6. Aññatarabr±hmaºavatthu

Taºh±ya j±yat²ti ima½ dhammadesana½ satth± jetavane viharanto aññatara½ br±hmaºa½ ±rabbha kathesi.
So kira micch±diµµhiko ekadivasa½ nad²t²ra½ gantv± khetta½ sodheti. Satth± tassa upanissayasampatti½ disv± tassa santika½ agam±si. So satth±ra½ disv±pi s±m²cikamma½ akatv± tuºh² ahosi. Atha na½ satth± puretara½ ±lapitv±, “br±hmaºa, ki½ karos²”ti ±ha. “Khetta½, bho gotama, sodhem²”ti. Satth± ettakameva vatv± gato. Punadivasepi tassa khetta½ kasitu½ ±gatassa santika½ gantv±, “br±hmaºa, ki½ karos²”ti pucchitv± “khetta½ kas±mi, bho gotam±”ti sutv± pakk±mi. Punadivas±d²supi tatheva gantv± pucchitv±, “bho gotama, khetta½ vap±mi niddemi rakkh±m²”ti sutv± pakk±mi. Atha na½ ekadivasa½ br±hmaºo ±ha– “bho gotama, tva½ mama khettasodhanadivasato paµµh±ya ±gato. Sace me sassa½ sampajjissati, tuyhampi sa½vibh±ga½ kariss±mi, tuyha½ adatv± saya½ na kh±diss±mi, ito d±ni paµµh±ya tva½ mama sah±yo”ti.
Athassa aparena samayena sassa½ sampajji tassa “sampanna½ me sassa½, sve d±ni l±y±pess±m²”ti l±yanattha½ kattabbakiccassa ratti½ mah±megho vassitv± sabba½ sassa½ hari, khetta½ tacchetv± µhapitasadisa½ ahosi. Satth± pana paµhamadivasa½yeva “ta½ sassa½ na sampajjissat²”ti aññ±si. Br±hmaºo p±tova “khetta½ olokess±m²”ti gato tuccha½ khetta½ disv± uppannabalavasoko cintesi– “samaºo gotamo mama khettasodhanak±lato paµµh±ya ±gato ahampi na½ ‘imasmi½ sasse nipphanne tuyhampi sa½vibh±ga½ kariss±mi, tuyha½ adatv± saya½ na kh±diss±mi, ito paµµh±ya d±ni tva½ mama sah±yo’ti avaca½. Sopi me manoratho matthaka½ na p±puº²”ti ±h±r³paccheda½ katv± mañcake nipajji. Athassa satth± gehadv±ra½ agam±si. So satthu ±gamana½ sutv± “sah±ya½ me ±netv± idha nis²d±peth±”ti ±ha. Parijano tath± ak±si. Satth± nis²ditv± “kaha½ br±hmaºo”ti pucchitv± “gabbhe nipanno”ti vutte “pakkosatha nan”ti pakkos±petv± ±gantv± ekamanta½ nisinna½ ±ha “ki½, br±hmaº±”ti? Bho gotama, tumhe mama khettasodhanadivasato paµµh±ya ±gat±, ahampi “sasse nipphanne tumh±ka½ sa½vibh±ga½ kariss±m²”ti avaca½. So me manoratho anipphanno, tena me soko uppanno, bhattampi me nacch±det²ti. Atha na½ satth± “j±n±si pana, br±hmaºa, ki½ te niss±ya soko uppanno”ti pucchitv± “na j±n±mi, bho gotama, tva½ pana j±n±s²”ti vutte, “±ma, br±hmaºa, uppajjam±no soko v± bhaya½ v± taºha½ niss±ya uppajjat²”ti vatv± ima½ g±tham±ha–
216. “Taºh±ya j±yat² soko, taºh±ya j±yat² bhaya½;
taºh±ya vippamuttassa, natthi soko kuto bhayan”ti.
Tattha taºh±y±ti chadv±rik±ya taºh±ya, eta½ taºha½ niss±ya uppajjat²ti attho.
Desan±vas±ne br±hmaºo sot±pattiphale patiµµhah²ti.
