanto aññatara½ bhikkhu½ ±rabbha kathesi.
Satth±r± hi bhikkhusaªghassa sen±sane anuññ±te r±jagahaseµµhi-±d²hi sen±sanesu kariyam±nesu eko ±¼aviko bhikkhu attano sen±sana½ karonto eka½ man±parukkha½ disv± chinditu½ ±rabhi. Tattha pana nibbatt± ek± taruºaputt± devat± putta½ aªken±d±ya µhit± y±ci “m± me, s±mi, vim±na½ chindi, na sakkhiss±mi putta½ ±d±ya an±v±s± vicaritun”ti. So “aha½ aññatra ²disa½ rukkha½ na labhiss±m²”ti tass± vacana½ n±diyi. S± “imampi t±va d±raka½ oloketv± oramissat²”ti putta½ rukkhas±kh±ya µhapesi. Sopi bhikkhu ukkhipita½ pharasu½ sandh±retu½ asakkonto d±rakassa b±hu½ chindi, devat± uppannabalavakodh± “paharitv± na½ m±ress±m²”ti ubho hatthe ukkhipitv± eva½ t±va cintesi– “aya½ bhikkhu s²lav±. Sac±ha½ ima½ m±ress±mi, nirayag±min² bhaviss±mi. Sesadevat±pi attano rukkha½ chindante bhikkh³ disv± ‘asukadevat±ya eva½ n±ma m±rito bhikkh³’ti ma½ pam±ºa½ katv± bhikkh³ m±ressanti. Ayañca sas±miko bhikkhu, s±mikasseva na½ kathess±m²”ti ukkhittahatthe apanetv± rodam±n± satthu santika½ gantv± vanditv± ekamanta½ aµµh±si. Atha na½ satth± “ki½ devate”ti ±ha. S±, “bhante, tumh±ka½ me s±vakena ida½ n±ma kata½, ahampi na½ m±retuk±m± hutv± ida½ n±ma cintetv± am±retv±va idh±gat±”ti sabba½ ta½ pavatti½ vitth±rato ±rocesi.
Satth± ta½ sutv± “s±dhu, s±dhu devate, s±dhu te kata½ eva½ uggata½ kopa½ bhanta½ ratha½ viya niggaºham±n±y±”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–
222. “Yo ve uppatita½ kodha½, ratha½ bhanta½va v±raye;
tamaha½ s±rathi½ br³mi, rasmigg±ho itaro jano”ti.
Tattha uppatitanti uppanna½. Ratha½ bhanta½ v±ti yath± n±ma cheko s±rathi ativegena dh±vanta½ ratha½ niggaºhitv± yathicchaka½ µhapeti, eva½ yo puggalo uppanna½ kodha½ v±raye niggaºhitu½ sakkoti. Tamahanti ta½ aha½ s±rathi½ br³mi. Itaro janoti itaro pana r±ja-upar±j±d²na½ rathas±rathijano rasmigg±ho n±ma hoti, na uttamas±rath²ti.
Desan±vas±ne devat± sot±pattiphale patiµµhahi, sampattaparis±yapi s±tthik± dhammadesan± ahos²ti.
Devat± pana sot±pann± hutv±pi rodam±n± aµµh±si. Atha na½ satth± “ki½ devate”ti pucchitv±, “bhante, vim±na½ me naµµha½, id±ni ki½ kariss±m²”ti vutte, “ala½ devate, m± cintayi, aha½ te vim±na½ dass±m²”ti jetavane gandhakuµisam²pe purimadivase cutadevata½ eka½ rukkha½ apadisanto “amukasmi½ ok±se rukkho vivitto, tattha upagacch±”ti ±ha. S± tattha upagañchi. Tato paµµh±ya “buddhadattiya½ imiss± vim±nan”ti mahesakkhadevat±pi ±gantv± ta½ c±letu½ n±sakkhi½su. Satth± ta½ atthuppatti½ katv± bhikkh³na½ bh³tag±masikkh±pada½ paññ±pes²ti.
